Big fan of this place, wish I knew about it sooner as there are very few places you can go for just $8/person for each game and my favorite one closed in South Park area. It did have a pretty long line on a Saturday evening however it went fairly smoothly & wasn't terrible to wait, the area is pretty much in the shade so no hot sun on you the whole time for a hot day. I finally made it to Forsythe Mini Golf and Snacks. Such a cute farm woodsy decor with hanging lights, mature trees and split rail fences. I stopped by after a walk in Carnegie Park, literally next door, for a snack. Their speciality is homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches. I split the s'mores with my hubby and was surprised when they offered to cut the sandwich in half... what a nice service. There are a couple of tables to the right of the snack stand. Our first time at Forsythe was awesome! The string lights throughout the course made for a very nice setting! For $8 per adult for a game you get a nice amount of holes with some tricky obstacles. It's definitely one of the best courses I've been to in the Pittsburgh area. It does get fairly busy so be prepared to wait a little bit- but that's when you get to chat with your friends! I love the snacks and concessions they provide as well! They have many different cookie ice cream sandwiches to choose from which is so fun. I'm not gonna lie, I came here for an icecream sandwich and it did not disappoint! I got black cherry icecream in 2 chocolate cookies with Andes around it. Omg...I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing! It was so good (and huge). Do you know what also didn't disappoint? The mini golf! It was pretty crowded when we went and it looks like your basic mini golf, but it was actually a lot of fun and I honestly didn't feel too rushed. There definiely was always someone directly in front of us and directly behind us the whole time, but everyone was just having a good time and enjoying playing. The service here was quick and friendly! This is a really great mini golf course that uses the landscape to its advantage. The course is fun and challenging for kids and adults, alike. It's definitely a unique course! It may be a little difficult for someone with mobility issues to play golf here, unfortunately. My friend and I took my three daughters here to play mini golf and have some ice cream. This was our first time here with the girls. My friend is a seasoned patron. There were five of us total, so first off again we were first timers. Second, being first timers, we slowed everyone up behind us due to group size and learning the game. We were courteous and would move over and allow other groups to go ahead of us. We had such a great time here. We got out on a warm day and forgot about anything else other than having a good time. We had ice cream afterwards, which the kids loved. We sat off the opposite side of the ice cream stand from where you play golf. It's a nice little seating area with picnic tables, covered in trees. If your looking for a serene, adorable miniature golf course, this is it! We had so much fun at Forsythe Miniature Golf! We went around 8:00 p.m., and it was pretty crowded. We didn't have anywhere to be, so the wait in between holes didn't bother us. They have a few "specialty" holes, which we really enjoyed. For instance, there are a few holes that have multiple cups, and if you get it in the more difficult, gold cup, you subtract a stroke from your final score. Hole 8 was one of of favorites because you got to hit the ball from the top of a hill down to the green. It was $7 per person, which seems to be the average for mini golf just about everywhere anymore (they do take cards). If you get a hole in one on hole 19, you get a free game! On the way out, I saw that they had a little ice cream shack and a place to grab snacks. It was set up in an old fashioned manner; we plan to try the ice cream during our next visit! read more

The unique terrain & topography adds a unique twist to playing, and unlike most mini-golf courses, this one is not built on a flat surface, but in a wooded valley. I took my neighbor here for a round of mini golf after recently attending a YELP event at this same place. While the course is challenging the walkways are not let alone climbing over the barrier to the tee off area where you are starting to play that hole. My neighbor had knee replacement surgery some time ago and I had to hold her hand often to keep her from falling on some of the holes. You can of course play "outside" the green of the hole you are facing but with a challenging course it's best to play inside. I myself, was the one to fall on a loose rock near the putting area somewhere around hole #5 but can't exactly recall which one since it was in the first valley. The course uses the natural terrain to make it more challenging and if you are just playing for fun and laughs then keeping score is a mute point. Hole #19 is one of the most tricky because you have to swing the ball into a pipe in order to win a free game. Since it is highly sloped you need to aim and swing properly. Neither of us won but had fun regardless. After the game we both stopped for their famous ice cream sandwiches. The cookies are made from scratch by the owner Christie. They use Hershey's ice cream as a filling. You can purchase either a premade one or build one from scratch for the same price. The two of us sat down at one of the tablecovered picnic tables in the back to enjoy our treats. As always they were very good. They have a nice deck in the back overlooking the property and using the natural terrain to create things such as a weathervane on a tree stump adds a personal touch. I spoke to Christie's husband about my injury after the game and he told me that they do take steps to improve the safety of the grounds and will check out the area where I stumbled and fell. My injuries were minor but yet I feel they need to improve the walkways throughout the course to make it more family friendly and safer. They have a very small parking lot which I would imagine gets crowded at night. Game prices are very reasonable for the challenging course you get to play. Located on Forsythe Street in Carnegie, it sits next to Carnegie Park and is an easy drive to the parkway west. read more

On Thursday night, I got to preview Forsythe Miniature Golf & Snacks. This place is absolutely magical. This establishment is family owned - Sam & Kristi are the best! Nestled in a park, there's plenty of room for parking and fun for the whole family. This 19 mini golf course is perfect for a date night or fun for the whole family. You can take your time playing mini golf and enjoying this gorgeous spot. They also have a nice deck and patio area if you want to hang out with friends and family while enjoying the night out. They have homemade ice cream sandwiches. They are delicious! There are many different varieties to choose from! I made my own - a butter sugar cookie, French vanilla ice cream, and sprinkles. What an absolutely adorable place! I have driven by this mini golf course so many times and I've always wanted to stop. Lucky enough for us I got to enjoy a Yelp elite night event there. My husband and I arrived and were created with a smile and happy workers! They explained all of the details and we got to and running! The golf course is pretty tight, not a lot of room between each hole. So if you have trouble walking around please be careful. The holes were very challenging and I really enjoyed the competition with my husband. After a completion of the course you get to go to the 19th hole and try to shoot your ball in a tube for a free game. My husband was lucky and won a free game! After being beaten by my husband we enjoyed wonderful homemade ice cream sandwiches from the mini golf snack bar. We can't wait to come back. read more

We are so happy that the park is open again this season! During the off time, they put a lot of work into the course. They made subtle changes like wooden number plaques on each hole, built steps on those holes that needed them, and changed the rocks around the course. The biggest change is now instead of just a small candy bar snack stand, they serve ice cream & ice cream sandwiches. The cookies for the sandwiches are delicious! Forsythe hosted a family friendly Yelp Elite event this evening. My first Yelp Elite Squad event and my first time to this hidden gem. Tucked away, this place feels like a secret hideaway. When you first see the course, there's nothing flashy and it appears to be nothing special. No dinosaurs, no flashing lights, etc. But once you start playing, you realize how challenging and creative the layout really is- and it is same layout that has been in place for 75 years. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and it has been in her family for several generations. The staff is super friendly and thoughtful. There are nice touches- like they provide lanyard clip boards for your score card. We were also able to have three huge samples of their homemade ice cream sandwiches- worth a stop just for those! Fresh baked cookies on the premises, and you can create your own ice cream sandwich concoction! I would highly suggest wearing insect repellant, as there are lots of trees and you are on the edge of the woods. I can't wait to bring the rest of my family here soon! read more

We went here with a large family group of ranging from age 9 to 48. The course was charming - loved the lights at night! The uphill incline holes challenged even the best golfers in the group. My teen was really frustrated, but everyone else rolled with it and just had fun. I am a terrible golfer and was able to hit two hole-in-ones, so not every hole is crazy hard. A few of us got the ice cream cookie sandwiches afterwards and they were DELICIOUS - definitely one of the highlights of the night! read more
