We have been going to the Galaxy Diner for years, but last night had a dinner so good that I felt the need to post a review. I had one of their dinner specials - veal parmesan - expecting it to be "good", as their food always is. However, this rivaled what I have had at "upscale" Italian restaurants. My wife tried a piece, and said "But...this is a diner..." Dawn is an excellent server, and Skyler is always friendly when we come in. Overall, great food at reasonable prices! read more

Everything was amazing! From the "welcome in" when we walked through the door to the sweetest server that took our order!! 100% The food was absolutely delicious! Our expectations were building with every plate that passed us. One dish better than the next! Then our plates arrived - Lox platter was the best I've had. We both had meat loaf today's veg which was well prepared not over done good mashed potatoes lots of it too lots of meatloaf diner food served hot with side salad . Had plenty to bring home. Took a dog bag arf.. sweet server wrote which one is mine without asking. She's a keeper. Hostess is a bit rough! But she takes the money and seats people. Lots of different things on the menu. I'm used to downtown Stuart food but we were driving back from west palm thought let's try something different. Wouldn't put this on my regular go to but good for occasional ! Nice diner and location, in a shopping plaza with lots of parking. Party of 6 promptly seated for breakfast, and drink orders taken. First time I'm unhappy with the waitress that we had on May 13th! Food was good, but not the waitress in anyway shape or form! I guess they are new and haven't been well trained. I guess I'll have to see who's working before we sit and order! Very disappointing after 20 years of eating there! read more

We had a good lunch here as we stopped to take a needed break while driving north. Found this place on my yelp app and since my husband likes diner food, we made the slight detour. The restaurant is located on the corner end of a strip shopping center. It was fairly busy during lunch hour. But we were greeted on arrival and taken to a booth. The room is decorated nautically with anchors, sail boats, oars, and a lot of blue and white. I'd called it a luncheonette, but it is open past lunch and also offers early dinners. They had a sheet with the daily specials on it. I chose one of the soups of the day -- chicken orzo. The cup was full of orzo pasta and pieces of shredded white meat chicken and carrots in a chicken based broth. My husband decided to have their turkey dinner -- since it was the day before Thanksgiving. It was a large plate with mashed potatoes, turkey slices over some stuffing, and real al dente green beans with a touch of garlic. All covered in brown gravy. They served some jellied cranberry sauce on the side. He enjoyed his meal. I had a turkey sandwich. It came with lettuce on the white bread toast. All sandwiches come with a pickle spear, per the menu. And I requested cranberry sauce and some thousand island dressing, too. My sandwich was okay. I ate half and took half with me. The soup had been filling. It's a good stop if you are passing by the area as it is not far from the interstate. And diners are always a good choice when you're with a number of folks who may all want different things to eat -- from breakfast to lunch. read more

The food is a 3. Last night as my guest and I waited 10 minutes to be offered drinks Sarah showed up. I'm so sorry I didn't see you! The restaurant was about 1/3 full, it was Father's Day. We waited another 10 minutes for the drinks. Our meals were brought to us, soup, entrees everything at once. I said it would be better to have soup first. My plate was tossed on the table and Sarah said ' Eat it or not. I don't care'. And last but not least there is a hostess tip jar. No one got a tip. read more

The eggs - poached soft - excellent, pancake - simply delicious, light and fluffy (I hate heavy and flour tasting) this pancake was fantastic, wonderful tasting, the French toast - Texas type thickness, again simply delicious powdered with confectionary sugar - wonderful. The 2 sausage links - not those wimpy type - these were big, and delicious. Also had some of my wife's home fries - delicious! If anything subpar is the coffee - nothing to write home about- lose the mini - moo type of cream - I like pourable half & half. Maybe get OJ.. overall the breakfast was fantastic! We always went for breakfast with not complaints unfortunately not so this time! We got there 11:30 and we were handed the breakfast/lunch specials along with the regular menu. Took forever to get our drinks. When we ordered my husband opted for the French toast special, nope out of that! Opted for regular French toast with grits, nope out of grits! A breakfast place out of grits?? My granddaughter got an egg salad sandwich, that was it just a sandwich no chips fries or anything. I got the Taylor ham sandwich with cheese and home fries, the home fries looked like they were from the start of the day! Took forever to get our food also. This was a welcome lunch stop . Easy access and easy parking as this place is located on the westernmost end of a large strip center.Clean and bright interior. We were greeted and seated immediately. One of the lunch specials, the day before Thanksgiving , was a Roasted Turkey plate, including soup of choice, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. , cranberry sauce and fresh string beans.My turkey plate was delivered hot and Delicious!Just a few miles east of I95, we will have to remember this as a lunch destination for future trips. read more

The unsweetened tea was good but the sweet tea was awful. Almost rancid and seemed like it may have been from the day before. We both got basically the same thing. Two eggs scrambled with 4 pieces of bacon, hash brown potatoes, and a bread choice. We went with white toast and French toast. Asked for 1 piece received two. Scrambled eggs should be scrambled. Not a blob of yellow on a plate. The potatoes were just hot smashed potatoes. Not browned or seasoned just hot smashed potatoes. The bacon was tissue paper thin. Just give me two regular pieces not 4 terrible ones. The French toast was decent. The best part of the meal was the white toast. 50.00 with tip! Two people BREAKFAST !! Very rude service. The food was terrible. I ordered steak and got "steak shape" ground beef. When I very nicely asked for a refund the woman was very rude and denied me even though I hadn't touched the food AT ALL. After going back and forth for a while she finally offered an exchange, so I finally find an option that was $2 more which I had to pay for the food I didn't want or enjoy... The food I received was terrible and the service overall was also terrible I would never go back here. read more

3 1/2 stars. I love an old fashioned diner and Galaxy fits the bill. Conveniently located in a Publix shopping center, you can stop for a bite before or after errands. There are booths and tables. There was no distance between them but the place was not too busy when we were there. All staff were wearing masks. Galaxy has typical diner fare. For me that usually means ordering a veggie egg white omelet. I received regular eggs. There seemed to be some controversy (even with my family) as to whether I actually said egg white. Perhaps I said it in my mind. Thank you to 16 year old who shared his egg white omelet with me. I did taste the regular eggs. They tasted like "industrial eggs". The grits were good and tasted homemade. The server kept my coffee cup filled. It was okay, but could have been a bit stronger for my taste. The rest of the family enjoyed their food including a Western Egg White Omelet, Greek Omelet, and, Egg Sandwich. I must mention that the side fruit cup was completely fresh, ripe fruit. Located off Kanner Hwy. In Stuart we have eaten there 3x's always via take out. The Grouper sandwich was out of this world. I did not have a proper phone to take pix. I do enjoy a good diner and this is one of the best I've been too. It has a nice dining area and mural's on the wall for a pleasant atmosphere. They have an excellent menu with a little of everything that anyone would want. I had the seafood platter which was very hearty and tasty!! It had fish, scallops, shrimp and hush puppies along with two sides. My guest had liver and onions which was a plate full and very tasty as well. They have beer and wine and always my favorite drink, unsweetened iced tea! If you have room in your little belly after a good meal, they have some really good desserts which are large, so be prepared! My friend and I ate here for the first time and really enjoyed our lunch. Sheila was our server and was very kind to bring us things like napkins and extra mayo without us asking, as well as helping us choose a dessert. I got a turkey club and ended up not needing the extra mayonnaise because my sandwich came with the right amount for me. It's the little things, lol. I liked the potato salad (it doesn't have anything crunchy in it if that's something you need, but my plate also came with a big pickle, so it all works out).
