Everyone was friendly. Great spacious gym. Had a great time doing the open workout. Also only $18 drop in fee.

    CrossFit Type 44!

I've been a member here for more than a year. My business takes me across the country frequently, where I make it a point to drop into as many other CrossFit boxes that I can. In addition, I have a multi-sport collegiate athletic background. Given all of this, here are my thoughts: 1. I've never been a part of an exercise program that even comes close to the physical benefits that CrossFit offers. Not. Even. Close. 2. CF44 is as good, or better, than any of the numerous boxes I have dropped into! The equipment is all new, high quality, and plentiful. 3. The box is HUGE. Lots of room to do your thing. 4. The coaching staff (owner/head coach Charles, as well as coaches Bryant and Nole) are absolutely top-notch. They know their stuff. They will not let you overdo things to the point of hurting yourself. They care about form, form, form. They are extremely supportive, even of visiting athletes. Extremely friendly. Extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough about these gents. The list of compliments goes on and on. 5. The WOD programming is also top-notch. Not too heavily weighted towards lifting nor gymnastics. A great blend of all things CrossFit is supposed to be. 6. There are showers! Two, to be precise. And they are clean! This is a must-have for me. 7. The other members are all extremely friendly and supportive. It really is a community of like-minded individuals. 8. The class schedule offers more class times than any box I've been to. 5:30, 6:00, 7:00, 9:00, Noon, 4:00, 5:30, 6:30. Even multiple classes on the weekends, as well as an Oly class on Fridays. 9. There is a kid play area that is both contained by a pony-wall, and in the open, visible to the parents during the WOD. 10. Kids are also welcome to join in the WOD. The program is, of course, made easier for them, but they get the support of the coaches and members just the same as the adults! I could go on and on (and on) about CF44. If you are a visiting CrossFit athlete, this is THE box in Bend to drop into. If you are curious about what, exactly, this CrossFit thing is all about, it offers an excellent opportunity to find out (and at a reduced first month rate). Speaking of rates, it is also the cheapest option I am aware of in Bend (and a steal as compared to other box rates across the country). While I realize that there are several CF options in Bend, CF44 is definitely worth checking out. Just tell them Tim W. sent you!

The locker rooms are absolutely disgusting by the end of the day. They don't have male cleaners here. That means no one is cleaning the men's locker rooms all day. This gym is basically a daycare center mixed with an old people's home. They are always having events and closing the pools. They close early without notice and the hours here are horrible. One of those challenges can be how to continue your workout routine when on the road. While I don't have specific recommendations for how to alleviate this situation in all cities, I can certainly provide some assistance when it comes to Bend, Oregon. The Athletic Club of Bend offers numerous opportunities for you to get that workout in when you're in town for a visit. Their amenities include 7 indoor tennis courts, an indoor running track, indoor and outdoor pools, a large spa, cardio equipment, weight room, a full basketball court, and 4 racquetball/squash courts. While those amenities don't necessarily make this place unique, there are two characteristics that do set this place apart. First, they openly accept visitors to the club. Many clubs are very closed minded about this, but not so here. Sure, you'll have to pay a guest fee, but it was very reasonable. Second, I found the members here to be genuinely welcoming. I chose to utilize the club for some tennis and I felt immediately accepted by a group of members who have a standing weekly match. After just 2 hours together I felt like a part of the group and left with names and phone numbers for the next time that I visit Bend. Sure, you can come up with an excuse to not workout while in Bend, but that excuse can't be that there's no facilities that you have access to or there are no friendly people here to connect with. And that's...Henry's Take. #bendexcercise #bendtennis #bendgym

Great gym in Bend, OR…read more My bf and I worked out at this Snap Fitness while on vacation from California. My bf's father, Charlie, is a local and a member, and he loves it. He pre-arranged our visits. The gym is located in a small complex that houses a few other businesses. Parking is right out the front door in a parking lot dedicated to the complex. Parking was easy during our visits as the gym was never busy while we were there. The gym is open 24 hour and entry is via a card key. The 2-story gym is moderately sized and full of newer mainly Cybex equipment, branded with Snap labels. The floor plan was well thought out. The vaulted ceiling and windows give this gym a very open feel. The main floor areas include the cardio machines (2 types of ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, and 2 step-mills), free weights (barbells and dumbbells), weight machines, a functional workout area with a sleigh and TRX apparatus, restrooms, and locker rooms. The second floor was very open and appeared to be set up for personal training. Equipment upstairs included a few stationary bikes that overlook the main floor and a medium size exercise room where exercise balls, a pull up bar, free weights, a rower, a treadmill, mats, a few TRX stations, and box jump were housed. I did not notice one broken piece of equipment. The vibe was fun, comfortable, and relaxed. Equipment was well spaced. It was nice not to feel crowded in or rushed with someone waiting to use the piece of equipment you are using. The cleanliness of the gym was a huge plus. Everyone seemed to clean up after themselves. Weights were also properly RE-racked. The 2 single user, gender specific restrooms were clean and functional. The female locker room which also housed a single toilet restroom was also clean and well maintained. I did not notice if there was a shower. The staff we ran into were friendly. This SF was perfect for our visit. Thank you, Charlie and SF!
