I've been a member at CFPT for about a year now since starting my CrossFit journey almost 5 years ago! CFPT is the second box I've ever committed to (I stayed at my first CF gym for a long 4 years before moving to Atlanta) and I've enjoyed the facility, workouts, members, and atmosphere the entire time! I've even continued crossfitting throughout my first pregnancy here (from Week 1 all the way to Week 37)! Matt and Wes are very welcoming and try to be as accommodating to each member as possible. They'll help scale any workout and they ensure classes run smoothly and on-time. While I'm an experienced crossfitter, I was nervous about starting at a new gym within an already-established community but everyone (members and staff) were all approachable and willing to help me find equipment around the room and introduce their friends/workout partners to me too. As a female, I've never felt there was a clique-ish vibe here nor super competitive ego one either. I enjoy coming in, getting a great and varied workout in, and then continuing with my day. It's conveniently located in the heart of Buckhead between the Shoppes and Peachtree Battle, behind The Peach shopping center and for the crowded Buckhead area, this gym is very spacious with its own private USAW weightlifting room filled of hardwood platforms and kilo plates, bathrooms with showers, and a separate area closed off for kids if you need to bring little ones along. Their schedule contains more classes than most other CF gyms I've tried with classes in the morning from 5:30a and 6:30a, lunch breaks at 12pm, then through the evening from 4-8pm. They're even open on Sundays for any athletes that don't use it as a Rest Day. They also hold frequent competitions including the Atlanta Classic USAW weightlifting one and a few Atlanta Affiliate League-hosted ones as well for any members who enjoy competing, volunteering or getting involved in the larger CF community. read more

I came across Crossfit Peachtree facility when I learned about the new USAW registered club - Buckhead Barbell Club. I have been actively looking for a weightlifting facility for 6 months since I moved back to GA and finally I found the one that met my criteria. #1. Olympic weightlifting equipment and training room. They have 5 custom built platforms, blocks, and 2 full set of disk plates, and more. They have 15kg bars for female and 20kg bars for male. I do wish they have some 5kg training bumper plates for beginners. #2. Very close to where I work. Normally, I will stop by in the AM for stretch and technique drill works, and get ready in their shower room. They open 5:30 - 7:30 AM. I hope they will have another crossfit session run from 7:30 - 8:30 AM or have open-gym hours run until 8 AM. Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM is where I do the olympic weightlifting classes with Coach Clay. This is a small class and run separately than crossfit. These classes are super useful and I have been receiving lots of attention and tips with my lifts. #3. People in here are super nice and friendly. Wes and Matt are the owners and they put a lot of effort in making CFPT and BBC a great community. Coach Matt is lifting at American Open this weekend and BBC will have our first weightlifting meet in January 2017! From time to time, people will ask me to do a crossfit class with them.. (haha, I just prefer lifting weights..) #4. Beginner weightlifters or experienced crossfitters? All welcome. Everyone starts somewhere. One day, I am starting with 0.5kg plates on the bar to do muscle snatch and another day I PR with 45kg on C & J. #5. Within my budget. $$ Drop-in if you are out of town (18 miles from airport) or stop by to give it a try! It is located the same shopping center as Publix (behind the building.) Joined CFPT after an office move and have not regretted it one bit! Great coaching and friendly members. Matt and Wes run a wonderful box with and do a fantastic job of scaling movements to anyones ability and fitness level. The membership includes olympic weightlifting classes and coaching which is a fantastic added value. Another great perk is the amount of classes offered each day. No matter what your schedule, they can accommodate you. If you are looking for a new fitness home you should definitely give Crossfit Peachtree a try. read more

This gym advertised a 6 week "new you" challenge a couple of weeks before Christmas. I went in for the interview with Wes and heard about the program and was so so so excited to join. The program was going to cost $250, but that was worth every penny for the results I was hoping to see. A week and a half before the program was even supposed to begin they cancel due to lack of participation. 1) there was still time to recruit people... 2) they never once in the interview progress lead on that they had to have a certain number of people sign up. I had friends who were interested and I could have pushed them along had that been made more clear. 3) they had the opportunity to change lives and canceled that because they didn't make enough money... I'm truly disappointed that this gym ripped my hopes and dreams of a healthier future out from under me. read more

So I want to be clear: this review is not meant for experienced cross fitters. This review is for those of you that are new to xfit and might be out-of-shape and nervous about joining a place like this. I was just such a person and wasted well over $100 I'll never see again. My Experience: I called CrossFit Peachtree and talked to a nice guy (I believe one of the owners). I expressed my concern that I didn't think I was fit enough to begin such a program and asked if I shouldn't first get a baseline of fitness and then join. He politely dismissed my concerns and said that there was a fitness level for everyone and not to worry, I'd start off in the ramp up class. I very specifically told him that if I walked in and saw nothing but super fit people, that I'd feel out of place. He LOL'd and told me not to worry. Fast forward to my first class: I swear to god this was like something out of a movie. I walk in and see the most fit beautiful people I've ever seen. This really is a testament to xfit. It must work. But for people like me -- beginners, completely out of shape and extra poundage in every direction, it was incredibly intimidating. My "ramp up" class began in the back of the gym as another class was going on. The class in the front of the gym had their Kanye and Jay-Z mix up so loud I literally could not hear one word our instructor was saying. Don't get me wrong, I got nothin' but love for Ye and Jay, but it was sort of ridiculous for a neophyte to figure out what the hell she was talking about. Then my worst fears were pretty much realized. Absolutely no consideration was given to individual fitness levels. We were given some cursory lessons on form and then were assigned a 'workout of the day" to complete. Regardless of your fitness level, you were expected to complete it. Now, I'm all for high standards but I'm also for reality. I could not finish these workouts (hell, I was so out of breath I couldn't finish a sentence) and as people finished they stood there and stared at you waiting on you to finish so the group could move on. So here's the picture: I'm sweating profusely, hyperventilating, using poor form, way behind the group, and am on the floor trying to finish while everyone waits on me. I was so embarrassed and humiliated all I could think was if I ever get out of here I'll never come back. Despite this promise, I had paid well over a bill for these classes and I was determined to go back. I had the exact same experience for two more classes at which point I thru my hands up and bounced. I'm embarrassed that I gave up but that's what I did. I really thought when I failed to show for the next class that someone would call and say: "hey is everything OK?" -- I mean, that's what I would do if I was a business owner that relied on repeat business -- but I never heard from CFPT again. So again, I would say if you're a beginner, with absolutely no level of fitness, this is NOT the place for you. Conversely, if you're already fit, and looking for a challenge, I suspect this would be a great place. I don't begrudge CFPT anything but I honestly do feel like I got misled. It could've been an honest miscommunication, idk. What I can say is that if I was this business owner, I would have a diametrically different type of ramp up program and individual fitness levels would absolutely be taken into account. UPDATE: Once the owner figured out who it was that left this review, he contacted me, offered me another ramp up class at no charge, and advised they'd made changes to the class to benefit those of us that are rookies. Clearly the people running this are well intentioned and care about feedback. I'd say that makes it worth giving them a try. read more

CFPT is not just a gym, it's a family. I've been a member for 7 years and have met lifelong friends there. The programming is the right mix of weightlifting and wods. The coaches genuinely care and have been instrumental in me hitting my personal goals at the gym. I'd strongly recommend crossfit peachtree for newbies to experienced crossfitters. read more

I am a crossfitter. I get to travel a bit in my career. One of the perks of travel is the ability to sample CrossFit gyms across the nation. As most CrossFitters know each gym has it's own flavor, each gym is a family and some are more friendly than others. CrossFit Peach Tree is one of those families that opens their arms and welcomes far flung relations. They charge a very reasonable drop in fee and even waive the fee if you buy a t-shirt (ummm yes please!). The coaches train with patience and care and make sure that the classes are safe as well as fun. I will definitely come back to CrossFit Peach Tree next time I am in Atlanta. Took for about 4-5 months at CrossFit Peachtree. Was an OK gym but did not find the owners to be particularly friendly, and the coaches and other participants were a bit cliquish. Nothing really wrong with the gym, just didn't have the best feel for me. Much happier at another crossfit gym in Buckhead. read more

Put it simply, I love this place. In July it will be two years for me. I've met some of my closest friends here. It's not just a gym, it's a community. For those worried about the expense like I was - it's worth it. Great trainers, great owners who genuinely personally care about each and every member. At the very least, go in for one of the free sessions and learn what it's about. To be honest you could probably go anywhere to get the workout, even do it at home, but it makes SO much more of a difference if you love the people you're working out with. This is the most intense, heart pounding workout you can do, and these guys do it right! You aren't paying the personal trainer prices, but you do get personal attention, even nutrition help. Their gym is one of the biggest, cleanest, best equipped Crossfits in the area and the trainers are fantastic. I love this place, and so does my boyfriend....because he loves my incredible abs and toned arms! read more

I was in town on business for two weeks. Not wanting to miss my workouts I discovered Crossfit Peachtree through a relative of mine in the area. Man am I glad I did!!! Matt, Wes and the coaches were absolutely awesome!!! The structure of the WOD's are phenomenal!! Only having been in Crossfit for about a year I'm not familiar with all aspects of some of the preferred stretches, functional movements and such. Matt and G were great in coaching me through the best practices and techniques. If I lived in the Atlanta area, no doubt this would be my home box!!! Highly recommend!!! read more

I've got a history of not enjoying fitness because I could never find something I actually enjoyed. When I went to Crossfit Peachtree, I had no idea what I was getting myself into! It turned out to be the best thing I could have ever done with my life. I've lost 10 pounds in one month just by listening to their input about eating right and enjoying my workouts with them! It is very diverse there, which I love- Ego problems don't exist there. Everyone is there, doing their own things and they'll cheer you on when you're struggling because they know it isn't always easy! It's so much fun there. The workouts are always switched up and they never get old. There were things I couldn't do when I first got there- a month later, I am doing more! I have gained way more strength in a short amount of time at this box than I ever have doing anything else I've ever done in my lifetime. Great support system! Their music taste is superb! They're big on injury prevention which I am very thankful for. Oh, and their warm-up stretches are perfection! I LOVE this place! I was actually researching other Crossfit boxes around the area, but this one turned out to be the best one for me. It is for all levels! read more

I had the opportunity to drop in to CFPT a couple of days ago and will say that overall I had a decent experience there. I'm a huge fan of "dungeon-like" gyms with loud music so the atmosphere of CFPT was perfect. I liked the focus on injury prevention as part of the warm-up, the WOD was challenging and fun, and the waived drop-in fee for a t-shirt deal is great. My only reservations about visiting CFPT again next time I'm in town is the fact that, like another reviewer wrote, the vibe felt a little "cliquish." Sure, one of the coaches greeted me when I walked in but after he left to go check if they had t-shirts, he never came back. The other coach that ran our class did very little coaching during the workout (adjusting form, motivating, etc), the cliques in the class were evident, and not a single person went out of their way to talk to me before, during, or after the class despite me cheering some of them on during their workouts- something drastically different from the dozen or so Boxes I've visited around the country. Admittedly I might just be more critical than I need to be but I just wanted to convey my experience at CFPT. I'd still recommend checking this gym out and seeing if it works for you. read more
