Now it has been transformed into a very spacious gym with brand-spanking new equipment and LOTS of it! I signed up mainly for the group fitness classes so I can have a variety even though I have another gym membership elsewhere. I'm excited! The facilities in the main workout area has the equipment. The fitness classes are in one room and the Cycle classes are in another. You have to sign up for a spot using the app since there are a limited amount of bikes. The outdoor pool has fitness classes and is the same as before--no improvements. Same with the Women's Locker room. It looks the same. Will see if the showers function well & maintains warm water without cooler bursts of water in the middle of taking a shower & with loud noises in the pipes when it was Gold's Gym.

The layout is horrible. This place is always packed so be prepared to wait for everything. At least 6 machines are broken and they've had out of service signs on them for too long. But if you know gym equipment you know why... they for whatever reason decided to be the only LA in town that uses the absolute worst cost cutting machines: Star Trac. If you want private restrooms guess what? Oh yeah the two in the back of the building are locked always with service signs on them as well. I can't make this up. The GMs days are definitely numbered because this type of unkept will lead to him getting let go. You hate to hear it but this is the honest truth. Don't bother with this location unless you don't want to workout or if you want to just ruin your mood for the day.

All the plates are iron, industrial fans cooling the place, huge mirrors everywhere, it's open 24 hours, machines you won't see anywhere else, and patrons are about their business and just EATING weights. I was probably the smallest person in here by 80 lbs, but they couldn't have been more welcoming. I paid a $20 day pass twice, and what I loved was they didn't try to sell me on joining the gym. I'm so sick of being upsold in literally every other area of my life. Something about handing that crispy $20 bill, signing a waiver I didn't read, and being able to have free reign of the gym was so refreshing. You go to a 24 Hour Fitness and get a day pass, it will take you 20 minutes of small talk and having to fake like you're considering joining before you can get to working out. 3 days later, my quads are STILL sore from one of those gnarly machines that I have never seen before, and will likely never see again. I completed my first bodybuilding prep here and it always had everything I needed. I think the most important thing is THIS PLACE IS NEVER PACKED. It's by no means a small gym but I rarely waited for equipment and it's typically pretty empty compared to most gyms. It's also SUPER CLEAN. The only downside I would say has happened in the last year or so where they've hired more younger people who often workout during their shift and don't pay much attention to customers. When cancelling my membership I waited at the counter until the boy on shift (who was actively working out with someone) realized I was there.

There had been no prior conversations with me about concerns, expectations, or issues that would have suggested my membership was at risk. Wanting to better understand the decision, I made multiple attempts to contact management, including phone calls and a direct message. None received a response. The issue was never the decision itself. The issue was the lack of transparency and communication surrounding that decision. After more than two years as a customer, I expected the courtesy of a conversation rather than a vague explanation and a one-sided notification. Customers should feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns, and providing feedback about the services they pay for. Constructive feedback is how businesses improve. When concerns are met with silence rather than dialogue, it creates the impression that feedback is unwelcome rather than valued. No business is perfect. Equipment breaks. Air conditioners fail. Problems happen. What separates a good business from a poor one is how management communicates with customers and addresses concerns. In my experience, this gym fell short in both areas. In the end, PowerMaster Fitness felt less like a customer-focused gym and more like a private clubhouse that happens to sell memberships. If you're looking for a gym where communication, transparency, and customer feedback are valued, you may want to carefully consider your options before committing to a membership here.

I would appreciate a few more staff members in the morning (5am - 8am). There is usually only 1 employee. While I appreciate them cleaning the gym during their shift, it leaves the front desk empty. Having to wait 5-10 min after a workout to get into a tanning session in is not ideal. It would be nice to have a self-check-in to the tanning via PF app.

Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the owner of the studio as well as the other employees. They offered help in getting me checked in/ setup on my bike but I luckily was OK on these things. Additionally, this location had adorable merch so I had to do some shopping. The instructor all offer a different style of class so there is something for everyone which is nice. I also love that they have a wide variety of class times so I can do early mornings when I'm in town during the work week. The studio itself is well maintained and goes above and beyond with the offer of snacks, mints, hair ties, etc. I love how friendly the other riders are here too as you feel part of the group immediately. I already bought more rides for the next time I'm in town! Definitely worth checking out!

The last three times we showed up for our classes we were told they were canceled and we understood. We were actually worried about the instructors however, at the last time we were told the spinning classes are completely canceled through LA Fitness. No explanation was given. We were a small group that showed up literally regularly three times a week and on Saturdays and we were also super disappointed. We were told to call the corporate office and see if there's a chance for them to reinstate the classes. No one to include myself received a call back. I was told that they are aware that many people are very upset about this. Therefore, I have canceled my membership with LA Fitness and will be going to their competitor, which is Gold's gym. I find this experience very sad because this is one of the main reasons I signed up for this gym. The lack of communication or follow up showed the lack of care they have for their loyal customers.

We each also paid a fortune for the mandatory yoga pads. It's not for everyone. Then my wife went back to school, so we had less time to go. They told me they would charge a $99 fee if I canceled within 6 months. Since I was paying about $100 per month, I figured I would just pay the fee, but then I was informed that I had to pay $100 fee for each of us. What a ripoff. My advice to you is to not sign up. It's simply not worth it.
