I'm giving one star because the loan officer I dealt with was great. The rest of the company is awful. Tried to get a HECOLs and they made us restart the application process twice due to errors that they could not fix because of the system they use. The 2nd time the loan was approved and we were getting ready to sign and they said there was an issue but they couldn't tell exactly what it was but we they would have to cancel the application [that was already approved] and we would have to restart the process a 3rd time. This Company is absolutely nothing short of a scam Last August 2023 my sister and I got with a gentleman Mark and wanted to refinance a clear and free titled home. The first few weeks went oddly smooth enough. Got the paperwork signed all documents turned in and then came the appraisal. After forking over the six hundred bucks seems all communication came to a stand still months went by with no word. After repeated calls and left messages March rolls around and finally someone would pick up the phone and introduced himself as Marks Supervisor in charge and would be more than happy to look into it for us. After nearly a week went by and no word no anything. Called back and finally got ahold his " Supervisor" and he explained that the person that helped us, some Mark, mishandled quite a few others paperwork didn't have a count on hand but that there was a big theft falsifying of records and so on. When asked why couldn't they just follow thru with what they started since we've already paid for the appraisal and was told we'd have to literally start the process all over again and that they would gladly refund the price of the appraisal and he'd personally would send out the paperwork to get us started. Over a week later still no application and the refund of the appraisal was nada. Couldn't get anyone to answer our calls, emails or pleas just to at the very least follow thru on the refund of the appraisal so that we could proceed with a different company. Here it is heading into a year from which we started this freaking nightmare and still nothing about paying back for the appraisal nor the new application. This company is a damn joke. We couldn't have been the only ones that they've done this to from what we were told . Anyone else have this type of unprofessional, scandalous, lying, thieving situation with these jokers? Been reported to the OIG, Federal Trade Commissions Bureau of Consumer Protection. We will get our money back from this fraudulent transaction attempt by Cross Country Mortgage. read more

Frustration was the name of the game with this company. CrossCountry came highly recommended by my financial advisor, whom is fantastic and incredibly easy to work with. Based in his recommendation and reviews I chose to use Mark and his team at CC to mortgage my new home. I regret that decision. The first meeting, signing the initial paperwork and getting a mortgage quote were easy after that everything went downhill. Way downhill. I would send emails with questions and then have to follow up multiple times to get answers, phone calls would go unreturned, my real estate agent would send over information and be asked to resend it multiple time because they list it, the information in documents sent to me would be incorrect. At one point I sent documents to Mark and his assistant and then was called and or emailed by three other people on his team asking for the same document. It seemed like there was no internal communication whatsoever. I was told they could close easily and quickly because I had all my documents and information organized and completed. They even asked me to close earlier than the original agreed upon date, and then almost missed the close date due to internal miscommunication between each other. It was a total mess. The icing on the cake was getting an email today, in May, with tips for after closing. I closed last November. CrossCountry sold my mortgage to Wells Fargo immediacy...I found out from the bank 3 weeks before CCM sent a ladder. I would not recommend this business to my worst enemy. read more

If I could give zero starts that would be too much. They didnt pay my taxes. Once I found out about they took the penalty fee they promise to cover out of my escrow. I asked for a new escrow analysis which they completely botched and increased my monthly payment. They wont fix it. Wont refund my money they took to pay THEIR penalty from and you cannot speak to a person in the tax department. You are only able to email but they have never responded to 1 single email I have sent. They have $2000 sitting in my escrow and then tell me I need to contribute more into my escrow and then have sent me overage checks back the last 2 months. This is totally insane. Do not use this mortgage company. They will scam you and you cant even speak to anyone to get it fixed. They will be hearing from my attorney as soon as my refinance back to my old mortgage company closes. Never had an issue with any other mortgage company before. read more

Misi Johnson and Amy Russell are a phenomenal team to work with in purchasing a house and obtaining a mortgage. We drove from our downtown residence (many other companies available) out to Carmel because they came so highly recommended. And now we know why! We have purchased before but our level of service this time far exceeded our previous mortgage company. They are knowledgeable, customer friendly, and have great rates! Amy and Misi tag team every inch of the process. Misi called me back one evening when I sent her an email at close to 10 PM. This type of service and level of concern in our home buying process was so helpful. We requested numbers be run so we could estimate what was in our price range based on what we wanted our monthly payment to be- though we could have afforded more house they understood we wanted to be conservative and helped us get our payments exactly where we wanted them. She took care and concern in explaining everything to us and never made us feel dumb for our questions-this is rare ya'll! And trust me- for a big purchase like this you want to understand what's going on. The Access National Mortgage office is wonderful. We even look forward to seeing the receptionist because she is so warm and kind. Use them, use them, use them! I would have to second Beth P.'s assessment of CrossCountry Mortgage. They seem to be terribly disorganized and lack a knowledge of finances. You might ask "why does that matter" ...well, go through weeks of your mortgage service not listening to you, making bold incorrect assumptions, closer and closer to your closing date, and you will know what I mean. Reassurances of "everything is fine" are great except if the mortgage company assumes that you will accept a vastly different loan than you already agreed to, then require a panic of new documentation because they don't bother to read the FHA loan guidelines. Sorry....what is their job? Working with this company was a very harrowing and frustrating experience that added a huge amount of unneeded stress to an important experience. I cannot imagine choosing a worse company. read more
