This was one of the worst veterinary experiences I have had. I've taken my dog Winnie to plenty of vets over the years trying to find the right fit. I never write reviews but I feel pretty strongly that this place should be avoided, there are so many better options out there. When we moved close by I decided to try this out. First off, they take your dog into the back to do everything which typically I don't prefer but I know this is common. Before the tech brought her in, the doctor came into the room complaining about how Winnie doesn't like her nails cut. I was surprised because they told me they were taking her for vitals and never mentioned nails. I would have easily told them not to bother that we do it at home. I have never experienced a place that doesn't ask permission to cut the dog's nails first or at least ask the parents if she's ok with that considering most dogs aren't. When I told the doctor for them not to cut her nails he made a snarky comment. Since then Dr. Lerner gave off the impression that we were incompetent and he spoke down to us the entire time. He did not speak in full coherent sentences and It felt as if he was all over the place. It did not inspire confidence one bit. He made snarky remarks the entire time and overall gave an impression of an older vet who thinks he knows best and shouldn't be questioned. They never told us they cut her nails at all and I was under the impression that they had tried but couldn't because Winnie was too squirmy. When we got home we took her outside to play and go in the pool and now her two back nails are bleeding badly. I was so furious because this easily could have been avoided if they just asked us before. Not only did they cut her nails without permission they cut them too short and now she's crying when she walks. I have a feeling they cut them short and put quick stop and didn't want to tell us. When we got home and she ran around they probably opened back up and that's when we noticed. I strongly suggest that if you want a veterinarian who would treat your dog as their own and who would make you feel that they are cared for and open to answering questions do not come here.

I can't say enough about this office and Dr. Méndez. We came to them about six months ago after our schnauzer's vet passed away unexpectedly. Our little one came with diabetes, lymphoma and losing her sight. She wasn't looking great. In a very short time and an adjustment to her regimen, she's looking better than she has been in years. Despite there not being a cure, I can tell you her quality of life is much better for having come to Crossroads.

    X-ray of blockage

If you want a great veterinarian that truly cares for your pet this is the place. Dr Gordon was phenomenal in her care of my dog Lola. My dog had an obstruction due to having eaten over 25 hair ties over an unknown amount of time. She had been vomiting and not eating. The X-ray showed the obstruction and emergency surgery was needed. Dr Gordon performed the surgery Friday evening and thankfully the surgery was a success. During Lola's 4 day stay at crossroads Dr Gordon kept me updated via daily text sometimes even multiple times a day. After 4 days in the office's care Lola was very comfortable around the staff and even walked around looking to be pet while I was receiving discharge instructions. You can tell my dog had been well cared for during her stay. Can't say enough about Crossroads except thank u for saving our Lola.

I adopted Xavier from there and used to take Oliver as well they were kittens. When I started going there and kept going was because Dr Khuly was awesome plus there were other older vets that were great as well plus Connie was bookkeeping (I think) at the time. Everything changes and I continued to go there for nail trims and any emergency that may pop up if it happened on a day the office was open. I called yesterday on July 21 to make an appointment for nail trims and was informed that since the boys hadn't had a full physical exam in years that the next time I would schedule an appointment for nail trimming that I would have to give them each a physical. Now mind you I expressed to the young lady on the phone which btw it's not her fault at all and I understand this, but I was very upset at feeling forced to have to give my days physicals. I explained to her that about couple of months ago I happened to have sprints about 1,500 at town and country hospital due to emergency with both Oliver needed teeth cleaning cause he had stopped eating and then a week Xavier had been throwing up along with diarrhea and was sick for over a week. This happened over the weekend when your office was not open. These are indoor cats always have been.. I am 61 years old currently unemployed and having financial difficulties I try to give my cats the best care they I can. I really liked the way your vet techs clipped their nails it's a shame that everything changes.

You think that you are empowered by writing this in a public forum, but it is not going to get you anywhere. We are a reputable clinic with a reputable staff which care about animals and we care about our work we take a lot of pride in it But things go wrong and it's not always our fault you admitted that the other dog was playing and sutures break they're not indestructible. We had this discussion you left Happy. The wound was sutured closed in an appropriate manner that you feel that you were mistreated. We would've been happy to help if you would've come in with a nice attitude and we would've done our best to make sure the situation was dealt with. Instead, you and your mother felt That you should scream and you feel that if you scream the loudest it will get heard. Unfortunately, you ended up spending more money at another place which did nothing more than what we did initially. I wish you could see life a little bit with a happier lens instead of a bitter lens, thinking everyone is out to get you. Buddha is a very nice dog and I wish him the best. This is my response....the wound was never closed and i have the pictures to prove it. you sent the animal home with a gaping open wound, no collar and no antibiotics. lets just wait for the lawsuit to settle and see what objective observers think. it is you who needs to be ashamed...you are butchers not vets! Defensive denial is their go to!

I was running about 20 minutes late due to heavy Brickell traffic, so I called ahead to let them know in case they needed to reschedule me. The front desk told me to still come in and assured me they would be able to see us. When I arrived, I specifically asked about the wait time because I knew I was late, and I was told it should not be long since the doctor only had one appointment ahead of us. While waiting, I was informed that my cat's CareClub plan had been canceled and I needed to pay $110 to reactivate it, which I did immediately. Shortly after, a technician brought us into a treatment room and asked about the reason for the visit. He was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, after that we were left waiting in the treatment room for nearly 2 hours with absolutely no communication or updates from anyone. Nobody checked in on us or explained the delay. At that point, I decided to leave. I walked right past the front desk where four employees were standing, and nobody stopped me, asked if everything was okay, or even acknowledged that I was leaving after waiting that long. It honestly felt like nobody even noticed. I completely understand that emergencies and delays happen at veterinary clinics, but the lack of communication, organization, and consideration during this visit was extremely frustrating.
