If you're reading this, you are probably like me- 6 weeks ago. Anxious, unsure, but knowing you need a change. Let's face it, crossfit gyms have a super competitive reputation but Twice Bitten Crossfit is different. I can not express my surprise of falling in love with this gym, the people, and the friendly and safe environment they provide. All new athletes are put into a foundations group to develop skills, and learn about proper technique. You work in a group setting with coaches that are extremely patient and kind. I've had class with people who have cancer, are pregnant, are older, and young. It's so refreshing to be surrounded by people who are all different but all have the same goal- to feel better and be better. If you're considering a gym- please consider TBC. It has changed my life, my day-to-day, how I feel about myself and more. I've learned to love myself again and hope everyone can feel the way TBC has made me feel. read more

Wonderful staffers, coaches and facility! I was bored to tears working out alone so through the recommendation of a friend, I started here. If I could give this place a 10 star rating, I would. I have always been fairly active, but only to be able to eat what I wanted to eat. I never cut anything out of my diet, I ate whatever I pleased and I never saw results because of this. I was the type of person to take naps during my lunch break because sleep sounded way more appealing than food. Since I've started the 6 Week Challenge at Twice Bitten Crossfit, my energy levels have been at an all time high. I can wake up at 4:30am to attend a 5:30am workout and be up and alert until 11:30pm. I look good, I feel good and I am also way more productive. I cannot thank these people enough for putting me on a customized meal plan that actually works for me and my body type. This isn't your average "cookie-cutter" meal plan where one idea is supposed to work for everyone. They legit take the time out to sit you down and find out what your weight loss/weight gain goals are. From there, they provide you with an easy to follow grocery list and give you ideas on recipes that are simple to follow and quick to make. You really have no choice but to meet your goals. I thought I would dread going to the workouts but they are honestly the best part of my week! I am so grateful for the trainers that guide and push me throughout the workout sessions. They have dedicated themselves to helping me become a better me and without them, I'd still be doing the bare minimum just to be able to eat junk and feel horrible about myself. A true 5 stars. The worst part about joining TBC is that I didn't do it sooner!! Since day 1, the community within has been a great experience. The coaches and staff are so friendly and personable. There can be an intimidation factor in joining a new gym (i know i was) but they make you feel so comfortable and really want you to succeed. Even this morning, i started setting up to be on the safe side weight-wise but the coaches really pay attention to your progress and recommended i challenge myself because he knew i could handle it. And i was able to prove i could. It was a great coaching moment. If that's not enough to get you to come by, keep reading. I started with a 6 week challenge where it's set for you to basically bet for/against yourself. They give you all the tools to meet your weight loss/body fat decrease goals: access to classes 3x a week, a nutrition plan, and coaching all along the way. And i have done challenges before (this is how they got me) but this one you are held so accountable for your fitness and nutritional decisions that you really can't mess this up. I am a HUGE foodie and this new meal plan was going to be the toughest part. But i have had too much fun coming up with new recipes within the plan that i have even created an Instagram to document my newfound healthy eating. I can 100% tell a difference in my appearance just from the food i am eating (was already working out 7x a week prior to this). The coaches always check up on you to make sure you are on track and open themselves to any questions you have. I've been working out for about 5 years now. Mostly in the gym, weight lifting, some yoga and cycling here and there, but after a few years of doing the same things, I felt like I plateaued. I was bored at the gym, didn't know what to do next, and didn't feel like I was seeing any changes in my body. I heard about Twice Bitten through my boyfriend who participated in their 6 week challenge at the beginning of 2019. I think just about everyone knows that CrossFit has a certain stereotype. These ideas about it made me a little hesitant to get on board, but after hearing how much he enjoyed it there, I decided to give it a try. One of the great things about TBC is that they offer a community class on Saturdays at 9:30am. This gives you an opportunity to check out the workouts and see if you like it before you commit to a regular membership. After attending a special bring-a-friend event and going to two community classes, I was hooked. The community and encouragement from everyone at the gym is unlike anything I've experienced in any other fitness setting. There are people of all ages and all levels of athleticism. I've never felt awkward or looked down on for not knowing how to do something, and there's always a coach or a fellow gym-mate who's ready to help if I need it. They also offer classes M-F from 5:30am - 7:30pm to accommodate any schedule, which is SUPER important to me (and most). Twice Bitten Crossfit has to be the worst fitness business in Oklahoma! Please save your time and money! Truly, I say this because I would HATE for anyone to have to go through what I experienced. Typically I base my decisions off of reviews and I heard a few disappointing comments before but I thought I'd give them a try anyways. I should've listened and avoided them completely. So, if you're a firm believer in going to place off reviews PLEASE read, read again, share, and take my word. Honestly, I wouldn't even write a review like this if it wasn't that bad, but this place is THAT BAD! DO NOT BE LIKE ME AND THINK 'oh I'll give it a try' IT'S NOT WORTH IT, I PROMISE! I originally saw the ad on Facebook stating that they were having a free six week challenge. Yes, it said free. I signed up and received an email and text message right away, so I thought this must be legit. I was super excited about meeting with them and starting my journey. I get to their gym for my consultation. No one was at the desk, no one greeted me, NOTHING. I sign in and take a seat. About five minutes later Destiny walks in on her phone asking if I'm here for the challenge. She gives me an application to fill out then has me wait another 10 minutes. After she looks over the application she takes my weight and fat percentage. I then have to wait another 10-15 minutes to speak with the "trainers." Liam and Patrick walk out of room, introduce themselves, then ask to follow them into their office. We all have a seat and they begin throwing all these questions out. I felt as if I were in an interrogation room. Not to mention another lady went home crying, but I'm sure her review will be on here soon. They constantly asked "why should we include you in our training?" They bashed me for my weight and other numbers and laughed right in my face. I was very uncomfortable the entire time. I sat there and listened with no complaints. But, the disrespect from them was unbelievable. They begin to throw numbers out saying it would cost $599 up front. Or you could pay $274 now and by Saturday (which was three days later) to pay another $274. However, I was under the impression that it was free so NO I did not bring $599 or $274. I put $50 to hold my spot. Honestly because it felt like I had no choice. Of course I did, but it was like I pressured to do so. They had me sign all these papers and then sent me out the door. Later that day when I came to my census, I realized Twice Bitten Crossfit was not the place for me. I figured I would forfeit my spot and let someone else join the challenge. I tried calling their business number over ten times that day and no one answered. I even tried texting and calling the numbers that sent text messages from. Literally, still to this day (five days later) I have not been able to speak with anyone via phone, text, or email. After the first two days of not being able to get ahold to anyone I drove up there (thirty minute drive) and of course no one was at the desk. Destiny walks in and help the two other people in front of me. After waiting over 20 minutes, she then ask what do I need. I tell her what's been going on and I would like forfeit my spot and receive a refund. She asks me to wait then head over to Liam's office. Again, I sit there for 10 minutes. She finally tells me "oh the lady that does the refunds isn't here today." Still no one has answered my calls, texts, or emails. So what I'm trying to say is: STAY AWAY! read more

I went in for a consultation. After they mentioned the price I asked if I could get back with them as I had just lost my job. Flash forward a month later, I now have a job that makes it easily affordable but I have to work during the time slot they want you to come. I received an email claiming they were going to charge me for the month. They basically said it was my fault. I had signed zero paper work. I reminded them of this and still they tried to act like I was somehow indebted to them. They didn't back off until I told them I would press criminal charges for fraud if they tried to charge me. Being in my 50's saying I was a little intimidated was an understatement. I felt welcome from the first moment I walked in the door. They evaluate and start you at your own pace with a challenging environment where you want to succeed and grow. I have seen improvements in my strength and balance in the short time I have been here. It's the last week of December (2016) and, since joining in August, I've lost four inches off my waist, I'm beginning to see some an muscles, and I'm experiencing a serious transformation. Attn Newcomers!!! If you are COMMITTED to making an entire lifestyle decision, this is your gym. They have you covered in all aspects from the plethora of nutrition orientation to get you started, the foundations program and CrossFit programming is top notch, the equipment is great and the people are amazing. It's a wonderful little community. All that being said, if you know 0% about crossfit, don't be scared to try it. It IS intimidating and sort of overwhelming in the beginning. After the six week challenge, I was hooked and continued my journey with the 8 week passport. I trusted the process and kept showing up and the results were amazing. However, this review is especially directed towards the new people thinking about trying crossfit. It cost money, everything cost money. We all know nothing in this world is free. Gym shop and find the right fit, they all cost somewhere between $125-$165/ month! Some provide military discounts, but ALL crossfit gyms are expensive. This isn't your 10 Gym or, planet fitness or local YMCA, not even close. They have great coaches and staff to help you get going, but YOU are the determining factor in your success. Crossfit is a lifestyle and commitment YOU have to make to YOURSELF and be willing to put in the work to get the results. I've heard in a previous review that Liam and Patrick "interrogate ", but this is a special community and they want to make sure you are ready for change. They have drop in class punch cards if you'd like to try it before you buy it or feel pressured. Most gyms have the pricing posted. I made the decision that this is my fitness journey moving forward. CrossFit has ruined me from regular gyms. I hope this review was helpful and good luck to anyone who needs that push to get started! The box is fantastic. The ads you see on social media seem a little much, and that almost scared me away. Don't make the mistake I almost did if that's you too! Everyone at the gym is fantastic. The coaches are knowledgeable and give you motivation to push harder than you thought you could. The people in class with you are encouraging and welcoming to everyone. Whether you're an elite athlete looking for a new gym or haven't done anything more than eat chips and drink coke for years, Twice Bitten Crossfit is the perfect spot for you. This is one of the rudest encounters I have ever experienced. They were very aggressive, very nosy, they do not have an ounce of compassion in their approach. What's more than that I had someone with me who has experience in weightlifting and spotted several people working out in unsafe manners and nobody correcting their form which could leave them prone to injury. They acted as if their time was more valuable than mine, this after sending me several text messages and emails wanting to make sure I was coming. I guess they only want sheep that are going to follow them without question. I went to see if this was going to be a good fit for me after being thru some very trying experiences over the last three years and had lost motivation but felt like I was at a place now where I could start getting back on track. I saw the ad on Facebook for a FREE 6 week challenge, supposedly they want to do this for free to show how good their gym is, basically you become a marketing tool for them to use, which is great for FREE. Ah, but nothing in life is free. After signing up and prior to my initial interview to get in the challenge, I got a bunch of texts, emails, and a call from two of the coaches, all hyping up how excited they were to meet me and have me join. One coach wanted my story, things I had done in the past, what worked what didn't, so I spent some time typing a long text message reply back with my whole fitness history. 2 other men went through the interview or pre-screening with me. It was not with one of the coaches who were so excited to meet you, it was with, well I am not sure who. Owner, finance manager, not sure, he never said. He asked a bunch of questions about our history, goals, barriers. I was informed that you have to follow their meal plan, buy groceries weekly off their list, take pictures of the groceries you bought and post or send them somewhere to prove you actually bought them. I thought that was a bit much but I can understand as they want you to get results if they are doing this for you for FREE, they can't prove it works if you eat like a pig and don't see any results. Now to the free part, if you consider FREE meaning putting down a $599 deposit, then you need to check the definition of free again, which is "not costing or charging anything" but they are charging a $599 deposit. I didn't ask but I am guessing if you quit before you complete the 6 weeks they keep your deposit. If you complete the challenge then that money is either put towards a membership, or refunded, but I feel like I would have to jump through hoops and be made to feel guilty to get my money back if I completed the FREE course. The fees to join are $49 a week, i.e. $200 a month. You will not find any pricing on the website. Every other crossfit I looked at in OKC lists their prices and are cheaper. They know they are high and they want to get you in the door before they hit you with the sticker shock of their prices and contract commitment. They may be a fantastic crossfit gym, but they act like they are the only game in town, things ONLY they have access to. I've seen small country crossfit gyms getting amazing results, so get off your high horse. The guy who interviewed me, not sure if he is just a lier or uneducated, but he said their nutritionist was the youngest person to ever graduated with his PhD. Umm, wrong, hell I couldn't even find anything about this person online, but I found many others younger than him with a PhD. That was long but it pissed me off they didn't tell the truth up front and waisted my time and gas to drive there, when had they told me up front about the "deposit", I would not have been interested. Seems like false advertising to me. Along with the fact that the interview process just seemed kind of, scummy I guess, I would not trust them want to give me my deposit back after I completed the challenge. I bet they do everything they can not to give it back. I feel like they owe me money for my waisted time and mileage driven to get there. read more

With anything it boils down to what works for you. Crossfit works for me. I always thought you had to be in shape to do crossfit. That is incorrect. I am 5'2" and was 159lbs when I started. I used to be a thin and very active person, However, after having my daughter and a lot of bad habits, I became overweight. I finally had enough and tried Crossfit. I cannot do pull ups or certain other exercise, However, there are a lot of things I can do. There are modifications for everything. If you join a good gym with great coaches that know what they are doing, it is a great fitness program. It is not just a cardio program. If you work hard, you will get stronger and fitter. You have to know your limits and listen to your body. Injuries can and do occur with every sport, and every fitness program period. Most of the injuries associated with Crossfit are not because of a program or coach, it is because the 'athlete" does not listen or know their body. Every gym can have over crowding or lack of enough equipment. etc. Find what works for you. Try a few if need be to find what you like. Twice Bitten CrossFit is awesome. Since going consistently in the last two months, I have lost 10 lbs and 3% body fat. I have became stronger and feel so much better. I have had to deal with modifications, injuries (not from Crossfit) and getting my mind set right. But have persevered through it and found that CrossFit works for me. Just because it may not work for you, does not make it a bad program. It works for thousands of people. One thing you have to remember also with CrossFit is check your ego at the door! Went in today for a "free 6 week challenge" consultation. Seemed solid--nutrition, meal planning, coaching, CrossFit. Red flags before to start with: 1) AGGRESSIVE reminders about the intake--I received 4 emails, 9 texts, and a prerecorded phone call all reminding me about the appointment over less than 48 hours; 2) No pricing available for their regular CrossFit on their website; 3) the "free" challenge was not free at all. You have to either sign up and give them $599 up front which is then applied to an on-going program after the 6 weeks, or sign a contract for $49/week for 12 months, less the number of pounds you lost during the challenge in dollars. Eg, you lose 20#, then your total monthly cost would be (49*4) - 20; 4) the cancellation fee is listed on their contract as $250 per month for "each remaining month" of the contract. When I brought that up with Coach Liam, he said it was a one time fee. I pointed out again that was not what it said and read it aloud to him. He argued the point with me and said it was a one time fee, but was willing to change the language on the contract for me, so that's nice, but then he said, "you're making a commitment, aren't you? You're not planning to quit, are you? Or do you want to fall through the cracks?" 5) when asked whether I could see a sample nutrition plan I was initially denied, claiming intellectual property. I was finally given a sample to peruse. I have no doubt sticking with their program will help you lose weight. But so will any other CrossFit/strict nutrition plan, and the other CrossFit's in the area are monthly debits, not 12 month contracts, and are far less expense. In sum, the "Free 6 week challenge" at TwiceBit CrossFit is anything but free. Very disappointed by the bait and switch. As a former gymnast and bike racer, crossfit was always that "weirdo" that you avoided to not hurt yourself or screw up performance in your "real" sport. When I decided to give it a try, overcome some of my bad eating and reliance on cardio (bike), I knew I had to go with a trusted source. I printed the business cards for the gym when they first opened 6 years ago, so I knew there was longevity. I drove by often as I was out, I saw their expansion and knew something must be going right. Still, I was put off by the sales-y bull crap that goes with getting someone in a gym. It's taken 2 months of thoughts rolling around in my head to get to writing this review, and I'm glad I have waited to give a fair assessment. When I first started, it was a 3. Sales-y, pushy, seemingly endless e-mails and text reminders. Then there was the fear of "how will I do?" "these things are going to kill me". Every coach there is taught to adapt, adapt to lack of fitness, injury, confidence, nutrition, scale the workouts to get the best from each person. I have never felt left behind by the coaches. As I got past the initial marketing onslaught, I was able to dig into the workouts, learn from the coaches, learn more about what my body can do. Meeting more people and seeing the results a few months down the road produces, my review kept raising. I had setbacks to temper the high notes. A couple weeks where the scale didn't move, a torn calf muscle, seeming like I was on an island some days. The thing I like most, how little thinking is required. I have built training plans for gymnasts, golfers, and MTB racers. I don't have to think about my training plan! I come in, workout is set, and we go through it together under the watchful and helpful eyes of the coaches. Question? Ask it! They will help. Bad shoulder? Let's try this instead. Body starting to give up? Everyone will cheer you on. I am a fairly solitary individual, some might even say a grinch, but the community aspect is growing on me. At first, I didn't want the support; I wanted to be left alone in my misery. Now, I get to give my support to others and it feels much better. What have I accomplished in 2 months? I am down from 190 to 167lbs and down almost 9% body fat. I don't mind seeing myself in the mirror as much. My favorite part is having a number to attach to how much weight I can lift now. It's given me permission to know how strong I can be. Lots of work to go, but I know I will be supported and we can all get better together. My review is for Twice Bitten Crossfit. I don't have experience at any other crossfit gym. My experience with others workout facilities is that you are a number and that numbers is what comes out of your bank account each month. You may love your current gym. That is wonderful, whatever fuels you, do it. You may have gotten turned off by the used car sales tactics, get past it. There is a reason you decided to look at TBC or any gym. Find the motivation to get over the initial speed bump. You owe it to yourself and you owe it to whoever motivates you. All of my coaches have been so encouraging and able to modify and scale workouts for the beginner in me! It is so encouraging to be part of a gym community for all fitness levels. Twice BItten Crossfit is amazing. I was active in sports and working out for several years, and I've never ever ever found a group this good! 14 yrs ago I was in a bad car accident that has limited my gym activities. I joined this gym because I wanted to take myself to the next level and try to get back in shape the way I used to be. The coaches are awesome guys and take fitness to a whole new level. The coaches are great Crossfit trainers and have developed seemingly unending ways for me to get in the best physical shape of my life, and have fun doing it! They are truly dedicated to "being Fit for Life". They constantly push you to improve and offer great constructive criticism and 1 on 1 personal coaching on tons of new workouts. The motto is "It's Not your typical gym", which is very true. The Gym is basically a playground for athletes...... There is loud music, grunting, sweating, large weights dropping, climbing, swinging, jumping, flipping, and much more.... all stuff that doens't exist at big box gyms. The facility houses all the basic equipment plus tons of extra's like rows of Squat Racks, pull-up bars, Gymnastic rings, rope climbing, Tractor Tires, weighted sleds, and I can go on. In boot camp all workouts are scaled to the athlete's ability, so anyone can partake. Both men and women are very active in the gym. Mind you though, Crossfit is for those who want to push themselves to improve, not really for those who just want a casual workout. All in all the gym is great and a lot of fun, the workouts and the program are outstanding, and the coaches couldn't be better. The real cherry on top is that when you join you're becoming a part of our community. I've been a member now for a month and I absolutely LOVE this place! More importantly than the workouts are the coaches they have. Jason Clark is one of the main reasons why I go there as much as I do. One time I missed a full week and Jason texted me and told me "I need you here this morning". That provided me enough motivation to get out of the funk I was in and I've been doing well ever since. Even though the workouts are challenging, the coaches will give you easier versions while helping you push yourself for maximum results. They even have nutrition classes and FB groups to help you outside the box. 5 stars!!! The only suggestion I would give is to install a "Big Ass Fan" or Air Conditioning. I never understood being addicted to the gym until I started going to TBC. Everyone there is so welcoming and the coaches are truly there for you. I've beeen on vacation for the last week and I'm already missing my extended family. The coaches will show you how to do the movements and work with you until you get bettter. Don't worry about not being able to do something because of a bum knee or hurt shoulder, this gym will find a modification that will still give you a great workout without hurting yourself in the process. Super helpful and friendly staff! I was intimidated by crossfit and they helped me with proper form and technique. They take the time with everyone and make it an accepting atmosphere. Awesome Gym!! This is the first gym I have been to that actually makes you feel welcomed like you are at home!! They actually help you and don't dismiss you and send you on your way to workout with no instructions. It's a great workout everyday of the week and I love that it's a group setting! I have always been cautious about crossfit due to some of the extremes I have seen. This is NOT that at all. These people care about your form and reps. They want the best workout injury free. I have never been cheered on by so many people I don't know. I'm sure there will be rough days, but these people will pull you through the soreness, injury And personal bests. read more

From the moment you walk in the door you are in the capable hands of a team that genuinely care and are involved in seeing you meet your goals and improving your life. Infectious positivity. A place that focuses on helping everyday people get the routine that helps them improve their lives. That's really what sets twice bitten apart - they commit to and do exactly what they say they will. It's not the kind of gym you spend 5 minutes in a treadmill, kick some weights and go home bored. The challenges, encouragement and individualized levels make working out addictive. All the staff are beyond excellent, experienced, watchful and happy to share that advice. Class sizes are well balanced. Absolutely on point with nutrition and what you need to take care of yourself. Walking in and starting here was one of the most positive life changes I've made. I have never done Crossfit, but I LOVE it! The hour goes by so fast. I have always been slim and considered myself a pretty active person. However, once I hit my late 40's I started gaining weight. I was still running and felt my diet was okay, but the weight just continued to climb. For the first time in my life I started trying all those fad diets that people do. I am just now finishing my third week and I have lost several pounds and body fat! I feel great and the trainers and nutritionists are wonderful. They are very responsive and their teaching techniques are great. I'm so glad I found this gym. read more
