I recently had a window repaired by Wilke Window and Door of Shiloh, IL…read more I have no complaint on the quality of the service, however their pricing on labor is extremely outrageously high and very overpriced. Wilke charges $145, to give an estimate. Which consisted of a technician measuring the broken window and taking pictures. The total time spent at this service call was 15 minutes. This has to be pre-paid or they will not come out. They then give you an estimate for materials and service, and 1/2 of that needs to be paid in advance before they will order the materials and schedule a repair. The window replacement took a total of 1 hour, which consisted of removing the lower broken double hung window, and replacing it with a new one. Labor on this 1 hour was $243 So total labor for 1 broken window, total time spent, including two service calls was 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Total labor was $398 I tried to talk to the service manager about this, and he said basically that, it is what it is. I hope to never have to use them again.

If you can keep an open mind, this is the home of good bargains. Since I wrote my review, they STILL have not successfully finished the job at my parent's house, and my Father has retained an attorney. In terms of my own jobs they did - as of 12/18/25 they still haven't paid the sub that they contracted to do the roof. The roof went on 9/25/25 and I paid in full and received a lien waiver from Bianca the same day, yet the sub is still waiting to be paid.

I found them through an ad on Facebook when I was looking for a small business who accepts insurance due to the tornado damage throughout St Louis and Bianca talked to me for weeks under the guise that State Farm would be paying for my roof then come to find out--they don't even work with insurance companies... these people are delaying the sale of my house! Refund my money or give me an appointment... (the house is 750 sq feet & the carport's roof was already done so how hard is it to send 1-2 workers over there to do the roof in a few hours?!?) much easier then cleaning up your reputation online I assure you! The Vice President of JP Morgan Chase is even calling them & can't get an answer!!! Now Mike has called and he refuses to ever give me a new roof due to this honest and factual review... he was full of lies and his real timeline would've been 8 weeks anyway! (I found that out today while he was lying)

We spoke to a different company first that offered microfiber windows, for all the windows and doors we have in the house, that would cost us almost $100k. We simply can't justify that kind of cost on windows and feel the return on investment doesn't make any sense, so we talked to Universal Windows. Their windows are vinyl and therefore cheaper and a lot more manageable. At the end, the cost was about 1/2 of the other company and we are happy with the quality and installation. Their windows are beautiful and easy to operate. Granted they are new and time will tell, but so far so good.

For something so time-sensitive, that kind of delay is unacceptable. On top of that, after all the waiting, we were then told that our windows do not qualify for the rebate that was discussed earlier in the process. This was extremely disappointing and feels misleading, as this information should have been clearly communicated upfront before we moved forward. The lack of timely service and clear communication made this a stressful experience. I would strongly recommend that others get everything in writing and confirmed before committing, as this process did not go as promised.

We hired Tratt to demo and design build a new detached garage. We started working with them in May…read more2023. We finalized plans by August and agreed to a final cost proposal in September including an estimated 2-3 month project timeline. At first, they provided okay communication, a bit slow at getting back to us but we figured they were busy. The demo began in September 2023 and was completed by early October. Concrete began a couple weeks later and finished in October 2023. Framing in November then roofing and rough electrical by late December 2023. In January, communication broke down. Calls and texts went unreturned while we waited to hear when siding and gutters might come. Near the end of January to our surprise the owner of the concrete company showed up at our door informing us that he had not been paid for the work that occurred back in October and that he would put a lien on the property. We informed him that we paid Tratt on time for each invoice. We finally got in touch with Tratt and inquired about the concrete. They claimed they were disputing their invoice. At this point, we had been waiting a long time for the siding and gutters. Our expectation was the same company would do both but according to tratt no one was getting back to them. In February they opted to do the siding themself. The siding on the back of the garage was misaligned significantly (1" or more). When we pointed this out and asked to correct it they got defensive. They claimed correcting it would mean a portion would no longer be to code and so they would charge for the time. They did eventually fix it but made a mess while doing so. We had to pick up the trim nails left behind all over. Around the same time we received the Notice of Claim of Mechanic's Lien from the concrete company. Then a mere 10 days later, we received another (!!!) Notice of Mechanic's Lien from the truss company. We asked Tratt why they had not been paid, and they continued to feed us more excuses. They claimed they didn't show up to the meeting location to pay the invoice in November and that their bank account was hacked so they couldn't accept a check. Tratt said they will be paid. We called the truss company a couple weeks later to see what was going on and they said that they have not been able to get a hold of Tratt, that they still had not been paid, and that the story of them not being at the agreed location to collect payment was not true. Over the next 2 months Tratt was nearly impossible to get a hold of. We called, sent numerous emails, and texts asking for a clear schedule for completion, lien waivers on completed work, and a listing of the subs. Tratt never provided any of these things. Wanting to make any progress we could we went ahead and called in the framing inspection that Tratt neglected to do in December and the inspection failed with several issues that needed fixing. Shortly after, we were included in a lawsuit against Tratt because of the nonpayment to the concrete company. At this point (April 2024), our lawyer sent a demand letter to Tratt, asking how they plan to correct and finish the garage. The garage was now 4 months behind schedule. Tratt ultimately abandoned the job having never responded. In June, we hired a new contractor to correct the defects and finish the job. Such a big difference! We were treated with professionalism and honesty, a far cry from our experience with Tratt. We were dismissed from the lawsuit in September, but not before receiving one final parting gift from tratt-- another (!!!) Notice of Claim for Mechanic's Lien, this time from the electrician. To their credit we messaged them and explained the situation and they did not end up filing a lien. The case we were dismissed from concluded October 9, 2024. Tratt never showed up. The judge issued default judgment against Tratt.

The work done by Tratt CS was all quality. The pricing was fair. However, the communication was a…read morenightmare. Texts and calls would frequently go unanswered--until we threatened to fire them. Shouldn't take threats to get basic communication.

Immediately they consultant over the phone, got an attitude and aggressive stating that a lot of reviews are fake and hung up on me. This is a huge red flag. If you're going to hang up on me because I'm concerned about your reviews and tell me that the explanation is because they are fake I do not want to do business with you.
