I was recommended by my normal vet to get emergency surgery for my dog. We saw Crossroads was 24/7 emergency so I went there right away. I buzzed in and told them that he needs surgery immediately. We waited a little over 5 hours to finally be seen. They kept him overnight and gave him a dye to hopefully clear the blockage, it didn't work. They sent him back home without doing any follow up x rays or testing like they discussed. Whatever they gave him, the dye, fluids, or meds, it made him way worse. I finally had to take him to Purdue Small Animal Hospital in Lafayette so someone can actually look at him and assess him correctly. I was charged an extremely overpriced amount for 5 minutes of a vet talking to us. Mind you, no prices were ever discussed with us in the beginning. I figured it was going to be a little pricier because I came in during emergency hours. I called to discuss the bill and the lady I talked to had the biggest attitude with me when I asked her to explain the charges. She was very rude and said I just had to pay it. Never have I ever had to deal with such rude and careless people. How am I supposed to think you'll take good care of my dog when you treat people like that? Definitely don't recommend at all. My dog started having trouble with just pacing around and refusing to go outside to potty. His problems got worse and worse. I saw Crossroads Animal Hospital information online. I made an appointment with them and had my dog end his misery. I was very sad about losing him, but the procedure with the nurses was as peaceful as it could be. He was 16 years old when he passed, but I was glad that I had taken him to Crossroads. They made a clay impression of his paw, his name, and a heart for me to remember him. A few weeks later, the doctor sent me a card of sympathy regarding Toby, my dog. I was very impressed with the care they gave him when he was their patient. read more

First time coming to this facility and my entire experience was great. From the desk clerk filling out our 5 kittens' first-time application, to the receiving male assistant being knowledgable and helpful on what we needed prior to seeing the vet, to seeing our vet, is really was professionally done and with a cordial and cheerful attitude. Brought in our kittens for their first vaccinations, nail clippings, heartworm/flea/tick meds and more. Dr. Zachary Ginkel, DVM was their vet we met with, and he was super pleasant, cordial and professional. He really put his heart into taking care of the kittens and giving me everything I needed for them. Thank you, Dr. Ginkel, for being so great, it is reassuring to know a vet/Doctor is caring about animals and not just doing his job. he Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Veterinary Clinic I'm honestly beyond pissed about the way I was treated and the way my 9 week old puppy was handled at this clinic. First off, I was told the wait would be about an hour. This is a walk-in clinic no appointments yet I watched several people who walked in AFTER me get seen before I did. When I questioned the wait, the woman at the front desk caught an attitude instead of simply explaining what was going on. That alone was unprofessional. But what happened next is what really has me upset. A dog that had PARVO came into the clinic shortly before me and my puppy. My 9-week old puppy was then placed in the SAME ROOM where that dog had been. Let that sink in. A young puppy who was there to get vaccinated was put in an environment where a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus had just been present. Two days later, my puppy started showing the symptoms of parvo. I brought him right back to the same clinic to get tested and sure enough, he tested positive. And then, on top of everything else, I was charged AGAIN for tests that had already been performed on my puppy just two days earlier. At this point, I'm not just disappointed. I'm extremely angry. I brought my puppy there because I trusted this clinic to protect his health, not put him in a situation where he could potentially be exposed to a deadly virus. I understand that parvo is extremely contagious, and I understand that puppies can sometimes be exposed before showing symptoms. But the timing and circumstances surrounding my puppy's visit raise serious concerns that I expect this clinic to answer. This entire experience from the excessive wait, the attitude at the front desk, the handling of my puppy, the possible exposure, and then being charged again has been absolutely unacceptable. I will be documenting everything, including the dates, medical records, receipts, and test results, and I will be pursuing this matter further, including legal action if necessary. I trusted this place with my puppy. That trust was seriously broken. read more

After a temperature check and examination of my dog the meds they sent me home with did bring my dog back to good health. They drew blood and charged $150.00 for the test. That happened on a Thursday. They say they phoned on the following Saturday with results. On Saturday I had to have my phone replaced. I called Crossroads and was told that they tried to call but could not reach me. My phone showed no history of a call from them. I phoned Crossroads twice in an effort to receive bloodwork results for my dog. They killed me with kindness when I was there with my pet but the receptionist was rude on the phone. I was never told by phone, voice message, email or text the results of the $150.00 blood test. I am not understanding why any of those ways to communicate bloodwork results were not used. I have yet to hear from them. I appreciate a 24/7 no appointment pet hospital but I won't be returning to Crossroads unless there are no other options, which there are. read more

I frantically visited this clinic today. My dog had 4 paw injuries. The front desk employee was awful, and not helpful whatsoever. She's said do you think it's an emergency I said yes that's why I'm here she said I can have a technician come out it's going to cost you 40 bucks. The technician came out looked at the paws for about 10 seconds gave me a dirty look told me ew that's bad I asked her how did they treat this she shrug her shoulders put her hands in the air and told me she did not know. I was carrying my dog who's 50 lb I weigh 90 lb nobody that want to help me the people that were in the office waiting to be treated help me rather than the staff. This was the worst experience with a veterinarian I've ever had in my entire life. I am still crying over the experience. This places sucks! DO NOT take your pet here. The entire staff was extremely put out and rude from the second I walked in with my very sick puppy. I brought my puppy in for respiratory issues and expressed my concern for aspirate pneumonia. After I insisted on radiographs I was told they were completely normal. They sent me home as my dog worsened thru the night with a 104 fever. I ended up rushing her to MedVet Chicago in the morning where she was diagnosed with BOTH Megaesophagus and Aspirate Pneumonia (no wayyyyy! ) So not only were they extremely rude, they misdiagnosed and missed not 1 but 2 very serious conditions. I understand a small mistake but this is HUGE. She spent 3 days in the ICU. Crossroads is LUCKY my dog is okay now (no thanks to them) or I would be making a much bigger deal about this. Last experience with crossroads was horrid. I was all e in to have my pet created. The receptionist made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. She rushed to take my payment she didn't ask about other services I had previously purchased. She rudely asked if I was paying cash or card and when I responded card she extended her hand to ask for th card. I had to inquire the total. Who trained her? When taken into a room the horrible service continues. I was taken back by not one but two ladies. I spoke to them 2 minutes in total and they never stated when ashes would be available for pickup. I understand you may be busy but five minutes to answer questions and a little empathy goes a long way. Rest assured I won't tak my business here and I will tell everyone I know no to use this facility. Please retrain all your employees and shadow them. Dr Middleton did amazing with my exotic pet! He did the exam on my pets terms, didn't cause him a second of stress and answered all my questions. My pets neuter went without a problem they kept me updated throughout the day and kept my nerves at ease. I definitely recommend Dr Middleton for your exotic pet, he's the best we've seen. They killed my champion Great Dane. I brought her in there at 12:40 AM and called them at midnight expressing that she rolled her stomach and I was there within 40 minutes. Then the nightmare started they refused to wait on my dog. It wasn't until three hours later that they put her up on the operating table and by that time all her organs shut down and she was clinically dead and then they tried to charge me $7800 for Services not rendered. They are falsified records from two different places. This place is owned by Hobart Animal Clinic, which are notorious for killing animals just like crossroads. read more

Very disappointing experience during an emergency of a small 8 weeks old kitten with special needs. I set up all 5 meds for the noon med time, and also have a dog who gets an anti inflammatory as well. I made a huge mistake of administering the dog med to a small kitten. Called everyone I had to call and only went to Crossroads because it was the closest emergency vet. I'm a foster and the humane society was able to call and I was seen immediately. I was told by the assistant they were going to give something to help her throw up. That was a relieve until the assistant came back in and told me to call animal poison control. While I was on the phone with them, the owner/vet Dr Tyler Middleton came in. This is where it became weird... He was very cheerful and asked me how I was. I said not good and asked me why? WHY? Why am I not good? How about an update on the kitten. How about sense the tone of me being stressed out that I may have just killed my foster. He explained they usually don't see animals from the human society, which isn't true. I explained they were the closest which is why I was asked to go there. I'm still on the phone with animal control but hang up because I'm upset and confused at this time. I tell him then I guess I should just go to the other place that was further and Dr Middleton said that was a good idea. It's been 1 hour now since this little kitten was given the wrong meds. Really unsure of their process but in the end they made me feel unwelcome. It was very weird. I spoke to the humane society and they couldn't believe it. I imagine they have few emergencies like the wrong meds being given, so maybe this protocol was unknown. But this isn't the type of place I would want to go to put down a beloved pet. What makes it even more weird is when the assistant came back with my kitten, she didn't give me her carrier. She just tried to hand me the kitten and that just blew my mind. I asked for the carrier and she's kinda felt embarrassed. It's a very nice establishment. Walk in only, was about a 2.5 hour wait for a Saturday. It was great we were seen asap, but they delayed treatment and wasted time. I cannot believe that the smug young vet is part owner by the way he treated the humans. I've had cats and dogs my entire life, and it can be tough when they get sick or when they get older. I love to foster kittens and it will break my heart forever knowing I could have really hurt this little girl. I can only count on the support from trained professionals to assist with treatment on the journey. This wasn't the place and I don't know why. Do not recommend at all. read more

I would absolutely recommend this vet office. The facility is very clean. They have lots of services and lots of staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They were transparent with their pricing and I thought they had very fair pricing. I want to give a special mention to the veterinary technician TJ because my cat usually does not do very well at veterinarian offices but he handled her very well and she responded to him very well. We went for two visits in each time he was able to give her her medicine very easily and she was very calm with him. read more

I won't be going back. Would give zero stars if I could. Checked in at 930 for a vet check for my new kitten. 2 hr wait, which is understandable as, it's a walk-in clinic. At 2 hrs, I asked how many ahead of us, and there were still 7. At 2 hrs and 45 mins, there were still 2 ahead of us. One of the docs had gone to lunch (I watched her DoorDash get delivered), so it'll be a little while. At a 930 check-in, never did I think I'd have to worry about the docs LUNCH BREAK. The front desk woman, who is extremely uncompassionate and rude, said, "Well, this is a walk-in clinic, can't control what comes in". I said, "I get that, but you also need to be considerate of other people's time". No service recovery, no "It's crazy here today, I apologize for the wait", "thanks for your patience" nothing. After I complained, they put up a sign that says, "We're experiencing extended wait times. Your pet might be seen during emergency hours". WHAT?! Bringing your pet in at 1pm you might have to pay emergency visit fees?! Then I'm called into the room at almost hour 4. I told the tech I was there for a vet check for my new kitten, and that I would like all of the records for my 3 other pets, because after today's experience, we won't be back. Still no service recovery. Clearly, Crossroads has enough patients they don't care about losing 4. I'm embarrassed for having recommended this place to all of my friends and family. If I hadn't already invested most of my day, I would've walked out, as others did. When they walked out, no service recovery. Just laughing and joking at the desk. I'm sure they were relieved they left. We'll be going back to Coyne. Even though it's slightly more expensive, at least they care. If you want to run a walk-in style clinic, you need to have the staffing capacity to not make people wait hours upon hours for service. You get what you pay for. read more

Leaving this one star is pushing it. The "Clinical Owner" , Diana , is pompous and arrogant. (she claimed her title) She is very horrible with communication. She does not listen to your wants or needs for your pet . HUGE warning to anyone taking their pet here. I wish I got the name of the lady who checked us in and ran to tell Diana what I said . Very unprofessional first of all. We were told we couldn't come back with our puppy just because I voiced an opinion about her . Which still stands , DIANNA IS A BITCH. We just moved into the area and looked for a vet. This was close by, so we thought we would try it. This place is fine, but more like a deli. Take a ticket and the first available vet answers your call. We were not used to that. To us, it seemed like we were a bit of a bother, and our golden puppy did not appear to enjoy her check-up for her ears. The vet himself was genuinely nice to deal with, however, the front staff was not very welcoming. The cost for the appointment was outrageously high! I guess, looking at other reviews maybe if you are in a hurry and needed convivence and do not mind if your pet is just a number, this would be a fine place. We had never been to Crossroads animal hospital before today. Our 8 year old lab, Crawford, who we rescued (along with his eight brothers and sisters) when he was only five weeks old, had stopped eating and was very lethargic. We brought him to our usual vet five days ago and he was given an initial diagnosis of liver problems, and most likely, liver cancer. Despite the sad prognosis, we thought we had a couple months to say goodbye. But last night Crawford took a turn for the worse and we tried to get him seen. We were unsuccessful. We called every vet in the south suburbs but no one could squeeze us in, even though it was a legit emergency. After calling around and having no luck, we rushed him to Crossroads in Crown Point Indiana. The place was HUGE, and very pretty. They don't take appointments and the place was pretty crowded but they squeezed us in as quickly as they could. Dr. Dianna Anagnos was assigned to Crawford and after reviewing the test results from our vet she provided us with an honest but compassionate assessment of our poor sweet boy's chances. After quite a bit of heartbreaking consideration and seemingly countless questions for Dr. Dianna, we made the decision every pet owner dreads. The staff was so compassionate and there just is no way to say how awesome and sweet Dr. Dianna was. On one of the worst days of our lives, Dr. Dianna cared for our pet and us like we were part of her own family. We have had the horrible experience of ushering several of our pet cats and dogs over the Rainbow Bridge but we have never had anyone take so much time and show us so much compassion like Dr. Dianna did. Despite our overwhelming grief, we were blown away by how thorough, professional and COMPASSIONATE she was and immediately decided we want Dr. Dianna to be our doctor for our two other dogs (Beethoven and Rocky) We have had numerous cats and dogs over our 33 years together and NO ONE has ever come close to treating us like Dr. D. Crossroads is a beautiful, clean facility and anyone who wants the VERY BEST care for the fur babies should definitely see Dr. Dianna. We just met her and we already love her. read more

Today, I brought my two dogs in to Crossroads, love that you do not have to make an appointment even though it was a weekend. I met with the front receptionists who were very knowledgeable and professionally friendly! I was brought into the exam room with a Veterinarian Assistant who was very informative. Dr. Dianna came in and did the exam on my two unruly dogs and after a period of time with them she had them both calm and did a very through exam. She was a sweet heart with my two and very patient with them, kind, considerate and very professional! She is a very great lady who loves animals! I highly recommend seeing her! read more

My dog had to be put down here after emergency care, it was a sad situation, made worse by the employees on duty laughing and joking around as my husband said goodbye to our sweet dog of almost 10 years. I was out of state at the time, but it was a terrible experience, made worse by the employees complete lack of respect for what was happening around them. Do I expect them to bow their heads in a moment of silence...no, could you contain your jokes and laughter for 20 minutes...yes. 100% do not recommend, they showed nothing but a complete lack of respect. read more

Long wait times, zero lack of compassion for emergencies. My dog was seizing in the car right before I got here, the front staff looked at me dumbfounded and said "ok have a seat". Waited 40 min before anyone called us back and then another 25 min for a doctor. The doctor took 30 seconds with us and then left, never came back. The vet tech was condescending and didn't explain anything about the hospitalization other than cost. Come time to pick up, it's the same process as if you're checking in. You have to wait for a room to open even though they told you to come at a specific time and your animal has been caged for over 24 hours. They also already took the hospitalization fee, and won't release your animal until "a room opens" . I will not be coming back here. read more

Wonderful place! The staff on the phone was very nice and was genuinely concerned for my pet, asking me what was wrong, discussing prices and letting me know what would be better cost wise. That was very nice. I was having a helluva time with my senior cat who was having failing Kidneys--of course over the weekend--I decided to try to get some bloodwork done but no one, even places who called themselves emergency vet clinics, would take me. They're all booked or arent' taking new clients. I live in Chicago, so it was a trek to get here, but it is a good alternative to some of the terrible 24 hour options we have in the city. I soooo wish this place was in Chicago. I was so tired of being directed to MedVet or Premier, both of which I have heard horrible things about and are just money hungry. I got blood work done with an option to pay $295 for them to send it out and get better results, or pay $600 for in house and not get all I needed done in lieu of getting faster results. I cant' speak for the costs of other services, but the place is clean, staff is nice, they dont' try to money grub and I was there about less than 2 hours. It's so hard to find good, affordable vet care, especially in something like a 24 hour facility. It's shameful how greedy these places can be. read more

BEWARE: Took our puppy in because he was not pooping like normal and was nauseous. We took a stool sample. Vet recommended X-rays, X-rays revealed a "blockage". Surgery was recommended 2-4 grand unless it became an emergency, price would double. Stool sample was never tested. We couldn't afford the surgery, was sent home with "anti nausea and antibiotics". Took the pupon to a different vet for a second opinion. No blockage! Puppy had worms, just needed medicine. **The medicine that Cross Road sent home with us, the other vet informed us that it was a dewormer and anti nausea meds. We were totally lied to at Cross Roads. If we had said "yes" to surgery, would they have put the puppy through an unnecessary surgery or would they had scammed us into it looking like the dog had surgery. read more

I would rather my vets were all on the same page when it comes to policy within their hospital. On top of that, the rudeness with some vets is incomprehensible. When I came and believe me I was not happy. This weekend is my birthday weekend, and my poor Doggo decided to take a nose dive off the couch and broke her elbow. But after an exhausting day and a good nights rest, I did some checking around, and found that my veterinarian is not only the best in the area... but the cheapest. Had I went somewhere else I would be spending a few thousand more on her treatment and surgery. They are not only courteous they are also very thorough. However, Dr. Withey wasn't in today and we received Dr. Dianna. She was so very rude. She would not understand where I was coming from considering I've been going through a lot with my dog and my situation. Took my dog during the after hours times. I was extremely over charged. I was charged for anal gland expression and anal gland flush. The doctor didn't complete the job properly. Two weeks later took my dog to her normal vet and her right gland still has fluid in there. They refuse to give me back any money. As well as being charged over a $100 dollars for an exam where the doctor does not really exam her completely giving me no details about anything. A Very prejudice business. read more
