I was a member for a number of years. Usually very clean and cordial staff. I really enjoyed going there since it was close but dropped my membership for a number of reasons: 1) They switched out the nice Cybex machines for terrible Matrix machines . . plus, less machines. Lots of members complained. Reed Market location kept the Cybex but too far to drive. 2) The Bend gym is a palace compared to other Snap Fitness locations out-of-state. We visited six in Arizona. Most are hole in the walls and not worth the effort to go. Arizona Planet Fitness gyms are similar in size to the Bend location. 3) Upfront $89 fee is ridiculous . . plus, for a couple it would be $79/month. Based on the above, it looks like Planet Fitness is my best bet for decent machines, reasonable price, and good size gyms for out-of-state. read more

In my opinion, the staff at this Bend gym are the worst part of the place. They act like they're doing you a favor just by showing up. Every time I've gone in, IMO they've seemed annoyed to answer simple questions. It feels totally unwelcoming, almost like they don't want new members at all. The equipment's is bad IMO, but honestly, in my opinion the vibe here ruins it. IMO, There are plenty of other gyms in Bend, Oregon that treat you like a human being -- places where the staff are actually friendly and want you to enjoy your workout. If you care about good customer service, I'd strongly recommend checking out other gyms in town instead!!- In my opinion, the staff at this Bend gym are the worst part of the place. i used the local Snap, it was decent but overpriced for what you get, compared to the competition. The gym never listened to my multiple requests to improve and the final straw was their suggestion to put my membership on hold and then they quietly charge me after the hold expired. they refused to reverse the charge and make things right. terrible experience. read more

Incredible display of what not to do when you own a customer focused business. Our friend invited us to try out Snap and when we arrived the gym informed our friend that because we knocked on the locked front door (no sign that says "no knocking") that if he let us in they would take away his membership. It's a very small gym with squeaky equipment. I've heard others have been locked out with memberships, I'd be weary of this establishment. Had been a member for multiple months and had such a strange and off putting encounter with staff. I was using a dumbbell for a HIIT circuit while the people I was exercising with were using a kettle bell. I intentionally chose a dumbbell because of a previous injury. I was about 3 minutes into my exercise when one of the personal trainers came up to me and said "are you using this" to which I said yes, and she responded "were there not anymore 25lb kettle bells?" I responded "I intentionally chose to use a dumbbell" all while actively doing burpees. She continued to stare at me for 3-4 more minutes from across the room. After my workout, I went to inform other staff of the uncomfortable encounter when the trainer came running in and called me "an ass" and "full of attitude". I apologized that my tone came across that way, as that was not my intention, but I was literally in the middle of a set and out of breath. The trainer continued to berate me, telling me I could have found another weight, which is quite interesting coming from a staff member. The other employee simple sat there and shrugged as she stated "its your word against hers". Really off putting that a staff member is comfortable calling a paying customer an ass multiple times, especially since i apologized profusely for the misunderstanding. She really doubled down on the fact that I was a monster for denying her the weight I was actively using. Strange behavior and just unnecessarily unkind. Would not recommend this gym if you enjoy working out in peace. read more

Seems to be dying a slow death. On any given day only 3 out of 7 treadmills are working correctly or working at all. Haven't seen any effort to maintain or repair them. General maintenance and cleaning seem to be in decline as well. Maybe it's a covid side effect? A little attention and reinvestment could make it great again. Time will tell.... Could also benefit from removing excess/unused equipment to free up some more floor space. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with my experience here today. I went in to get a tour of the gym and check it out. Having a sauna is important to me and they only have an infrared sauna. I have never used an infrared sauna and unfortunately it's the only one they have. I wanted to do a free trial (even once) just to make sure that I liked it and they absolutely refused that idea. Not to mention it's not included in your membership and you have to pay an extra $20 a month and can only use it during very limited staff hours. The women working honestly made me not want to get a membership at this gym, she did everything besides sell it. Highly recommended going to a different gym in Bend. Excel gym is cheaper and they have unlimited sauna read more

24/7 access. Convenient location Clean machines. Clean bathrooms. Good working equipment. Rarely out of service (if ever). What's not to like? Can get crowded at peak times, such as right after work (5pm) or before work (6am) but with 24/7 access, I just come later or earlier to avoid the rush. If it is crowded, the gym can feel small. But I've never had to leave because I felt it was too crowded and couldn't get my workout completed. Additionally, there are no high pressure sales people or trainers trying to plus sell you. Snap has two trainers available (for a fee) if that is what you need / want. But at no time do you ever feel pressured to use their services. Likewise, I appreciate that although people might develop friendships or recognize familiar faces and give the obligatory head nod or friendly wave....this isn't where you come to find your next date or even ogle at others working out. I am just visiting and would like to give this gym three and a half or four stars, but there are just a lot of cut corners. I have visited around 20 Snap Fitnesses all over the Western US. As far south as Tucson, as far East as Houston, Tx, as far North as Redmond, Wa and I am from Eugene. This one is far from the worst. First off, because their are only two bathrooms, and that is where the showers are, if two people decide to take showers at the same time, it means no going to the toilet until they are done. Second, it is small, but what Snap Fitness isn't. It does suffer from a common problem, though. CYBEX!!!! I assume Snap Fitness franchisees get a special deal from Cybex. I see Snap Fitnesses with Cybex machines, and often just Cybex machines, commonly with "Snap Fitness" branded on them, which is what this gym has, all accross the west. These Cybex machines are just a little off compared to a more common type of gym machines. I assume this is because they are designed to avoid paying licensing fees to the patent holders of the other machines. Plus, Cybex is likely able to charge licensing fees to the gyms that buy their machines, but who knows. The point is, many of the Cybex machines just feel a little wrong to workout on. For example, I just did the leg press machine, which was way easier then the weight indicated. Probably because of the odd angle of press. Plus, there were no numbers to indicate seat adjustments. How am I supposed to know where to put the seat tomorrow? It has like eight holes!?! Third, Cybex markets and has supplied to this gym as their exclusive elliptical the below picture machine. This is not an elliptical. An elliptical, when used, as indicated by its name, puts your feet in an elliptical pattern when viewed from the side. Sadly, yelp does not allow me to post the video I took of my neighbor on this device. The motion for this Cybex "elliptical" is a swing. This is a leg swing. Something like a cross between a stairclimber and a treadmill. This is Cybex running from paying fees to another patent holder, probably. Not to mention all the bad welds Cybex tries to hide with a decent paint job. Cheap, cheap, cheap. That is what Cybex is and what this Snap Fitness is full of. But it is clean, the clientele and staff seem nice and I was able to complete 95% of the lift workout I do in my Eugene Snap. Usually, it is closer to 75% in a Cybex Snap location. The drinking fountain has exquisite pressure, and the machines allow you to develop a pronounced preference for your dominate side. They've got dumb bells in 5 pound increments with chromed knurling to provide palm exfoliation while you glare at the gawkers in the mirror. I've been pleased with the self governing of the regulars, and grateful for the fresh Simple Green scent laid down by the previous occupant of any machine I choose. Vending machines prices are barely above wholesale, and the selection is popular. All-in-all I've been happier with this gym membership than I was before I got it. Stay snappy. read more

WORST experience ever cancelling a memebership. THEY LIE about being able to cancel your membership after you are done with your contract. Also, month to month is a LIE. They said they would cancel it and they didn't. Heck, when we asked if we could cancel our membership they basically stated that they didn't know how. This is how BS this company is: if you jump through the hoops and try to cancel on even the 2nd of the month, you get billed for that month, AND the next month. So if you are even THINKING about getting out of your auto payments, whether you have a contract or not, leave at LEAST 70 days to do so. You'll need a week or two to jump through their cancellation system, and then up to two months for it to take effect, and they will bill you the whole time. Just remember this about ANY gym membership: ALWAYS PRE PAY your membership. NEVER let them have credit card info or bank info. Snap Fitness, at least the butler market one, is a DIRTY business. Aspire in Bend is better anyway, even though it took me about 60 days to cancel their membership as well. Also, good luck talking to any employees because they aren't there most of the time. Basically, they are a slimy company, the employees LIE all the time just to keep you going with your automatic payments... they tell us things contradictory to their website. JUST AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. You could buy a home gym for the money they suck out of your account. 12 months x 49$ = 588$ Do you really think you'll go there enough in a year to make that worth the money? read more

I've been coming to this gym for several years. It's always clean, never overly crowded, and the staff is great. If you're looking for personal training, Snap only hires quality, educated personal trainers. It's open 24/7 so there's no excuse for the gym being closed. They offer tanning when the office is open and a friendly hello when you show up. You won't feel judged or belittled since this place isn't a meat market, just a nice neighborhood gym where real people come to get there exercise and sweat it out. See you there! read more

I mistakenly sighned up for a 2 year membership when I didn't cancel in time after purchasing an introductory membership through do local deals (or similar site). I couldn't cancel, so even though I didn't use the membership, I payed $29.99 a month for 20 months. Then, finally, I thought I could cancel because I moved to Klamath Falls for work, and there isn't a Snap Fitness here. The closest one is Bend, over a hundred miles away. But even though I could prove a change of address, Snap Fitness wouldn't let me cancel their contract, insisting that I continue to pay even though there isn't even a remote possibility that I could use their services. The gyms are ok. Kind of limited but clean and friendly. I much preferred going to Juniper Swim and Fitness Center even though I was a member of Snap. I just think their billing practices and customer service is ridiculous! read more

This is the Snap gym closest to my house and so I end up here a lot. It is always clean, cool, and uncrowded. Even when the parking lot is full there are still plenty of machines/equipment open. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The only thing I wish was different would be the bathroom/changing area situation. There are only 2 singe person rooms for changing/showering and during high traffic hours it can take a while for one to open up. But the space doesn't have room for more so I understand that nothing can really be done. Overall a great place to workout! read more

Signed up online for a 30 day trial for 9.99. Upon checking in June 6th they ended up changing me 39.99. They apologized and gave me a refund. I cancelled my trial then. They have continued charging me 39.99 every month and upon confronting them they apologized and refunded me 2 of 3 39.99 charges and said I had to contact my bank about the 3rd because it says it was sent on their end. This gym was perfect for me. Had all of the basic equipment I needed in order to do a quick workout for the day. Mike was kind and also a great worker - when he wasn't greeting customers, he was cleaning the mirrors or the bathrooms (as someone with a business background, I can't help but to notice these things). Only downfall is that they jave 2 bathrooms with personal showers inside each. So when 2 people are taking long showers and getting ready, the people who have to quickly go to the bathroom or merely wash their hands have to wait. A serious design flaw...maybe they can do a little construction to fix it. read more

My wife and I used this gym for over a year. It's "ok". It has the basic equipment: treadmills, elliptical trainers, free weights, and some station type weight training equipment. Cleanliness plus/minus. A very good trainer, Lisa, available on a fee per episode basis. Our "poor" review reflects several factors: the organization "oversubscribes" members in January to accommodate the post-holiday rush. The effect is to make it very difficult for established members, many of whom are experienced and serious, to get access to the equipment. The parking lot will fill. You may find you are paying for a membership you cannot use. Suggest caution. On a related note this gym requires 30 day notice to terminate. They obviously don't need the notice...but it costs you money that goes in your pocket when you are ready to terminate. This is a very common practice in this industry. Buyer Beware! read more

I am a working mom and needed to find a convenient, inexpensive and clean gym to join. Snap has been great and fits my needs right now perfectly. It is never too busy and parking is never an issue. The machines are clean and the other users keep to themselves and are considerate. I do take random classes elsewhere (since they don't offer any there) but get my basic cardio and strength training done at Snap and love it. read more

I go to this gym at least three or four times a week and never have any issues. Getting a membership is quick and easy. Some times are much busier than others. There are a good amount of machines (although they could invest in another rowing machine and upgrade their two older treadmills). To begin with, this gym is DIRTY. The same half-used water bottle, likely growing all sorts of lovely bacteria remained on the window seal next to the eliptical for SIX (yes, folks) that's right, SIX months before I, myself threw it away. It was so inviting to come in for a morning work out and enter the building to step over all of the bags of trash and vacuum cords the lazy blonde leaves out while she plays on the internet in her office. The bathrooms are filthy and the machines are never cleaned by staff, as you would see from the layers of build up between the gears. You might get an STD using the bikes there :/ Customer service- Terrible. I entered the facility to a mound of garbage bags. I had to ask a member where I was suppose to sign up as it was covered in mounds of garbage bags. The blonde lady that was working there, Kim, looked me up and down when I approached her (yes, like a mean teenage girl would) and quickly rushed through my registration. She didn't even show me around the gym. So odd. She never greets guests and is always tucked in her office surrounded by a mountain of garbage bags so no one can enter her office to disturb her highness. What is with the garbage bags anyway? So unappealing. When I went to give my notice I wouldn't be continuing another year, I was treated so poorly. Kim, the rude blonde lady immediately flipped an attitude and literally threw the cancellation slip and a pen at me. I was blown away by this lack of professionalism. Save your money, this gym is HORRIBLE and not worth a penny. Also, be sure you give 30 days notice, as when you sign up for 12 months, it doesn't really mean you have a 12 month membership. There is plenty of room for storage for bags when you walk in the door and the bathrooms are always clean. I have recommended the gym to many of my friends and will continue to do so. read more

This is a very good gym and I would rate it excellent for its variety of equipment and the fact that nothing is broken down. I like the atmosphere as well. There are two reasons I don't give it a 5 star. 1. It is dirty. The carpets haven't been cleaned in years and there are piles of dust in the corners and on the floor. Papers and stuff left by members sit there for days until the staff cleans it up. 2. The girl who sits behind the desk never smiles, talks to anyone, or leaves the office except to go to the bathroom or let someone in the tanning room. She is as friendly as a rock. Please note, as well, the only trainer I have ever seen works out occasionally and leaves. There is no public relations at all. I saw a guy, once, but who know if he will ever return. Originally, I had this rated a 4, me and my 11 year old son went here for nearly a year with no issue, my son behaved and always paid attention and stuck by me at all times. He was given high fives and thumbs up from other gym goers and was a positive influence on the people of the gym. I was told by one of the PTs that we were given the OK to continue going there from corporate, and we were stoked, my son is passionate about fitness like I am, but then the other week the lady in the office told us he couldnt go anymore and that what we were told was false. So basically we were lied to, and I guess there was complaints about my son being there. Not sure who complained being that everyone liked him, but there is always someone that has to ruin it for everyone. Probably because he was putting in more work then they were. My son used his gift cards to buy his own weights so he can continue working out, as soon as my contract is up I will be looking elsewhere, snap fitness let us both down read more
