This is a great facility! Wonderful community to drop into and a great coaching staff. They have a full service nutrition bar and dedicated physical therapist if you are in need. I recommend this box for its community and welcoming spirit. I had a lot of fun dropping in to the space.I will definitely be back! Thank you all at CFBYB

We recently joined Stafford Hills Club after touring four other gyms including the new Lake Oswego…read moreaquatic center which did not impress me but it was nice. After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

"A place where everybody knows your name... and you're always glad you came." [1]…read more My review is based on my membership of one year where I've consistently visited 4x/week. Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. [1] I am currently re-watching this classic sitcom and while not aging well in the post Me Too era, still good for a lot of laughs.

But seriously, this gym is so much cleaner, including the pool, showers and locker rooms. It's a much newer physicality and in a building they built, so it should be better. Came here when The Pearl pool was closed for repairs and I was really impressed. Loved the pool! It seems to be 25 meters whereas The Pearl is 25 yards, and it makes a difference. Lots of natural light coming in from the huge windows, which I love when I'm swimming. And it's not as crowded. I had the lane to myself for an hour while others came, swam, and left, sharing the other lanes. My only complain is the steps going into the pool are quite high. I'm currently using a cane as I'm dealing with hip issues, and it was challenging for me to take that first step in, and then to take that last step out. The other locations have half steps leading into the pool making it easier, and safer, for those who are handicapped or dealing with injuries to access the pool. The locker room is much larger, has several areas where you can sit on a bench and be out of the way So everyone is. It in top of each other. The showers were so much cleaner! And there is plenty of room on the counter for your stuff while you dry your hair and get ready afterwards. It took me about 20 minutes to get there, with no traffic, so it won't be my everyday gym since The Pearl is just 10 minutes away. But I'll definitely use this pool on days I have appointments out in Tualatin, which is often, or when I have extra time and want to enjoy a better swim.

One of the reasons…read morethat I was looking forward to this club was that I could work from here and then get a workout in. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is so spotty, down more often than not, that I can't imagine being able to do any kind of work from the club. This also makes it challenging to use any kind of app which requires Wi-Fi in order to track your progress when you're lifting. The second reason I dropped my star rating was because there are a number of machines, for example the large cable machine in the main workout area, that are missing most of their weight stickers. Unless you are familiar with the weight progression of that specific machine, you are guessing at what weight you are actually lifting. Final issue, the attachments for the cable machine over in the room which has the Astroturf are very worn. A few are missing the rings to even connect and people have tied knots into the strap in order to make it work. These may seem minor but for the price you pay for a membership plus the sign-up fee, I would expect these little things to be easily taken care of.

A year, and 14-15 appointments it has set the physical clock back years! Aksana has been a literal life saver for me and I am forever grateful!

They have new classes like 50 minute…read morecardio or 50 minute strength training, which is great because that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Trainers are super nice and able to give suggestions for modifications. Likely better if you know your own modifications. Lighter weights are to the right of the door if you need 5 pounds. The traditional class which is half cardio and half weight training is a little different than pre-Covid. The biggest difference is they focus on what you're doing, not where your heart rate is. At my class we did a lot of hills. And there was no mention of aiming for red zone. There were mentions of last push or empty your tank, but not aiming for specific colors. Which was great for me because when my heart rate gets too high, I pass out. The heart rate system is really amazing in each machine from treadmill or roar can identify your band and you can choose your profile for your machine. It doesn't work on the weights, ( choosing your station because it doesn't matter). I think the heart rate monitor is optional. However, having that option to identify for the machine and tracking little more detail of what you're doing and getting the email somebody at the end is very motivating and really great. I really liked everyone on staff and everyone was very welcoming and kind even if you're not a 20 year-old fitness influencer. I also really like how there's plenty of parking and very easy access to the facility.

I obtained a gym membership. (I get a discount through my health insurance and chose the Marquis Community over other gyms that offer more classes but do not have a salt-water pool). I was initially very excited about the salt-water pool and gym. However... The Marquis does not list their fitness classes or pool schedule on-line. I went to their website and looked for information. I filled out a "Contact Us" form. (It went no where. Perhaps a glitch but this has happened to me a few times.) The definition of a "senior" or "uniquely-abled person" is we may have limitations. How do I know which services, classes, gym schedule, pool schedule I wish to access if I cannot locate the information? I should not have to get a ride to the Marquis in order to obtain a schedule or program information in order to plan my day, week, month. On the positive side, the salt-water pool is amazing. The gym has some nice equipment and is clean. The locker room is accessible. The rest of the Marquis (fireplace, puzzle/books in the lobby, coffee bar, seated areas) is a pleasant place to spend time. I just wish I had a schedule! Amazing new gym in Tigard…read more I recently moved to Oregon and had been working out at 24 Fitness. it seems all of them in the area are absolutely disgusting. I finally had enough, and went on a search for a new facility. I had worked out at Golds years ago and liked them, so I googled and found this place. Wow, what a great facility! They have every machine you could want, and more. The place is spotless, smells good and isn't overly crowded. It's also a new concept Gold's Gym. So it seems very modern and up to date. The staff are really friendly and helpful. And the members seems to respect the quality and cleanliness of the gym. Parking is also easy and plentiful. And its in a nice new business park. I've never had this problem before but the music is so loud i can't hear my own stuff hardly with headphones on. So i have to compromise my hearing Tons of hidden fees. They rip you off on cancellation and don't warn you about it. The sales rep literally told me none of the things that would happen during cancellation despite me asking. And its earned them a 1 star review That and the fact that I was told to put my shoes on during a squat lift for "safety". Meanwhile people on the legpress didn't have shoes on and had 800+ pounds on it What else earned golds a 1 star review? Well the cleaning team that we are undoubtedly paying for is forced to slave away multiple hours EVERY DAY - deep cleaning the equipment, vacuuming the floors ( daily ). I can understand cleaning the lockers but not doing a deep clean of the entire gym. And i'm sure we are paying for that. These cleaners look so tired and over worked This gym lacks a t bar row machine, cable attachments, it only has 3 cable machines ( or two depending on how you look at it ). The machines are old and worn out. Some of them are way too easy or assist you way too much. Good luck doing back day here without free weights. The machines for back day are awful. No landmines. Or special barbells. only one cambarid bar for bicep curls. Constantly in use. Very crowded gym. There is a plumbing issue ( a sink constantly leaking ) which is an easy fix but they've put it off for 8+ months. The showers are constantly out of order needing maintenance. The lockers are broken into constantly so good luck there. The locker doors are constantly broken. Soaps and bathrooms are fine. Sauna is fine. Dumbbells are OK and weights are OK. Some leg machines are good. I really appreciated their calf press, sissy squat machine, and nordic curl machine. But the gym is lacking good arm machines, chest machines, shoulder machines, back, bicep, forearm. Etc., When cancelling, I was forced to pay for AN EXTRA month that i will not use. Even though I cancelled within the window for my current month Cardio equipment is OK 8/10 my biggest issue with this gym is the cost - its $60 / month and i feel like the only benefit to me was its close to my place and you get to work out with experienced lifters but it felt like a bunch of experienced lifters that were putting up with bad equipment. But other than that its way over priced for all these issues - i found a better gym on the east side of portland which had nicer locker rooms, bigger locker rooms, a pool, racketball, basketball, cycling rooms, more cardio equipment with a view, more cable machines, more attachments for the cables and more variety, bigger locker rooms and more bathrooms, a towel service, two floors, two yoga rooms and a posing room, and a ton of machines... in fact, it had a tbar row which golds didn't have, better rowing machines and better chest and back equipment. and this gym cost me less than $60 / month with no contract, no cancellation fee, no enhancement fee. no hidden fees, the music isn't too loud. huge upgrade. i'm a former professional bodybuilder and i would never go to golds gym again
