Cute booths and lots of long tables, great for small parties and large ones too. The hashbrowns were good and crispy. The eggs were perfectly cooked, but somehow the eggs did have a crispy edge, so not sure how they cooked them. Sausage and bacon were delicious. Corm beef hash is likely from the can. The only real negative is the coffee, which tastes more like tea, so strange. Otherwise not a bad place to stop. read more

Excellent roadside diner with Old Florida vibe! We stopped for lunch on our way to the east coast! The staff was extremely friendly, it was very clean, and the food was delicious! The portions are over the top! Wait staff splits their tips which makes for a more pleasant experience. The all just help each other out and there's always someone close by if you need anything! Went there on a Friday for lunch and had the buffet which consisted of fried turkey, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, stewed okra, green beans, butter beans, buttermilk biscuits, greens, cornbread, salad bar and pineapple upside down cake. Nice little home style restaurant outside Okeechobee on sr 70 is a good breakfast and lunch stop if that's your travel route. Not much else in the area except cows. We had breakfast served by friendly staff in a clean restaurant. Nothing fancy, just fresh eggs crisp bacon and good coffee. At lunch this place has a buffet style AYCE or home style menu. Friday lunch is very popular with the trucker crowd and you're lucky to get a seat so come early they only serve until 3 or until the food is gone. read more

We are a group of 10 guys and we have been meeting here for breakfast once a month for years. We sat down and with in a few minutes the waitress rudely. Told us to get up and move, they had a larger group coming in. We thought she was joking at which point she became nasty and very insulting. We moved to two other tables separating our group. We waited for 30 minutes with no menus or drinks. We took the hint left. This was a humiliating experience. We were on back roads and it was Sunday. It was eat there or hit a gas station Subway. We said it smelled like nursing home food when we walked in. We decided a hamburger might be safer than the buffet. Our waitress was a bit snarky and in the end, our order was wrong and didn't change the bill to reflect we didn't get the bacon on the burger. The onion rings and the tatter tots tasted the same. The signs on the wall were very interesting. Thank goodness I am conservative or I would have been nervous! I mainly go here after church services on a Sunday afternoon with family. The food here is pretty good no complains on my end. Though the place has a decent menu I barely order from it. What's really good about this place is the buffet. And that's what I always go for. Each visit is different you'll never know what they're serving that day. On this day I got what seems to be early Thanksgiving dinner. And it was the staff is friendly, the bathrooms clean and the place is very family oriented. Love this place! read more

We have lived in Okeechobee for a couple years now, and have passed by Crossroads many times on our way to & from Fort Pierce. After a sunrise hike at Paleo Hammock Preserve in Port St. Lucie, we decided to finally stop by and try their breakfast. Let's say that we will definitely be back. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and cheap. We had two veggie omelettes ( 2 egg for my wife, 4 egg for me) and two cups of coffee. The omelettes came with choice of grits, hash browns or home fries, and choice of bread. The omelettes were big, even the 2 egg, and the sides of potatoes put most restaurants in Okeechobee to shame. Decent coffee, too... The total was $20 with 18% tip. It is even close enough that we might go there just to go there...try it...you'll like it... read more

What a disappointment. A group of us stopped here for lunch. A few of the people decided to get the buffet including my husband. I ordered my meal with strict instructions that it was to be gluten free. My meal came and the chicken was on a roll. A big no no. That was sent back. My husband went back to the buffet for seconds and they had run out of the main course of beef. When the waitress asked how things were he said he was still hungry and wanted more beef (only had one piece). Her response was they ran out and it wasn't her problem. We asked to see a manager. She sent someone over who wasn't the manager and not very willing to help. Come to find out the restaurant is run by all people related. The lack of concern and rudeness was uncalled for. read more

Bland, lazy food. I ordered a BLT with tots and added the salad bar. Ummm, a BLT is the easiest sandwich to make and they managed to mess it up. The bread was toasted just enough to be stale, but still floppy...there was only three pieces of bacon..and the tots had no flavor. Not even salt. I'm almost certain the salad bar wasn't at the appropriate temperature, the blue cheese was just about room temp. I understand it's cheap, but I would rather pay a couple bucks more and have something that isn't total crap. I really wanted it to be good, home cooking. Far from it. read more

My friends and I stopped here after the Okeechobee festival ended because it was the closest place to eat and has good reviews. The sign said they close at 2:30, and we got there at 2. Several other cars were pulling up with us from the festival as well. They literally locked the door and turned everyone away. First of all, I've never seen a restaurant that closes a half hour before their scheduled time, especially on a day that could bring a lot of potential business. If anything, they should stay open an extra hour or so, and try to bring in as much money as possible. A LOT of festival kids that camped all weekend would like some good hot food. That's what a smart owner/manager would do. I don't live on this coast so I'll never be back, and will never know how good the food is or not. Oh well. read more
