Amazing gym , amazing people! I've been active , working out in some form or fashion my entire life but was still nervous coming into what I heard would be the toughest workouts of my life. But damn, those bodies of the crossfitters, well.. I wanted one for myself so I jumped into the Unloaded Classes they offer. These workouts kicked my butt, were full of movements that pushed me to my limits each and every time (without Olympic lifting) My body is getting better and better... Thanks to Crossfit A1A... I started crossfit about 3 weeks ago, wanted to step up my workouts and try something challenging... Oh yeah I got that and then some, but I have a long way to go to get strong enough to do these workouts. The staff is encouraging and doesn't force you to do anything you aren't up to yet. I haven't hurt anything at all, and most of the workouts are challenging for sure. Saturday morning they have a beach workout that's awesome and very hard. Yoga afterwords. I mostly workout with Chad one of the owners, really nice guy and a great trainer. Dan is also very cool and motivating. Love this place, very well run gym. read more

I was quite nervous and uncertain about my first class here because I was only just starting to get back into shape, and previously my only workouts had been dance, Pilates, barre, and a few months of cardio-interval, so a crossfit box is way out of my comfort zone. But, I became addicted to their Unloaded classes from day one. The coaches are great and have never made me feel like I shouldn't be there. They work with you where you are, always providing modifications or alternatives. It's still out of my comfort zone since my endurance sucks, but I'm seeing and feeling improvement, and enjoying the challenge of learning something new. I highly recommend their classes. read more

I joined A1A about 7 years ago. Before this gym, I had been at a nearby boxing gym for 8 years. Eight long years doing pretty much the same work out 4-5 times per week. I had no idea I was missing out on a gym right down the street that would make each day feel different, exciting, challenging and so much fun. Recommended by a friend who had already made the transition from the same boxing gym to A1A, I gave it a try one day and was immediately hooked. I have learned so many new skills that not only make me stronger and healthier, but also happier. They not only train you physically, but also teach you about nutrition. I've tried nutrition challenges the gym hosts that have given me amazing results. We've all heard stories of people getting injured doing CrossFit. Safety is a big thing at A1A. Each move is thoroughly taught and you will never feel pressured to do something you are not ready or comfortable doing. It's the only CrossFit gym I've been to so I can't compare, but if you are looking for professional, welcoming, hands-on and friendly coaches, this is the place for you. Whatever you were doing before Crossfit was NOT exercising! This place is amazing, the most efficient, comprehensive workouts EVER! The trainers are amazing and love what they do~Jessica is awesome with just the right amount of encouragement to push you to your max potential without being bothersome. It is a tough workout and will take about 2-3 weeks to get used to if you are not too much into exercising. But after 3 months you WILL see results! I LOVE Crossfit A1A!!! read more

I started here 3 weeks ago. I was addicted day 1! All of the instructors are phenomenal and incredibly sweet. They are super helpful and scale your workouts for beginners. I do the straight crossfit and the yoga. They also offer crossfit unloaded for a less "lift heavy" workout. I'm already a fitness addict and this is a major enhancement on my fitness regime! This XFit location is small but the trainers work as a team and love what they do. I loved the atmosphere right away. Chad, Pete, Jessica and Alex are all very helpful and try to draw out the best in people. I like that. It seems that their emphasis lies in teaching people to do the moves (olympic lifts) correctly, accomplishing that and then moving on towards steadily improving. They even provide you with a journal, so you can track your progress. There is no reason to rush things. Before you can attend a regular WOD (Workout of the Day) you have to attend 3 nights of ramp up sessions going over the pulling, pushing and jerking moves. One can attend the 305 classes right away, which do not comprise of the olympic lift moves but rather functional full body moves in bootcamp/circuit style. Basically - you 'll be fried by the time you have completed the workout. HAHA.. These classes are daily at 9:30 am and 7 pm. read more

Awesome crossfit gym with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have new equipments and the gym is well organized. They do beach workouts, yoga classes and tons of events to keep their members entertained (nutrition challenge, Olympic lifting certifications, workout competitions etc...)! I "dropped in" for a workout this morning as I'm in Miami on a business trip and needed to feed my CrossFit fix. I thought the workout was well organized and I was welcomed warmly by the group. Honestly speaking I can't say I love going to crossfit. It's a very hard work out. Now what I can say is, I am very grateful to have met these group of trainers. They have changed by body, as well as, my lifestyle. All you need, when joining, is a "never quit" mentality. This place is like no other crossfit and it can very well be one of the best decisions I've ever made. No class is alike. After becoming board with boxing, and regular gyms. I was looking for a new fitness challenge. Decided to give crossfit a go. The works outs are always different & diverse. When you walk you can tell this is an athletes domain :) Been utilizing both of their locations 4-5 days a week. The coaches are all very knowledgeable, some of whom used to compete. So pissed! I signed up with a1a off a groupon. I have a job which makes it very difficult to work out or be committed to anything. A1a requires u to take 3 classes over 3 days offered at only one time daily in order to start crossfit. They're called 101 classes. I spent several weeks juggling stuff to make myself available to take these classes. 2 days before the first scheduled classes I start calling to register. No voicemail. No response, no body picking up the phone at all. Finally 40 min before class begins someone picks up...... Only to tell me they don't offer those classes anymore and I would have to make it to another studio in 40 minutes to take the class. I've spent weeks arranging time off and I find out NOW..... 40 min before class that the location has changed!!!!!!! I'm furious!!!!!! I chose a1a because it's walking distance. I've been looking forward to crossfit for weeks. Now I'm totally turned off. Thanks for f-Ing up my only days off in weeks! A total waste of my time. Now I've been on the phone with groupon for 45 min trying to get a refund. More wasted time....... Thanks a1a! You suck! read more
