I recently completed a 6-month, 2X a week session (July '21- Jan '22) with Kariim. When I started…read morein July, I told him that I didn't have a lot of weight to lose, but I wanted to feel comfortable in a bathing suit for my 50th birthday in October. My first weigh-in I was at 196.1 and at 5'9", I told him I'd be happy if I could be at 180 lbs. on my birthday. He said calmly, "I think we can get down to 175 lbs." And I remember not giving that statement that much energy because I just wanted to be 180 lbs. But along the way, with his encouragement, advice, guidance, and tough and targeted workouts, I WANTED to get to 175 lbs. and on the day before my birthday, I weighed in at 174.4 lbs. On my last day at the gym, I weighed in at 174.8 lbs. and yesterday I weighed in at home at 173 lbs. Altogether, I lost a total of 21.3 lbs., 3.5% of body fat, and 35.5 total inches all over my body. I have actually gotten down to 172.6 lbs., but I still haven't mastered the eating plan that Kariim encourages, which is why my body fat percentage did not drop as much as I wanted. Kariim is not the type of trainer who yells at you like a drill sergeant, yet his quiet, stern presence makes you want to give it your all (at least that's how I felt). He's personable and shared a wealth of knowledge about the difference between being "fit" and being "healthy". He not only helped transformed my body, more importantly, he helped transform my mind and how I feel about fitness & exercise. I'm determined to make it a part of my life now, like brushing my teeth. I actually work out when I *don't* want to, which is proof for me, that I'm determined to make exercise a regular part of my life and hold myself accountable. Now that I'm happy with the number on the scale, my main focus is fitness and building muscle. I still have a long way to go, but I realize that slow and steady wins the race. I bought some resistance bands to assist with this part of my journey and because of my sessions with Kariim, I'm no longer intimidated by gym machines (as I was before), so if I wanted to go back to a commercial gym again, I could with confidence this time. Someone asked me on New Year's Eve what was the best thing I did for myself in 2021. And besides graduating with my master's degree in May, I would absolutely have to say that working out with Kariim was the best thing I did for myself. He absolutely gave me what I needed, and I'll be forever grateful. (You know that little indention/definition at the top of your arm, near your shoulder? I always wanted that, lol! And sometimes when I pass myself in the mirror, I can finally see it coming in! )

I signed up with Kariim a few weeks and I can already feel myself getting stronger. Kariim offers training sessions from 1 to 5 days a week at several different times. Right now I only train two days a week at the facility but Kariim has given me a high-intensity interval training plan to do on my off days along with meal ideas. Kariim is knowledgeable and knows what exercises you need to do to reach your desired goals. He'll push your limits but you'll thank him for it in the end. While I'm still early in my process I'm excited about what's to come.

After 4 weeks I lost 15 pounds and feel great. I'd definitely recommend any of the trainers at the gym to anyone looking to really improve their health and fitness. Update: I've now lost 23 lbs total in the two months I've been working with Adam. I'm extremely impressed by his commitment to helping me hit my goals and the willingness of the entire team to provide thoughtful advice on issues that come up (e.g. nutrition and training questions) as I make progress. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Final Update: I ended up losing about 30 lbs in my first 3 months at the gym (I'm still training there). It's been a great experience and I'd recommend it as the best place to go if you are very serious about getting in better shape (specifically to improve body composition).

Trainers do everything they can to work with you, help with nutrition, design workouts for you through the week, text reminders.... super great. pricy but worth the investment. I love working out here. Lots of employees are family or very close so they are a tight group and all super nice and sweet! They never pack the place so you always have your equipment ready to go for you. they can even train you and a friend at the same time if you have similar goals which is unique! Thanks Caroline for all the help!

I came to Atlanta for a wedding and was staying in a nearby hotel. I'd been looking for a yoga…read morestudio in the area and couldn't find one. While on my morning walk I saw people leaving out of the space with smiles on their faces and sweaty. I'd asked one of the guests what they thought about the class and what format it was and they said they loved it. So when I went inside and started talking to the front desk staff I quickly learned that this was a mega former and treadmill class. Whaaaaaaat, how cool and how challenging. I was instantly intrigued and had to take a class. On top of that, the studio was beautiful with a whole storefront at the entrance. Here's what I loved and didn't love as much during my visit, + the studio was walkable for me and easy to get to + they have a wide range of athletic brands, including SPANX! + front desk staff and instructors were very friendly + I liked the format and flow of the class + the self paced treadmills were awesome + we received complimentary eye masks this day + I scored 2 Beyond Yoga tank tops for $25 each + enjoyed the playlist during class + loved the lighting changing with the intensity of class There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the studio or class. I believe the class was $35 which is right in line with a standard workout class especially one with expensive equipment. I'm looking forward to coming back to Atlanta just so I can go to a sculpt house class lol

I originally started coming to SculptHouse around 2018 and historically enjoyed all instructors and…read morethe friendliness of the staff. However there has been a significant change in overall atmosphere, "policy enforcement" and my overall excitement to book or join a class. The music is hit or miss. Most instructors are challenging but the attitudes and enthusiasm and friendliness are also inconsistent. My decision to cancel my membership is largely in part to the new manager Tania. She rudely interrupts clarifying questions and throws out inconsistent answers to questions you didn't even ask; she is overall disarmingly passively dismissive. After struggling with the parking lot, I say hello and check in on the iPad. My typical routine if I do not walk to class to avoid the parking (it is truly a nightmare because of the boutique nearby taking 1/4 of the spaces and max 30 minutes for another 1/4). As I'm about to open the door to class, Tania informs me that I will not be able to enter the classroom until the halfway mark because I'm now 2 minutes over the grace period. When I ask when this policy has been issued I was told it's always been the policy. That's not the case and she nor Courtney (sp?) the director were consistent on the established date of the policy. Always, 10years, 5 years a while. When I noted the policy that I was aware of was the possibility of allowing another person to switch between the curve or the reformer, then the policy date changed but ultimately was blamed on me for not keeping up with what was on the current website. The website policy is not explicit - may enter at the halfway mark is not the same as may not enter until. Words mean things. The policy is written to allow for selective enforcement. Regardless of the date, the policy is not enforced fairly or consistently. My last class I observed someone coming into the class well after 10 minutes but before the halfway mark. This is not unusual over the past 8+ years and most are familiar faces that quietly get to their spots and right into their workout. There seems to be some type of favoritism or other distinguishing factors that make the enforcement selective. What makes it worse, no one lets me know of the halfway mark. Sometimes classes start 1-2 minutes behind so I would have expected an indicator of when I could actually enter. Not the case- it's giving mean girl energy. Sadly the shift in staff is no longer welcoming enough to deal with the hit or miss music needed tolerate hit or miss classes. If Brittnee ever comes back (Tania couldn't even confidently tell me if she was there still), I may consider a drop in class.

I have been visiting Karen for personal training for over a year now and I never miss my sessions with her! She is my "reset" button every week to check in and make sure I'm on track for my fitness goals. Combined with a diet I selected and additional exercises throughout the week, Karen helped me lose 45lbs last year. I started at 308lbs. I still have a ways to go, but I'm looking forward to see what I can do in year 2. It really helps to have a person there every week who is cheering you on (especially when you've had an off week!), and someone to provide new ideas when you need the boost. How many times in my life have I taken a "break" from going to the gym only to find a week turns into several months? Having my weekly appointment has saved me from falling back into sedentary mode. I was looking for strength and stamina and started out with small-group training with Karen. I've been doing the same group training for two years now. Karen is amazing at what she does. Not only does she create challenging, varied, and--yes!--FUN workouts, but she gets to know each person in her class so well that she knows when to motivate you, when to give you modifications, and when to push you. She is always researching and trying new exercises and teaching you how they benefit you. Perhaps most of all, I love the camaraderie, support, and genuine care I feel in her classes. We work hard together, encourage each other, and laugh a lot. I can't imagine working out anywhere else, and I hope I never have to!
