Great box with very friendly staff and members. I was in Birmingham for business and wanted to get…read moresome good workouts while I was there. Went Monday-Wednesday for the 6:30a classes. The most that was there at one time was on Wednesday, about 12 or so people. Not sure if that is indicative of usual Wednesdays, but I thought I would mention it. I would say that the most members that should be in there is about 12 due to the space, especially if the workout involves barbell work. Drop in rates for multiple days seemed pretty reasonable - $45 for 3 days. I expected that it would be $20/day. Also they are pretty active on Facebook which is always a plus for me. When I was researching crossfit gyms in the area I sent them a message on Facebook and they responded. Even while I was already in Birmingham they responded to messages. Just to give you an idea of the WODs I did while was there: Heavy Diane - deadlift 275# and headstand push-ups (of course I did scaled version) EMOM 9 burpees for 20min - if you do less than 10 rounds = 50 penalty burpees; 11-14 rounds = 30 penalty burpees; 15+ rounds = no penalty Overall great place to workout, the only concern would be space if there was a lot of people coming in. And maybe I did not see it on their site, but some kind of online sign in would be even better so you could see how many people would be at the class.

Honestly never lifted a thing in my life. Kyle and the team were very supportive and kind. Willing…read moreto teach and break it down.. highly recommended from beginners to the experienced

It's an okay gym, but there's nothing even close to "luxury" about it. You'd genuinely get better…read moreservice at the YMCA. The women's sauna is constantly broken or smells like sewage, and it's been that way long enough that it's clearly not a priority to fix. They also completely erased a huge part of the club's community when they removed the basketball courts. That space brought people together, and replacing it with indoor pickleball--without asking members--says everything about how decisions are made here. Most of the events are geared toward the senior population, so calling this place an "athletic country club" feels misleading. And the last‑minute changes to heated classes, suddenly moving them outdoors when it's 60 degrees and cloudy, make no sense. It feels like they're sacrificing quality just to squeeze in more bodies. It was heartbreaking to lose the cycle classes as that was the only community I had been able to build there. When the gym is crowded, it's barely usable. I've seen the saunas so packed that people are standing shoulder to shoulder. It's uncomfortable and defeats the purpose entirely. And while most of the staff are friendly, it's hard not to notice that some employees show up smelling like weed, which doesn't exactly match the "premium" image they're trying to sell.

Lifetime (Birmingham) is an upscale gym, spa and recreation facility offering free and paid fitness…read moreclasses, state of the art gym equipment, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room and whirlpool spa. They have childcare and even a cafe with healthy offerings (one inside and one by the outdoor pool for summer days). They also offer towels, lockers, shampoo, razors, etc, , personal training, small group training and educational programs. I have participated and taken advantage of all of these services and amenities, at some point. It's the nicest health and wellness facility in Business, and prices are reflective of this fact. It's worth every penny if you are able to take advantage of offerings. Unfortunately, the sauna and steam room are often closed, in need of repair and classes require advanced reservations and fill up quickly.
