Personally I have been a member at several different gyms, from the major facilities like Golds, and the YMCA to smaller, local gyms.

I was working on a machine(I am a 72-year-old retired man) and the manager came up behind me while I'm doing my workout and put his nose to my neck... He claimed he was trying to determine who smelled like "marijuana"!.... I have worked out in Jim's my entire life, and when One is working out doing sets, it is extraordinarily rude to go up to them from behind and insert themselves into your workout! Unacceptable behavior and I will not be back! Too bad too because given a little care, it could be a nice gym, but knowing that the Manager owner is there every day and ceases condition and does nothing lets me know that that will probably never happen!

The equipment is well-maintained, the space is always clean, and the owner and staff truly care about every member's fitness journey. What really sets this gym apart is the sense of community--everyone is friendly and respectful. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable and motivated. There are members of all ages here. Whether you're just starting out or have been training for years, this gym is a hidden GEM! It's never overly crowded and no one is hanging out the machines, scrolling their phones. I feel like it's a private, exclusive club! Easy parking in a private lot. Personal Training and Physical Therapy are available here as well.

Let me start by saying this may be a great place if you are healthy enough to do all the exercises…read morein the program. I would not suggest this place if you are disabled or if you have previous issues or injuries. Where do I start? When I first came to Ira, I explained that I was a complete couch potato and that I was also a disabled veteran with some previous injuries. I told him I wanted a training program that would allow me to progress into increased and intense activity over time (I did not want to go right into kill mode). I also wanted something custom made because of my injuries. The second day that I went to work out at his gym, I ended up injured (doing too much too fast). I sprained a quadricep muscle. Of course I, made him aware of the injury before I left the gym. He had me roll some kind of a pole up and down on my thigh I guess to alleviate the issue. However, as the day wore on the pain grew worse. When I tried to contact him, I could not get him to return any of my messages. I ended having my mom call him to explain I was still having an issue. It was suggested to ice the thigh and come back in a couple of days to work out again. Obviously, I did not go back because I was still in pain. I would send him texts on my progress with his only response being, "Ok, great..." I never heard from him again. There were no inquires made as to whether I was ok or whether or not I would come back or any offer of further assistance. My experience working out at his gym was like being thrown in a massive herd of animals. There was about 25 or more of us. Do this exercise and eat this way. There were people in the group of all fitness levels working out. There was no making sure your form was correct to prevent injury. Also, he (or someone else) would show you a modification of the exercise, but as the training session progressed on he would lose focus of continuing to show modifications to those of us that could not do the regular exercises because we had limitations. I would have to flag him down to show me the modifications. You either got the exercises or you did not. It was a sink or swim kind of experience for me. I felt like I was nothing but a dollar. The only time you received his attention is when you were buying. When I first walked in to meet him it was the same way. He always had something else going on. It was, "I will be with you in a minute." My overall experience was I could not get his attention when I needed it, and when I did his attention and responses were short and pert. I even had the impression that I was a nuisance. I'm not the kind that requires constant attention, but if I am in your face asking a question or making a request its a reasonable one. I understand he is the owner and that he has a lot of people, but still.

I've taken both personal training and group classes. By far the best training I've ever received…read more Ira and Venny really take time to get to know you, your strengths, weaknesses and help you become the best version of yourself. Venny is a true master in the nutrition field.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the incredible staff. Over the course of six months, I had the opportunity to work with the entire team, especially Rachel, Adam, and Mr. Louie. Their knowledge, encouragement, and personalized approach helped me create a successful recovery plan for both my foot and hip. Beyond the excellent care, they foster an environment that feels like a genuine community. I always felt welcomed, supported, and motivated throughout my treatment. While I'm sad to have graduated from physical therapy, I'm grateful for the experience and will definitely be stopping by to say hello from time to time!

Our insurance company recommended LEGENDARY. I'm only giving "Legendary" 3?stars because of Emily & the front desk receptionists. I if it weren't for them, I'd only give 1 star. The receptionists at the front desk were welcoming, professional, & friendly. Emily, one of the Physical Therapist's was fantastic. Unfortunately, I was only able to work with her twice but she was attentive, empathetic, & made an attempt to get to know me as a whole. Something I can truly appreciate 100%. She NEVER left my side the entire time. My other 3 visits were with Doctor Louie. Upon my first and initial visit with him had me not wanting to go back as I had repeated myself with a response only for him to tell me, "I heard you the first time". My second visit, he walked away while I was in the middle of some exercises to talk to other clients, turn on a TV for them, get water, go to a break room to get a sandwich which he proceeded to eat in front of me. My finial visit, he introduced a new exercise and then walked away for at least 5 minutes if not more. My husband was waiting for me so I walked over to him and said, "let's go". I told him what happened and that I wanted to leave. We went to the front desk and explained what had happened. They said, "that it wasn't like him to just leave". They further asked if he said anything to me and no, he did not, he just left. No one knew where he went but insisted it must have been an urgent matter. I can understand that but still, he should have said something. Although, Dr. Louie apologized, he asked, "none of my coworkers had your back?" My response was, "no, you just left, no one knew where you went". I finished out my appointment with him but absolutely refused to go back and couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. From the very beginning, I didn't feel any professionalism with Dr. Louie.

This "Covid" excuse occurred today, (July 6th 2022) for calls/texts not returned and lessons that were canceled within the last couple of months. The owner also humiliated me and told me to leave when I told him his "Covid" excuse" was dubious. I'm much older than the average age. "athlete" there. He said he'd give me my money back. I can only pray. With his way of thinking this is doubtful. They most likely will keep much more money than they should. Stay away unless your willing to go along with every arrogant extra charge and lack of follow through they dish out. If you attempt to hold them responsible for what they promise and what you pay for, they will be difficult. Especially if you are an older out of shape women like me. XFit is supposed to be nice and good and sweet and accepting. This place just wants your money, or in my case just wants my money and doesn't want to follow through with what I pay for. Or will actually kick me out when I try to hold them accountable. They want your money and don't want to give you what you pay for and then they want to blame you for trying to get what you pay for. And still still, it's all because of .... COVID.

The Weznel Gym has two-stories of muscle building fun and even a special room for those shy women who want to work out away from gawking eyes. - ID required - Two-stories - Locker rooms - Ongoing events - Friendly staff - New equipment This great facility isn't your modern 24 hour fitness, but it's not far behind. If it's leisure your looking for you can find plenty of pick-up games at the indoor regulation size basketball court or sign-up ahead to reserve one of three three racquetball courts I personally get great use out of the cardio room upstairs. They have Stairmasters, rowers, climbers, plenty of treadmills, cycles and a padded area for stretching or using medicine balls. There are so many machines it's a rare occasion when there isn't something to use, although it can get packed during certain times (i.e. 1pm, 3pm). There are also three flat screen TV's in the room that run ESPN as well as magazines to read. Downstairs you'll find a great free-weight room, a state-of-the-art circuit room using computerized resistance machines, and a BodyMaster fitness center. These rooms are the most crowded because people tend to do multiple routines that last over an hour. The Weznel gym is a great facility with much to offer and they are constantly updating their machines as well as improving their layouts. The staff are very friendly and the machines are always clean. You really can't ask for much more for a daily use gym.
