I am relocating from New England, I found Crossfit VU through the mainsite and went to their web page. When I showed up I was very surprised and excited because I have never seen so many people at a 0500 class!!!!! The 0600 class that I attended was very well Coached and I had a blast. Pros: CLEAN, great Coaching, easy to find, wide variety of equipment, not over priced, I saw a dog!!!!!!! Cons: I got sweat in my eyes because I forgot my hat.... I dunno that's about it. So, let me explain why CFVU gets a 5 star rating from me, because ya'll know I don't just give them out... This was my first experience with CrossFit as well as my first official box. I LOVED IT. The owners, Fallon and Lex are the nicest and most awesome business owners {AND coaches} that I think any athlete could ever ask for. The gym is kept very clean (I have visited many boxes, and know that cleanliness can definitely be an issue), but not here. Also, the coaches go above and beyond to make sure that you feel at home - there's never really that awkward moment when people don't know who others are, so its intimidating. CFVU makes sure to make everyone feel welcome, no matter their level of fitness or familiarity with CrossFit. They also make sure that they check up on you if they haven't seen you in a while - they personally take time out of their day(s) to follow up with you and make sure everything is okay. You can't beat that. They also offer a sweet Yelp deal for checking in, and they offer military and first responder discounted monthly rates as well! The only CON I have about this box is the open gym times - since they are very closely knit with the owners and coaches, they cannot run open gym as often as I'm sure they would like (as well as you as a potential athlete here, would like). However, that is something I came to live with here, and I'm sure if they decide to add more staff and coaches later on, that the open gym times may increase. I have been coming to the Box (Gym) for two months now. We all know that Crossfit is not easy. The coaches here really care and push you to greatness. Fellow cross-fitters in this Box are like a big family, when they finish a WOD, they cheer you on. If you are someone like me, you need that extra push. This box offers military, student, and other discounts. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give them a shot. I am so happy that I did. They offer challenging workouts with very knowledgeable and experienced coaches. Everyone is supportive and welcoming and will make you feel right at home. The box is clean and well organized. If you are looking for a family atmosphere, that is what sets CrossFit VU from many other boxes. It's great for all ability levels. I came from out of town and dropped in, and I felt like I was a regular. Reece, Lex and all athletes are super friendly. Coaches are very knowledgeable and they have a well balanced coach-athlete ratio. I highly recommend this box if you are from out of town and need to get in your daily WOD. Dropped in for a class during memorial day weekend. Extremely friendly coaching and staff. Lex even called me to confirm my drop in. The classes have 2 coaches minimum and they have great advice on scaling down movements and movement cues for each individual athlete. Jared and Lo made sure to go around and check everyones movements and make adjustments as necessary before the WOD. I dropped in on friday and again on saturday for MURPH. I ended up ripping my hands a little and a member graciously shared some ripfix balm! Very affordable $25 for a drop in + T shirt or $15 for a drop in only. 5/5 stars! read more

Dropped in at this box for a two month stint in Pensacola. Coaches were extremely great! They start you off with a warm up and go over basic movements and if you're a beginner they will definitely pay attention and make sure you do not injure yourself. The price is reasonable compared to others. You start out with your free trials and the. You can sign up if you want. DEFINITELY felt zero pressure into doing so. I did a week of drop ins at CF VU and loved it. Coaches were attentive and helpful. They worked with each person if they needed any modifications, encouraged the team throughout the workouts and kept an eye on everyone's form to assure a safe workout. Great gym! I was in Pensacola for a year looking for a crossfit gym before I found VU. I felt welcomed right when I walked in the door. They have a clean facility that has all the equipment you need. The members are really nice and are always having pool parties/beach days, get togethers etc. The coaching staff is really knowledgable. I trained at CrossFit VU for a week while visiting from out of town. The box is fantastic. I love the open air and the set-up. The coaches help athletes with technique and strategy to handle the WOD. The equipment is terrific as well. I enjoyed the clients. They are approachable and fun. Dogs are welcome and everyone in general is interested in having a good time while getting an intense workout. Lex is by far the most knowledgable coach I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I was still fairly new to Crossfit when he landed the position as the new head coach at my former box in Columbus, Ga. I couldn't have asked for a better coach from which to learn proper form and technique. We are a military family, so our time sadly came to say goodbye. The skills I learned from Lex helped me to survive (as in avoid injury) mediocre coaches and to continue successfully with my Crossfit journey. I've finally found a few good coaches, but they still don't compare to Lex. In fact, even with hundreds of miles between us, I contacted him not once, but twice for online personal training after two major medical procedures. I couldn't think of anyone that I trusted more. Years later, he still remembered my strengths and weaknesses and was able to tailor a program unique to those needs. He has a passion for Crossfit, nutrition and fitness in general that is unparalleled. I haven't had the pleasure of working with Fallon, however, knowing the standard that Lex adheres to, I can't imagine that her coaching is anything but stellar.
