Jessica Jones has been my trainer since 2022, and I can honestly say she has transformed my life. I started with the goal of building muscle to support my long-term health--strengthening my core, reducing my risk of osteoporosis, and simply feeling stronger in my own body. In the three years we've worked together, she has not only helped me accomplish all of that, she has taken me far beyond what I ever thought I could do. Jessica has this incredible ability to push me exactly when I need it, even in the moments when I would've quit on myself. Her workouts are always thoughtful, always tailored to my needs, and always spot-on. She listens, adapts, and somehow knows just how to challenge me while keeping the sessions fun (unless I'm gasping for air--but even then, she gets me talking again!). I admire her expertise, her professionalism, and the genuine care she puts into every session. I respect her more than I can say. this gym is a great option if you are looking for ungainful employment along with your workout - they make it clear upon arrival that your $15/day drop in fee includes cleaning responsibilities for all the equipment, bathrooms, and lockers. don't worry! they keep all the tools you'll need for your janitorial services clearly accessible. brian says: might be a good option if you live in bend. sauna kinda sucks but there are classes and lots of equipment. if you're visiting, the drop in fee is still worth it. read more

I had been going to xcel crossfit for months, mostly kept to myself but was friendly to everyone there. I drove all the way from sunriver to join classes at least 3 times a week. When suddenly me and my mother got a phone call from the manager telling us "people had been complaining that we smell bad and we need to fix it or we will be asked to leave" we scheduled an appointment to talk to him in person and he was still just as awful to our faces. He made comments about how me (a 17 year old at the time) would wear sleeveless tops and he could "smell me from across the room" and was convinced we didn't wear deodorant. I've waited a long time to post this, but it still saddens me just as much today as it did years ago. Please spend your money on a different gym. read more

One of the best gyms I've ever had a membership at. The facility is always kept clean, the staff is always friendly and up for a quick conversation and the access to a sauna, CrossFit, childcare and massage therapist is a godsend. For everything that's offered in Bend Oregon, you will not find a deal better than excel with 24/7 access at a great price and still lots of weightlifting equipment unlike planet fitness. I hired Lexie Peterson as my personal trainer for $70 per hour. On our 2nd session she left in the middle of the workout to teach a random gym member how to deadlift. When she returned to our session I asked her if she could hold off on training others until after our session because I am paying good money for her time. she was offended by my request and told me that she's a free resource for everyone at the gym and wants to help everybody. They won't let me cancel my membership even though I moved. They said I can cancel if I moved more then 25 miles away from facility and provide proof of move with piece of mail. I provided several pieces of mail but they wouldn't accept it as proof. Said it had to be an utility bill. I don't have any utilities in my name but I doubt they would even cancel if I did, they would probably say it's not good enough. read more

I have been a member for over 5 years and I absolutely love my gym. I work out early in the mornings before work and it always starts my day out right! Having a 24 hour gym is the best! Being able to shower after a great work out is a huge plus for me. The variety of equipment is excellent and it is fun to mix up work outs with all the variety of possibilities at Xcel. If you are considering this gym please note, they have taken advantage of hundreds of people in the Bend community during Covid. The owners shut down their south location and secretly transferred all memberships to their north location. Then they continued to charge all south location members for a gym that does not exist, refused to provide any refunds, and threaten to send you to collections if you refuse to pay. It is truly horrendous to have such unethical business practices during the pandemic. read more

I was in Bend on vacation. The whole week was a $25 fee, which is a great deal for how nice the gym is. They have plenty of room to lift some serious weights and everything is nice and clean. The staff was so friendly, I almost wanted to move to Bend from San Francisco, just to join this gym. ;) The childcare daily drop in was only $7/day for my 3 kids! They did crafts and interacted with the kids, they had so much fun and it was safe environment. I finally tried the Crossfit the last day and the programming was incredible! The people in the class were extremely friendly and the coach was helpful and encouraging. read more

Went to workout here after being a client for two years. This place has really taken a hit in terms of core values and standards. I typically go around 8pm at night which is when staffing leaves, and it brings in another crowd. Rude , arrogant, and crude boys. I am a new mom and they made some awful sexual comments about me, and not to mention no one was wearing a mask. After being there for 20 minutes I wrapped up and grabbed my things, to find a rat in the girls bathroom. I will not be returning , after two years I would've expected better things. But I mean, in a pandemic you'd rather let boys have their freedom and not mask up, then keep your business ? read more

Maybe for cities of this size, people consider this a nice gym, but having lived in larger cities most of my life, I find that it is outdated and somewhat tacky, an example being the signs they have taped to the benches in the men's bathroom (which is also very outdated). This is the kind of place I wish I had money to buy and do a complete makeover. Otherwise, it's only the second gym I've visited here but it was recommended by a local supplement store owner and it will do fine for the two month membership I purchased. read more

And it's not enough because they say that I'm using the same license. Well obviously I am using the same license because I own the address and moved back to it. What do they want from me? Not impressed. The gym is packed. You need to park up the street to get in. We wanted to put a hold on our account one month to travel and see family. They said they'd only do it if we brought in plane tickets and lodging receipts to prove we left town. Called to cancel back in the spring. They kept charging us regardless and sent us to collections for over $300 in fees. You need to go ahead and call their special membership cancelling hotline which doesn't answer the phone. When we called to dispute they've deleted our info so you can't even dispute the charges. Completely let down by this experience. I would take my business elsewhere. read more

The owners of the gym don't care about the client they just care about the money My wife and I have heath problem that we are unable to work out and wanted to cancel our member ship. We haven't worked out there seance October. They continue to take 55 dollars a month out of our account. I've talked to them several times and the management said sounds like bad luck to me. By far best gym in Bend. Full of people who actually workout. Large open space with all the right equipment. Staff knew me by name after my first week there. Super friendly all around. I've worked and/or worked out at almost all of the larger gyms in Bend, and Xcel is by far the best. Both the East and Southside location are very clean and well taken care of. The gyms don't get too crowded so you can use the equipment you want. The trainers are knowledgable and the owners are always making sure things run smoothly. read more
