I went for a routine checkup and cleaning last week, but wasn't as satisfied with the services. A brief google search led me to here and I had a follow up visit 3 days after my initial visit at my previous dental office and am happy to say I'm back under the care of Dr. Simon! Thorough treatment plan proposed and accepted (and saving tons of money from my first quote)! Clean office, best dental assistant I've ever encountered and seamless (painless) X-rays! Excited to meet the rest of her team!

At the time, I was in the process of moving back to California and couldn't schedule the follow ups, and thank god for that because it would have been a waste of money. After my appointment at the new office here in CA, I was told that 2 of the recommended fillings from Aurora Village's medical files were never necessary and were actually just stains on the tooth. The third was actually damage on the side of my tooth from one of the other cleanings/fillings that I did have done at Aurora Village. Makes me wonder if any of the VERY expensive procedures I got from them were ever necessary. Is it fraud if you prescribe unnecessary services to a patient? Either way I don't recommend this practice for your dental needs simply on the basis of trusting the providers to recommend necessary or even correct treatments.

I went to Accord Dental in Denver, but the only made things worse. The dentist inna , , removed two teeth on my upper right side, leaving me with even less teeth and nothing to chew with. She put in a molar that was bigger and thicker than that area could handle. I was so frustrated and scared that to went yo multiple other states ( CT, NY, NJ, CA, MA) to try and find help, but no one would help me. The pain was so intense that I thought I was going to die. During that time, I had to travel to several states until I finally reached the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; there, they extracted the tooth that had caused me so much pain and suffering for so long. I had been tortured by many dentists; a Muslim dentist at Davenport Dental Care destroyed all my teeth and molars. She even claimed I had fluid on my brain--which struck me as very odd, since she was a dentist, not a neurologist--and referred me to some Indian doctors to have my brain "unscrewed," which terrified me.

TL;DR Five stars for competent, courteous care and a welcoming vibe…read more Until I met Drs Kim and Cici, I was the poster child for dental hesitancy, following traumatic childhood experiences and spurious upselling as an adult. It took a long time to both seek and to find someone I trust with regards to competency and ethics. Enter Dayton Dental. One visit told me I'd found a home. They were patient and understanding with regards to my teeth and my issues with prior practitioners. I felt welcome, not judged, pressured, or hurried. Their advice was on point. The dental assistants impressed me with their knowledge, too. Even better? Not a word of upselling. In addition, their rate for the extraction I need was over $100 less than another practice I visited. Small practices often lack the flashy tech of larger or private equity-owned profit centers. However, smaller practices often feature dentists who have the time and flexibility to ensure personalized care at a reasonable price and build a solid patient-provider relationship over time. l go with that. I never imagined appreciating a dental practice as much as this one, let alone that I'd write a five star review. It's well-earned and thus far, unanimous here on Yelp.

I only leave 5-star reviews because I believe in recognizing excellence rather than sharing…read moregrievances. This is my first 1-star review, and I want to be clear about why I felt compelled to write it: the front desk failures at Hampden Dentistry directly cost me approximately $1,000 out of pocket. Here is what happened: I had a scheduled appointment for May 26th. On May 12th I experienced a dental emergency -- a chipped crown so sharp it was causing real discomfort -- and I called to ask if I could be seen sooner. I was told there was absolutely no availability and was placed on a cancellation list. Left with no option, I visited an emergency dentist on May 15th. Because that provider was out of network with my insurance, I was responsible for $2,700 -- a cost I would not have incurred had Hampden Dentistry accommodated my emergency. At my May 26th appointment, my dentist expressed surprise at how my call had been handled and acknowledged that the practice has a protocol for emergency requests that was not followed. I appreciated her candor, but that acknowledgment didn't resolve the financial harm. That same visit, I was promised an emailed estimate for an upcoming crown. It was never sent. When I followed up, I was told it had already been emailed -- it had not. On June 4th I sent a detailed, professional email to the practice requesting a modest accommodation of $700 -- the difference between what I paid out of network and what I would have paid at Hampden. On June 5th I received a call promising a follow-up within 7 business days. No follow-up came. On June 17th I sent a final follow-up requesting a response by June 20th. I heard nothing. My dentist is a skilled and caring clinician and this review is not about her. It is about a practice whose front desk failed to follow emergency protocols and cost a patient significant money -- and whose owner was made personally aware of the situation, promised a response within 7 business days, and never followed through.

I have been coming here since 2015 back when Dr. Raymond Frye was the main dentist. I did not like…read morehim at all (see my notes on that below), but I loved Jules, the dental hygienist. It seemed like there was a rotating wheel of of new dentists there for a while...I was thinking about changing dentists around that time. But then Dr. Ray left the practice! I decided to give the new dentist (Dr. Harris) a chance. I like him much better than Dr. Ray...in as much as a typical person likes their dentist. I don't hate him so that is a huge improvement! I had a cleaning recently and then last week I had a crown break in half and they got me in same day to fix it, but it turns out that I have to get new crown. They have went above and beyond my expectations in figuring out how to proceed with replacing the crown. Dr. Harris decided to use a different material for the crown that will last longer in my particular mouth. Ruby (assistant) is very nice and keeps me well informed when I'm in the chair. Dr. Harris also explains everything clearly. Courtney is cheerful as always when scheduling appointments. I love their use of new technology! Or at least what seems to be new to me. It's impressive to a layperson. From the X-rays to photographing my teeth with a special little wand-like camera. Everything is displayed on a computer screen that you can see. Their teamwork is also excellent. They use headsets to communicate back and forth and it seems to be working well. I can't remember a time when I had to wait in the dental chair bc somebody (dentist) is busy with something else. Also, shout out to Jules, the dental hygienist. She uses the cleanings to educate me about dental health and proper care. I don't floss as much as I should, but she doesn't shame me. She simply states facts about the consequences of not flossing. She's conscientious about any discomfort during her cleanings, too. I think my first cleaning with her in 2015 was my worst cleaning with her (pain-wise) simply bc I never flossed before that and my mouth was inflamed. She did her best to make it quick but still thorough. So...Dr. Ray...I first went to this place because it is really close to my house. I got Invisalign...I regret that. I expected more monitoring from the actual dentist instead of the techs. Things may be different now. But it was not a very pleasant experience for me especially when interacting with Dr. Ray. I had questions and concerns about the Invisalign process, but there was a breakdown in communication in either how I was wording the questions or how he was interpreting them. I never got the answers I was seeking from him that particular day. I ended up leaving the office in tears and visibly upset because I felt so very dismissed and ignored by him. But I kept going back bc I had to finish the Invisalign process. Besides all of that, I was not impressed with his "celebrity" clientele that was displayed. His personality just didn't click with me. It all was very odd to me. If I happened to review this office when Dr. Ray was still present, I would have definitely left a review with fewer stars. However, since he's gone now, I think Dr. Harris and the current staff deserve 5 stars.
