If you're looking for coaches for who genuinely care and want to see their clients do and feel…read morewell, this is the place! I spent a year or longer after moving to Pittsburgh attending classes in many different gyms around the city. I've found other establishments that I enjoy and get great work outs in and click with the coaches but no one compares to the service received at Panthro from Chris and his team. Chris is passionate and knowledgeable in what he does with clients. Not only have I seen some of the best results in my body but feel great and know I'm at the strongest I've been. No doubt I'm going into 30 in the best shape of my life. Chris frequently checks in and remembers problem areas or things I have been working on. If I'm having trouble with an area, he is quick to suggest and demonstrate specific stretches and adjust any of the days work out to ensure the best and most effective experience. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough!! I have 2-3 gyms on my list that I love in Pittsburgh but hands down, Panthro is it! It's small, intimate and such a welcoming gym. I've taken classes with Chris and Casey but trust that Chris brings the best coaches to his team!

Class experience: Whether strength or bootcamp, every class feels new, thoughtful, and carefully designed to work my body. The trainers are always very helpful in providing modifications to exercises to accommodate injuries. The trainers also are helpful in providing feedback on form and motivation. For me, it feels like I have my own personal trainer for a fraction of the price. Community: Not only are the trainers amazing at Panthro, but the people who go to Panthro are as well. When you go to Panthro, you also join a friendly and encouraging community. Results: My body is noticeably different now from when I started. I am stronger and have better muscle definition--receiving multiple compliments from friends and family. The result I appreciate the most is a significant reduction in injuries and recovery times. Pulling a muscle in my back at home? Nope Fatigued after a vigorous day of yard work or helping someone move? Nada. My main motivation for going to the gym is to care for my body and enable me to live my best life--Panthro certainly provides that value for me.

In my opinion it's a great deal and if you are an early riser like me you need the time in the morning after a good work out. I had been eyeballing this place since we moved here and really just had let Cross fit go because I knew they didn't have any 0500 am classes, plus I hadn't really got into my schedule. I finally decided to give something with them a try. When I reached out I was invited to my first class, I was more than willing to pay, however they will let you try your first class for free I was in love!! Bootcamp is literally everything you would do at CF minus the Olympic lifts. I love Emily, she is super cheerful at 0500 and her WV accent is adorable, Ashley is awesome too:) I do plan on getting into CF, however I think that doing the bootcamp is a great introduction to CF. The work outs will make you sore, and yes they are hard. The classes that I am doing now in my option are Great! The instructors are awesome and truth be told I can't wait to start Crossfit! Friendly owners and a great facility! I will update when I do my first week of Crossfit:)

The door was up 19th across from iron born pizza! We took the booty buster class which had five people total including myself at 7am and was in an intimate class setting. I liked that it was small since it felt like the instructor got to make sure all of us had correct form. The instructor had good energy and the facility was quite cute with lots of neon signs.

I was new to this type of class, and the instructor, Cody, was so helpful with getting me setup and prepared for what to expect during class. As soon as the class starts, you're going nonstop for those 30 minutes. It actually flies by, though, with the awesome playlists and the motivation of the instructor. It's a killer workout that leaves muscles you didn't even know you had sore the next day. I can't recommend Elevate enough! Plus, they're located right in the Strip, so you can treat yourself to an I.C. Light at Primanti's after. COVID updates - They took our temperature upon arrival and had us sign a form. They also give everyone their own towel and bottle of sanitizer to spray the machine before and after class.

This is review rating may not be for everyone…read more Amerifit is a gym where many serious body builders work out. This is an anti-Planet Fitness (there are no pizza days). This place is where private personal trainers take on clients who do not have an affiliation with Planet Fitness. You can pay $5 per day if you want to meet occasionally. What the casual person may see upon entering: You will hear lots of grunting and weights being dropped. Do not be intimidated. The folks (men and ladies) are doing this for competitions (usually). The place may seem run down (older weights / machines). Do not let this deceive you. The place may seem small. Again - do not let this deceive you. They have smaller rooms / areas. They do have classes upstairs that seem pretty intense (not my cup of tea). Why 4 Stars: 1. I followed my trainer (which means I chose my trainer at a location where we could work out). My previous trainers were great but I did not necessarily like the gym (too crowded or not enough room to work out). 2. Equipment variety. Example - Cardio Equipment. Usually when you go into a gym, you will have a treadmill, a stepper, a recumbent bike, bike, elliptical) - All one type. Amerifit provides a variety of machines such as Cybex. Cybex is your traditional elliptical but you can control the elevation as well. They also have machines that will simulate ice skating 3. Intensity - You do see people seriously working out. This can either motivate or intimidate you. It motivates me. I can also see folks doing exercises correctly. 4. The folks are nice. All the associates I have met are very nice. I apologize to the serious body builders for writing this review, but I think this is a very good secret to share. Find you a trainer, meet him/her at Amerifit, and workout. This is not a chain gym where everything is new with standard (usually leased) equipment.
