As an adult, I felt it was time I could take charge of that. Alex was able to assess, work with me, and give me the tools I need to articulate in a clearer way. More specifically, Alex helped with a little bit of a lisp issue, breath support, and fluency. I believe this will help me be a better communicator in my career and in life. Lino started Speech Therapy through Early Intervention in January 2025. At that time, he was using single words, able to name pictures here and there, but couldn't even say "help" when I could see he was asking for it in his own way. His patience was short, which made communication tough. He also had delays with motor skills. He could hold utensils and knew they were for eating--he would bring them to his mouth--but he wasn't able to hold them strongly or in the correct way. After months of practice and support, he's now using utensils just fine, and I'm so proud of how far he's come. He began receiving Speech Therapy-Grace, Occupational Therapy-Madelyn, and Developmental Therapy-Shirley once a week. After 8 months of consistent therapy, the progress has been incredible. Lino is now able to make sentences, loves to sing, and can clearly say what he wants. His play skills have also grown--he enjoys playing with others and now involves people around him, which has been wonderful to see. We are especially grateful to his therapist, who has shown how much they truly care about Lino. The patience, dedication, and encouragement they've given him (and us as parents) mean so much. They don't just teach--they celebrate every small win with us, and that has made all the difference. Looking back, it's amazing to see how much progress he has made, and we are deeply thankful for the team who has supported him every step of the way. read more

Grace was amazing!! Couldn't have asked for a better speech therapist for our daughter!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Crossroads Speech & Occupational Therapy was unacceptable, unethical, and deeply upsetting. From day one, there was a complete lack of communication and professionalism. We never received a proper treatment plan or initial evaluation until we had to ask for it--months into services. When we finally saw it, it was filled with copy-pasted language, alternating pronouns (calling my son both "he" and "she"), and outright inaccuracies. It was clear that this document was thrown together with no genuine thought or care. But the most disturbing part? We discovered that the therapist, Summer Herzog, was staying only 20-30 minutes per session, something confirmed by timestamped logs from our son's ABA center, yet full sessions were billed week after week. On top of that, we were charged repeated travel fees, despite the sessions being short, inconsistent, and often lacking in follow-up. We would never have even known how little time was being spent with our son if it weren't for the transparency of the other professionals involved in his care. Crossroads only acknowledged this when we brought the evidence forward and even then, they attempted to dismiss the concern as a misunderstanding or difference in "perception." That is insulting. These are verifiable records, not opinions. Eventually, we were refunded the travel fees, but only after I raised the possibility of involving our insurance company and legal counsel. That's not accountability that's damage control. We discontinued services immediately, and frankly, I regret ever trusting this company with my child's care. What makes this worse is that our son is nonverbal. He cannot advocate for himself, and Crossroads seemed perfectly content to take advantage of that silence. To the leadership at Crossroads: shame on you for allowing this kind of careless and misleading care to continue under your name. And to other families reading this: I strongly urge you to think twice before trusting this clinic with your loved ones and especially if they are nonverbal or require extra advocacy. No child or adult with special needs should ever be treated like this or used for billing purposes while receiving minimal support. We've since found a provider who actually shows up, communicates clearly, and takes our son's development seriously. I hope no other family has to go through what we did. read more

I am the father of a 19 month old boy and of Nicole Kovalevsky was his occupational therapist and I'm writing this because she did such a fabulous job with him. Nicole tended to my sons needs even when he was having a bad day. She would compose herself and we know that sometimes it's difficult dealing with a toddler. She was always very soft-spoken and attentive to all of my son's needs. Nicole also was very easy to understand when I asked her questions and she explained activities or homework for me to do with Riley. This made it more possible over the weeks that she was working with my son for me, his father to help him with the tasks which she was recommending. Nicole was also available to talk with, even when she wasn't on site at the house. If I had any questions or concerns, she was quite prompt in getting back to me with answers for whatever I had asked. I overall truly believe that any new clients that she receives are lucky to have her as an occupational therapist, and I couldn't be any more grateful for what she has done with helping my child with his developmental milestones. I would just like to thank her again because she's an exceptional person with a brilliant future with your company with whom she's currently employed. We worked with Abby for a little less than two years. My daughter and I absolutely adore her. We only had one session with her before the pandemic hit and everything went virtual. Virtual learning is a challenge but in our virtual sessions Abby was always so incredibly patient and understanding. This was the most wonderful experience because not only did Abby engage my daughter and help her to feel successful, but she also empowered me with the tools I needed as a parent to help my daughter grow. Crossroads has been such an amazing experience/ process from the start. I first spoke with Katie who was absolutely reassuring and put my nerves to ease that my three year old would get the help he needed. Of course during this crazy time I was so happy to hear they were still doing in person therapy. They follow all CDC protocols and we feel comfortable allowing them into our home. We had a fantastic experience with Crossroads Speech Therapy! From intake, to therapy sessions, to discharge, Crossroads made every aspect of speech therapy for our child easy and productive! Scheduling our initial appointment and setting up our evaluation and billing was simple and quick. Crossroads handled all of our insurance and billing seamlessly and I was able to do nearly everything online. Our initial evaluation and meeting resulted in an objective assessment of our child's abilities, identified the areas they needed to work on, and laid out a clear plan moving forward. The location for our sessions was convenient to our home, comfortable, and had easy parking! The outcomes that our child achieved were exactly what we hoped for and resulted in rapid elimination of the minor issues he was having with his speech. The therapist gave a great summary after each session on progress being made, goals for the future, and what we could do at home to support progress. Perhaps most importantly, our child had a great time working with his therapist, Ms. Jaime. My son is 2.5 years old and has been working with Alexa for the last 6 months. When we first started working with her, my son spoke only a few words. He now is stringing 7+ word sentences together! My son looks forward to his weekly appointment with Alexa and is always met with great excitement from her at the start of each appointment. Alexa is incredibly patient, kind, and very knowledgeable about the ways to increase my son's speaking abilities. She also has been very accommodating with switching speech appointment times due to our changing schedule. They were so responsive when we needed to get our daughter started in speech services.  Later, I mentioned my older son was struggling with writing and I didn't even realize that was something a speech pathologist could help with but we received so much support there too. Katie has been an absolutely fantastic speech therapist to our 3 year old son. The one thing we were initially concerned with was finding someone that 3 could relate to and enjoy spending time with. Nothing is worse than having a threenager who hates an activity and/or person, telling you NO every 30 seconds. Well that wasn't the case here (pause for shock and awe). 3 loves when Katie comes over and even more so, hates when she leaves. She has done a fantastic job of getting him to practice and still feel engaged in fun. Numerous friends, family members, and even my wife and I have noticed a marked change in our son's speech and very few things he says come across as a "huh" moment. We get homework after every session, a breakdown of how he did, and Katie really spends the time to review things with us so that we know how to manage our behaviors around his learnings. My daughter worked with several therapists over the course of several years at Crossroads and they were all amazing. Specifically Katie and Alex. My daughter was about 8-9 when she was receiving services, and Katie and Alex were both so great about finding age-appropriate activities for her to do while working on her speech. They truly got to know her (even online) and made sure to do things that fit her interests. The highest praise I can give (aside from the fact that my daughter's speech has improved dramatically) is that when it was time for speech, she ran to the computer with no complaints! Do not look further, Crossroad Therapy is the best hands down. No words can describe our great experience with Katie, Ellie and Courtney. My 3 year old son had delays in speech and cognitive function. Before crossroads, he would just use sign gestures such as point at something he wanted or just nod his head instead of saying yes. We struggled to understand him at times and worried that he'd continue to be delayed. We had him work with a speech therapist in the past for a few months but unfortunately that did not help at all. His pediatrician recommended we try therapy again. My husband looked up therapists in Chicago and after speaking to Katie once, we knew we had to go with Crossroads. They made the starting process so easy and quick that within just a week we had our first session. Here we are, only a month after starting and my son speaks sentences at a minimum of three words on his own. Worst service, communication, and professionalism I've ever experienced. If you're thinking about using Crossroads for your child's speech therapy needs you should strongly reconsider. My child was being seen by this group for months for speech and food aversion therapy. The speech part was particularly disappointing because no only was there hardly any progress made in the months of 2 weekly sessions, they routinely switch therapists and you get charged charged per session for a "new assessment" with each new therapist and it's basically a loss of the actual therapy the child should be getting. That brings me to the food aversion therapy we were told that they have expertise in. We let them know that we want food to be the focus of our child's therapy going forward and it was never once touched on other than them reporting to us that he doesn't seem to like certain foods and there is no way of really knowing why. After about a month of nothing happening towards our goals I asked for an update to which I was responded back to by the very rude and emotionally unstable owner, saying that she doesn't appreciate her methods being questioned and that she was dropping our child from their care. So not only did they rip me off of thousands of dollars, they also put my child and our family in a very difficult position of having to find a new therapist and go through the entire process again. I would highly encourage anyone who has their child's best interests at heart to find anywhere else to take them. read more

My nearly 3-yr-old son has been working with Ms. Stacey for about a year and we cannot say enough good things about her. She helped identify his tongue-tie early on in their relationship, which was significantly preventing his speech from developing. Once we had that removed, his speech has taken off with the ongoing help of Ms. Stacey. She tailors her coaching to meet his needs every week and continues to push him to get even better. She comes to our house with a positive attitude every session ready to dive in. If she had a terrible day, we'd never know It. She also gives my husband and me the tools to help our son continue to grow between sessions such as worksheets and games to play that facilitate learning. We really enjoyed working with Crossroads and our therapist, Alex. Our two year old's speech improved dramatically with their help! Alex came to our house to provide assistance and was very good with COVID precautions, wearing a mask (along with myself), taking our temperatures and keeping hands and toys clean. Alex at Crossroads Speech Therapy is amazing! Our son, Noah, began speech therapy at about 20 months and in just a few short months, his progress has been incredible. He went from saying only about 3 words (mama, papa and key) to speaking in full sentences and saying 3 syllable words. Alex was very patient, kind and effective in her approach, really tailoring each visit to Noah's needs and making the lessons fun and interactive. She also took the time to discuss his progress with us, so that we understood what needed to be worked on in between visits. Alex gave us great tips on improving his behavior from eating to sharing to playing, as well. He even starts cleaning up his toys the moment she arrives! Noah now expresses himself and communicates so well that he has actually been discharged and today was his last day. We will really miss Alex, but will continue following her lessons and are grateful to have had her as our son's therapist. We choose Katie from a list of several speech therapist provided by my son's school when his teachers suggested we get him evaluated. Katie was so warm, welcoming, patient and fun that my 4 year old looked forward to going and thought it was a special outing for him.
