I was a happy camper visiting this place. Shopping for recycled clothes makes me feel like a smart shopper. Crossroads is a very organized place with great lighting. When I shop, I like to have good lighting...pretty important to me to see I get the bang for my buck! While shopping around, I liked how they even displayed clothes on the walls, but if I was interested in something on there, it would've been hard for me to get since it was so high up. The dressing rooms were very nice. There were a lot of rooms in case it got busy, and the rooms weren't small either. It was a pretty good size. All in all, I would definitely visit this place again when I'm in NYC. Love it!!! read more

The name brands you can find in this store are 100% better than Buffalo Exchange. I'm talking Marc Jacobs, Seychelles, Sam Edelman, Rag&Bone, etc. Definitely worth the trip. They lose a star for a really nonexistent plus-sized selection, though. read more

I came in with my third batch of clothes the other day and was pretty disappointed they didn't take three pairs of worn-maybe-twice shoes. I went on over to Buffalo Exchange and they took everything Crossroads did not. I can understand they are trying to keep their quality high, but if you're looking to sell and don't have too much time to spend going all around town, maybe do not try Crossroads first unless you're selling a bunch of unquestionable J Brand jeans or something. I've bought one thing here, a like-new H&M cotton shirtwaist dress for $15 (too much, but it was actually quite cute). Other than that, I find their selection is a lot of Urban Outfitters slightly worn stuff. read more

It was my first time selling here. I came on a Sunday evening with two bags of clothes. As soon as I walked in, a nice guy at the front greeted me and told me to sign in. I was nervous that it would take all evening but there were only four people ahead of me and I waited no more than 20 minutes. I had a mix of party/work/casual dresses, a pair of unworn boots and a few jeans and pants. The buyer was really nice and went through everything carefully. Out of all of my stuff, she took four items. She did say that they were looking for fall winter items but some of the items she took didn't necessarily fall into that category so I wasn't sure why she chose some items over the rest. Ok, so I'm not big on customer service. I prefer to shop on my own, without being harassed every five minutes by brainwashed sales associates, but Crossroads takes the cake. You either get the grumpy girl in the back, who is either new, or has a really bad day, but clearly should be working in a cubicle, alone. Then there's the guy "buying" clothes from you at the front of the store, without a smile, nor word, nor explanation, as if he's Anna freakin' Wintour. Then finally you get to the register, and your soul shivers as you are being rung up by a tall blond glamazon wannabe whose idea of a human interaction is clearly a page she memorized in some corporate handbook. I have gone there twice in the past month, on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon, and the place is usually a mess, with clothes on the floor, and the line to the register so long it makes you want to seriously reconsider Beacon's Closet. The prices are fair and the selection pretty interesting (I did score a DVF dress for 30 bucks!) but I'd rather sit at 16Handles next door for an hour getting assaulted aurally by Rihanna, and eating "healthy" fro-yo, than subject myself to Crossroads. Who is running this place? But hey, on the plus side, thanks to them I am now a member of Yelp! read more

I love shopping at Second Hand Stores. I'm a strong believer that "One man's trash is another man's treasure." You will find all sorts of things at these types of shops. Whether it's things for your home, recreational sport, outerwear, boots, shoes and accessorites and especially clothing. You can find the special piece to complete an outfit. At this great shop you will find tons of clothing for a really good price. At other places they usually carry women's clothing, but here they do have a GREAT selection of clothing for Men. Lot's of hats, bags and belts as well. It's very clean and organized here. You don't have to go through overpacked racks for that one shirt you have your eye on. The prices are very reasonable. This will definitely be on my list of places to hit up when I do my weekly shopping trips in the area. read more

I like to thrift and this place ranks very high on my list. Men's section is less impressive but I found a really cool All Saints tee in there for super cheap. Wandered over to the women's sale rack and I score a classic white Vivienne Westwood jacket. for $15. GAME OVER. Had my eye on a pair of patent leather Doc Martens, but they were sadly not my size. Selection is a bit overwhelming, but if you can power through the sensory overload, you'll find some good stuff. read more

This is the worst of every buy-sell-trade place. The staff is rude, the selection is horrible, and the store is always a wreck. The staff never addressed you, barely even looks at you, and if they do they're rolling their eyes. If you have clothes that aren't in good condition and are super out of date and not trendy, this would be the place to bring them. read more

I went here today to sell some stuff. Everything I brought in was on trend and Summer season. The buyer was very friendly and made conversation with me, but it didn't look like he was really even looking at my pieces. He didn't explain why they didn't take my clothes other than that they have a lot of the same stuff in stock. I ended up selling one dress. He offered to try their Manhattan location (I am guessing stuff moves faster there). I'm not complaining that they didn't take my stuff, just noting that they are a little more choosey than other comments have noted on here. If you are looking to sell here, the buyer explained to me that they only take the current season's clothing, so just make a note of that before you lug stuff around! The store is clean and well organized and I would be lying if I said I didn't find a couple of things here. I ended up buying a top shop crocheted sweater (I can't believe I bought a sweater in July), and a couple of tank tops. I think one tank top was new, because it looks like they have a small selection of new clothing up front. I rated three stars because you're not going to find that "special something" in here. It looked like they had a couple of nice consignment piece but they were all pretty boring, I think the buyers just buy because it's a name brand. A red Stella McCartney pencil skirt isn't super thrilling when it is used and $135. There were no killer pieces hanging up on the wall. As far as the regular stuff out on the racks, it's 85% Forever 21 (I found one pair of Marc but Marc shorts but they were ugly mom Jorts). Nothing wrong with any of this, it's just what it is. Crossroads is like In & Out burger, El Pollo Loco, Roscoes Chicken & Waffles, in the way that if you live in So Cal, you know about it, you frequent it. If you live here, you know nothing of, and youre missing out. I hate having to review this because I want them to stay quiet, clean, and like my own private little shopping heaven. Seriously. I told a line of people in Buffalo Exchange to go sell here because they need it. I also told another girl looking at a $35 Banana Republic purse (Too much!) to go here. I sound like I should work here, but its just because I have spent years buying good clothes at Crossroads in CA, and its never let me down. Downside: Mens, always. No matter where you go. Not enough stuff, always more expensive. I dont know why this is...? It drives my male friends crazy. However my friend did find a rad pair of high top Toms in his size for $30. Ok, not terrible. I have been a loyal customer and seller here for many years and as of lately I no longer come here due to one employee specificly. I believe he is a manger and his name is Derek. On multiple occasions he has been extremely rude to me and other friends and family I have sent to the location. I have become well acquainted with many workers there and they are all very friendly and helpful but for some reason this employee is always rude and short with me. I've seen him cut the buy line for friends of his and also skim through clothing of mine and other customers seemingly for the purpose of just getting through the line quickly. He has even treated his staff poorly in front of me and other guests. It's sad to see a place I once loved to shop at have a manager with such low standards and attitude. read more

I discovered Crossroads in LA, and was so happy to see there was a location in Brooklyn as well! My review is from a shopper standpoint- I have no experience selling to Crossroads. I love coming here because their buyers do a great job of curating interesting clothing, and always in great condition if not new (with tags!). Some of my best finds have been from Crossroads in LA and NY, including my all time favorite jeans (One Teaspoon brand) and leather jacket. The staff was friendly, and even helped me out when I needed a second opinion on some jeans I was trying on. Pricing is very reasonable considering the trends are modern and the condition is always great. It isn't the best bargain in town if you want true thrifting, so just know that Crossroads is more of a "second hand/ modern consignment" shop than a place for vintage finds or a goodwill. I also like that the pricing allows Crossroads to pay their employees a livable wage. All in all, a great place to check out. You never know what you'll find at Crossroads! read more

Great experience selling here today. I'm moving and had quite a few things to purge - the process couldn't have been easier and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. You sign-in and the team texts you when they are ready to review your items. They will talk you through what they are buying and why, so you know for future - but they will also skip that if you just want to get down to business. They only purchase current styles in good condition. Prices were fair. One thing to note is that they are unable to give the remaining clothing/shoes to charity - so make sure you have a plan for anything you really want to part with. Hit or miss like any thrift store;however, it's pretty well organized so it's easy to maneuver through sections. The only complaint I have is their music selection, the day I went in they were playing heavy metal which wanted me to hurry up and get out of the store. I did find some cute summer clothes since where I live most of the time is Miami and I'm sure New Yorkers are already looking for winter clothes so it was a win win for me. I'll never go back to Buffalo Exchange again (where the buyers look you up and down while they judge your clothing- name brand or not). It's a joke to go anywhere else in BK for this. I have actually shopped at all of the Crossroads Stores, but the 135 N 7th St, Brooklyn, NY location is my absolute favorite store! All of the staff there are so sweet and kind and they are very attentive to my belongings whether they are purchasing or passing on them. Rose, Ryan and Diego are very patient when answering any questions (and I can ask a lot - lol) that I may have in regards to purchase pricing and I know that they truly appreciate the fact that I value their store as my number one shop to consign my items at when I'm in New York. They always express that to me when I come visit and staff at the other Crossroads locations have never been so expressive with gratitude for my patronage. I highly recommend that you put Crossroads N 13th Street on your list to visit when you are in the area....or just go make that special trip to go see the store for yourself. This was my first time selling my clothes, so I was pretty surprised how picky these people are! They took 2 of my best dresses and a pair of jeans - retailed them for why I bought them for actually. Clean, bright, and staff is friendlier than some of the similar exchange places in the area. If you're selling, know that they pay close attention to labels, but they also offer 35% instead of 30%, and they took some of the stuff I couldn't sell elsewhere. I came on a wednesday afternoon and was shocked to see so many people waiting to sell their clothes to them. The wait time was atrocious; I waited 45 mins to an hour to sell my clothes. They were specific about choosing of course, mentioned that forever21 and h&m were close to their selling range and that it doesn't make a dent in their sales if they bought it from us. It's a hit or miss depending their inventory that day. I didn't sell much but I sold a little more here than in Beacon's closet. At least the people here aren't stuck up and rude like they are. I will come back again to sell and try my luck next month. read more

Crossroads was a really welcome addition to the neighborhood a few years ago. I had a really really awful experience at Beacons Closet (whose owner treated me horribly), and find that Buffalo Exchange is hit or miss. While Crossroads does not always have great stuff, I almost always find something there that I consider buying and sometimes find great items at great prices. (A pair of blue suede boots and purple leather boots, both lightly used & sub-$30 come to mind.) Its staff is also really kind & friendly and more willing to buy items than Buffalo. (I used to have good luck selling at Beacon's til that awful experience so I'll never patronize that store again. See my other review for details on that.) Anyway, I'm really happy Crossroads came to the neighborhood and while I will still check Buffalo now & then, Crossroads is my first go-to place for finding unique, reasonably priced items and for selling as well. read more

The only time I've had a good experience here is the few times when the store manager bought from me. I kinda wish yelp would separate the thrift category from consignment. Most of the stuff here is curated, meaning they are a tad pickier about what goes on the racks. And they'll buy stuff from you (which I've not tried). It's busy, bright and clean, and half-filled with mens and women's gear. This shop is a refreshing change from Buffalo Exchange. I've been interested in Crossroads ever since I've seen a girl's hauls on YouTube from them but alas that was all the way in Nor Cal. So I was pretty thrilled when I did a double take walking by it in Williamsburg. The staff is friendly and the merchandise is of good quality, in fashion, is well organized and displayed in a pleasantly visual manner. You can actually see the shoes! I'm not really a fan of going through a messy pile of shoes trying to look for its partner, so this was a huge plus. The pricing wasn't overtly thrifty but it wasn't ridiculously expensive either. As someone who always seems to have more clothes than I can physically wear, I appreciate this place because I've always been able to sell a majority of my items. I was able to get $31 last time for clothes I honestly haven't worn in a year! The selection at this store seems pretty decent, though I'm actually not a fan of recycled clothing. I appreciate that I have a chance to earn a few bucks while cleaning out my closet! The one thing that can be annoying is the wait time--I had to wait about an hour and a half on a Saturday afternoon to get my clothes evaluated. Other than that, I recommend this place! read more

I decided to try my luck with selling at this location, as opposed to the usual Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet. I haven't left a consignment store so irritated, humiliated, and in such a foul mood - possibly ever. When it was my turn, the 'buyer' could not have been less interested in what was on the table, and instead preferred to gossip about a TV show with her coworkers. She hardly glanced at my items, haphazardly threw them around, and piled them in such a way they fell to the floor on her side. Absolutely no sense of respect for other peoples' things, and an apathetic attitude to match. I brought in some more unusual items, and was told that my things were "cute" but they were stocked up on "basics"... eyebrow raising since there was hardly a basic garment in the mix. Anyway, I suppose that's subjective taste. What really got me was the end of my transaction - when I was done and the buyer had chosen one dress, I asked if she needed to see my ID again to link the sale to my name in the system. She said "Yes, at the register" - but! we were at a register, so I was confused and asked for clarification. In short, I was in no uncertain terms made to feel an idiot for not understanding what she meant, and the woman running the register was snobby, as she had witnessed my ignorance. If there's a single manager that reads these, might I recommend a strong reaffirmation of the fact that the buyers' entire job is to make selling (a personal, poignant task sometimes) a positive, encouraging experience. What is the purpose of hiring employees who discourage sellers from coming in? If I find myself there again, it surely won't be for a long while, as this first impression really was one for the books. read more

For selling only- We came in on Saturday about 3:30 and waited just about 1.5 hrs to sell just two of the items i schlepped on over. Unfortunately the bulk was f21 and h&m which they told us they are no longer taking anything from these brands! I sold a max & Cleo dress and a pair of goldsign skinny jeans, total cash back $12.25. Better than nothing! My friend also sold two items but only got $10. The good part is the staff who work there were very patient and friendly. The seating area is really small while waiting for your name to be called. come early to avoid the line to sell and definitely dont have expectations of what you should get back. Come with items you were planning to donate or part with.. They definitely look at brand. If not then they'll look for trendy styles read more

Would have given it four stars, since I always find something there, but.... It's just that I really can't stand how long it takes to check out once you've made your selections. I've put what's in my hands back on the rack after waiting entirely too long and realizing that it was probably going to be another additional 7 minutes when I've already been waiting in line for 5. I know this isn't H&M, but it's frustrating when you see two or three salespeople helping out a single customer in the buyback area, while there's just one single register open with a line of 10 people waiting for it, as it's starting to creep into the men's section.... read more

I go to this location most Fridays since it's on my way home. The staff is so rude , unprofessional and unhelpful. I have had conversations with person waiting to sell items for a very long time while staff carry on conversations among themselves. Personally, I stood by the registers waiting to ask a question while they stood in from of me carrying on their own personal conversation totally ignoring me . Good selection for guys and more for women. I prefer here to buffalo exchange (Wburg), mostly because buff exchange is all packed into such a tiny space and it's always crowded, sometimes can be a fun free for all. Crossroads is more spaced out, lax, and you can actually see what's on the racks and try stuff on, your girlfriend/boyfriend can give you advice on what actually fits you - which is generally helpful. I don't really interact with the staff so don't have too much comment on that, nor have I sold anything. read more

Crossroads Trading Co is a good place to trade in some clothes for credit or cash. I brought a bag of clothing in yesterday, they took a few things and offered me $35 store credit, I got a cute pair of ankle boots in really good shape and still got $15 cash back. They have a good selection of clothing and accessories, so it's a good place to shop even if you don't have anything to trade, and the prices are good. They are really friendly here- always a plus! I've gone twice, and I haven't had to wait forever for them to finish going through my clothing- unlike some of the other clothing trade stores in Williamsburg- another big plus! read more

This current location has really gone downhill, when they first opened, the buyers were well informed about top name brands and had an eye for fashion. Looks like they have gone through 3 rounds of hiring new staff, and the current employees are not as fashion savvy. That said, I would not recommend selling here but a few gems can be found now and then if you plan to rummage and buy. I recently purchased almost new Rachel Comey booties for $25. The inventory now is a reflection of the new buyers, the store is full of H&M, Forever 21, Target Mossimo, Gap and Zara. It's worth the search though, if you are looking for a designer piece. Know your brands before you go in, oddly enough labels do go missing from this store... I was recently eyeing an Alexander McQueen shirt, a couple of weeks later, spotted the same shirt sans label and marked on the tag as Ann Taylor for $12!!! I went to go sell today and saw a woman ahead of me with all theses super cute trendy items and they just said no to all of it. I was looking at her like wtf . Now it is my turn and this place seems to have not puls size so I figured why not give them something to sell. As I'm going up I hear the woman that was ahead of me get 5 dollars for 2 pairs of jeans she sold to them.Like that's ridiculous. Now it's my turn and she was looking through and picked nothing. I was a bit confused. Then she explains that they want name brand and want anything that was in store six months ago. Who buys name brand then sells it 6 months later? She even explains that they pay you 33% of what they are going to sell it for. Like that's just robbing people. It looked nothing like a thrift shop. Bad service. Don't sell here. Sold some clothes and told the woman I wanted to come back and pick up the items and she told me they'd be ready in 2 days and if I don't come back they'll be donated. I came back to the store to pick up my items and they told me "I had signed that I wanted them to be donated" which is false and a mistake on their behalf and didn't want to take any responsibility in the matter. The employee was extremely rude and tried to blame me for everything. He told me several times I had signed for it which I did NOT sign on that part. Not sure why I'd sign for it to be donated and then her tell me to come back and pick it up? I was a regular customer here and won't be anymore because of one particular employee. I know how their system works and he was trying to tell me otherwise. Wish I took his name but he should learn how to treat customers with professionalism and respect.
