I'm in love with this place. I grew up in South Florida and used to train at a place called Porky's. It was loud, compact and intense. The scary type of gym people who don't know any better imagine, Except, there was nothing scary about it. Familiar faces, classical Equipment and the knowledge that you were gonna leave better than when you came. Miami Iron Gym takes me back to that. It's a place where grunting is allowed so long as you retail your weights. There's no link alarm and no texting. You don't workout, you train. No wannaBe drill sergeants shouting Etsy quotes at you while they film themselves. It's beautiful: people lifting. Imagine that. I was in town and didn't want to skip Leg day so I paid the drop in fee and spoke to Mr Juan at the front desk who was great. I made very sure to get my moneys worth in their variety of machines. Great staff, vast equipment and 24 hours most days of the year. Many stair masters, treadmills, bicycles, a lot of free weights, a dedicated deadlift platform, 2 squat racks, a power cage, many machines and free cables. I will forever be in love with this gym. read more

Worst gym i've been to in miami. scary people all over the place and no one seems to know english. the weights never put back -- seems like the employees don't do their job cleaning. miscellaneous dumbbells everywhere. it's so busy at all hours of the day. so many people to the point where when your working out someone is literally touching you at all times. Amazing gym with incredible equipment. Training can only be accomplished to it's possible potential at a place like this. So much bodybuilding equipment, stuff you can't find at your typical Planet/LA Fitness bs chains for average Joe. Dedicated individuals working training towards their goals. The ONLY thing I see wrong with this gym is their size. I know this is a family owned gym but I cannot wait until they expand their size because at the moment that is the only thing wrong I see. Their staff is super friendly and kind, their equipment is always up to date specialized equipment that most facilities do not have, not broken, and ready to be used. Best gym I've ever worked out at. No bullshit. Just a bunch of rusted steel and hard work. Nothing in life comes easy. This is the place to be if you want to pick up heavy ass weights and get stronger. It gets a little busy at 5pm and 6pm, so come a later. I used to go late, from like 11pm to 1am and I would get amazingly good workouts. They have equipment no other gym has. I love the Hammer Deadlift machine. It's great not only for deadlifts but for trap work as well. Great gym, great atmosphere. As far as Eddie's review... please don't listen to him, he is a plant. He is a snowflake and part of the Planet Fitness crowd and he was butthurt that Iron Gym doesn't use Lunk Alarms. He also doesn't know what the hell he is talking about because Porky's was a hardcore gym just like Iron Gym except that it was bought out and closed down by some shitty commercial chain gym. read more

I have to give Miami Iron Gym credit for expanding and making their location bigger. I would have probably updated my previous rating to give the gym 3 to 3 and 1/2 stars, but I'm only going to give them 2 stars this time. How in the hell can they expect to be an awesome gym if they won't turn their water fountains on? I know that water fountains had to be shut off 2 years ago when Covid was running rampant, but there is no excuse for Miami Iron Gym to still have their fountains off. It doesn't make any sense that they can make the gym bigger, but they won't turn their water fountains back on. I'll change my rating again if they finally turn them on. read more

I'm originally from Miami, FL and I visit at least twice a year; my mother resides near the gym, and I often go by and take advantage of their military friendly $20 dollar a week offer (I'm on active duty), and I gotta tell you all, this is by far the best price for a guy who just needs a gym to work out while away from home. It also helps that the staff has always been very friendly and that the gym has a very "homey" feel to it. Since we moved to Miami was very difficult to find a gym to call home , this gym have all the necessary equipment for a good workout, big weight , functional set up ! Different from the others gym in Miami , people are over there to really workout, forget that crowded places full of posers ! Big plus to the old school style. This gym is for real lifters. If you're looking for some light weights and to socialize for a few hours this is not your place. If you're serious about working out and are into the hardcore machines this is your place. They have amazing machines that you don't see in every gym. It is a little cramped but it's not a deal breaker. Their barbells are a little old and rusty but they got the job done. The people that I met in the 2 days of using the gym were so welcoming and it made the environment feel more homey. I love that they keep the gym a little hot and dark, perfect to get in your zone and just pump out a good workout. I easily spent 2 hours there and could have done more. This is the perfect gym for just visiting or to be an actual member. read more

I absolutely love it there. Perhaps Ashleigh R was thinking she was at an La Fitness or Planet Fitness. Those are probably better for her Zumba and cardio efforts. MIG is an old school lifters gym. There's hard work and progress there to gain, not cute equipment, bells & whistles and Pilates classes to sign up for. Miami Iron is a gym to get stronger and gain over all health. Not a Fitness center to dance and grab a low carb smoothie as you track your daily Fitbit steps. read more

For the guy who gave a negative review and wants to lose a "few pounds and tone up," this gym is way over his head. Perhaps Living Well Lady would be a better fit for him. He also contradicted himself by saying that it is both a pro and a con to be open 24 hours. Miami Iron Gym is open 24 hours and while it is true that they close on holidays, it's only for about 4-5 hours. Employees need to spend time with their families. This gym is hard core, and so is the equipment. They also buy new equipment and are constantly trying to improve it. Furthermore, there is a family feel to it where members push you to go harder. There are no TVs, no clocks, no daylight and NO DISTRACTIONS. They truly live by the motto of never quitting. Personally, I have lost 50 pounds with the guidance of Diego Botasso (@elitefitnesstraining1 on Instagram) as well as gym's support! If you're 100% serious, this is the gym for you. read more

Pretty great gym, not very spacious but that adds to the at home feel. Definitely not a health club, lends more to a crowd that is prepping for actual competition. Equipment is kept in working condition and they continue to buy new things to improve. The crowd that trains there are mostly serious, specially those powerlifters that hang out by the squat racks and deadlift platform, those guys are great and it's always a big thing when they have deadlift days, they came dressed as Vikings once and one of them was ace Ventura. All the one star reviews are only complaining about dirty machines or the small location. May I say that I love this gym it is a little bit intimidating at first when you walk in because everyone there is in great shape even the women are ripped. But the people there make you feel so good about yourself they say good job they give you a little wink to let you know you're doing good they know they're bigger and better than you but they don't make you feel bad about it like youfit and LA fitness. This gym feels like home. I'm a young female with almost no muscle I'm just skinny "fat" but the women at this gym are not rude, their bodies intimidate me and make me feel out of place but their character and attitude are amazing. You will see almost the same people everyday and they are people who are here to better themselves, they don't care about who is the strongest in the room. Love this gym. I absolutely love this gyms concept! it carry's itself as oldchool and shows many of its members that you don't need to look amazing or you're best to put in work to get there they truly show you how you can be a better version of you in a healthy level, despite this the gym has flaws I'm a Miami local and once a proud member of porky's gym. Miami iron gym is a lifters gym with weights ranging from 10 to even 180p has amazing feel to it with its many thank you pictures from previous athletes whom had come in to the gym and realized they're goal. they have nice artwork all over the place and the music really speaks for itself good for serious training, but folks hate to say the machines don't have to look nice in order to work out however it is professional to keep machines visibly appealing the establishment is small so most machines are almost on top of each other, the water fountain station is rigged in a way that you have to mess with it a bit they're cardio machines are all different but you can tell they had been bought previously used or refurbished some even have wholes and you can see the electronic part that tell you the numbers of you're bp or time, the staff are friendly but I noticed they have a bodybuilding.com shirt?? not exactly good promo for the location and even though we all know body odor is normal in a gym they sorta excel in this location even to a point that it smelled like urine and several female members had a face of I'm going to throw up. this location has an amazing concept but they need a lot of work and for all who review this place and give it 5 stars but only based on performance but not quality then that's ok I'm just pointing out the cons, sorry Miami iron gym but I have to give you a 3 and hope you get better in time read more

Today, Saturday, the rude front desk clerk was overreacting to a female lifter doing her best on the deadlift platform for dropping the weight. News flash a-hole, she lifts more than you. Stop hating. Go back to flirting with guys at the front. The equipment is dirty and rusty, it probably hasn't been cleaned since the Porkys days. Visitors may contract a staph infection. Equipment is not kept up with or cleaned, members don't put their equipment away, quite a few of the cardio machines have been "out of order" for months. A lot of the machines are missing the played to adjust increments between the bigger weights (the 5-10lb adjustment plates). Overall just really cramped with equipment it's hard to move around especially when it's busy. It's is 24 hours which is nice so I'll give two stars for that but overall disappointed with this gym. read more
