I think that is the best way to see it. There was a TikTok couple hogging the best picture spot of the falls and a large group making a lot of noise at the upper falls. Would have been a bit nicer but we were at the time of day when the afternoon folks are out hiking, so a bit of our fault. But this is a don't miss falls hike near Asheville!

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING! The kids playground was small and there was trash everywhere! Nail clippers, drink cups, candy wrappers, etc. we went during the week- on a Thursday. I don't know if it was left the night before or the week before, but the clean up efforts here seem nonexistent. The walking trail was a little paved path with broken spots along it. It definitely was not worth the trip. If you're local, maybe this is one of the few options but it's very dismal.

Best of all it's free to the public. It has fields, colorful playground equipment and tennis courts. Next to it is also a splash pad. There are several areas to get out of the sun and cooking areas. I think the Kiwanis and Zahra Baker parks are named for the adjoins areas of the park.

So we all went and at first glance looks like a lot of fun however the toddler area looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. It's almost like everything was donated after years of use. And the playhouse they had was a nice idea with lots of food toys in it to play pretend with. However the it's too dark in there. They need to add some sort of light because it's almost scary looking the difference between the bright play place and the dark house. the big play area for the older kids was fine. My older kids had fun going through the obstacle courses and sliding down the big slides . And it's probably too late for this change but who thought of putting swings right in the middle of a play place ?!! Anytime you see a play ground the swings are always off to the side for good reason. I had to save my one year old from getting hit by another swing while I was strapping my two year old into one of the swings. You should never put two swings right in front of each other they are always in a row for a reason. So I won't be bringing my kids back

What a gorgeous park, even in the winter time…read more Since it's winter when I visited, I can't review all of the incredible summer time water sports but I know this park can get busy then. Winter was in incredible time to visit, easy parking, a chance to chat with the staff at the visitor center, and walk around. The lake is beautiful. I've heard that this area did get some hurricane/ storm damage but everything needed to drive around is up and running! Make a plan to visit next time you're nearby. It's about 1 hour drive from downtown Asheville.

This park had an impressive visitor center and restrooms were open even after it closed, though neighboring water fountains were not functioning on a hot summer day. The trail I selected was rugged and had occasional waterside views, most notably on a footbridge that offered a mountain vista. Cell service was not great for me, and while I'd hoped to do a zoom meeting on the run I had to return to more urban areas. But if you actually want to get unplugged, the people on boats here appeared to be having a good time.

Brand new awesome park!…read more Hanna Park is an 85 acre multi-use park. The land was donated to the city who hired a professional park development contractor. They really did a fantastic job. Features: 5 Soccer Fields + 1 Youth Practice Field 6 Picnic Shelters (can be rented) + Picnic Pavilion Playgrounds for different age groups with umbrellas Nature Trails/Running Trails Restrooms and Concessions Once all the COVID craziness dies down I'm sure this place will be packed. Very happy to see such a worth while project come to fruition! Very clean and well laid out!

This little community center seems to have a lot to offer: - The playground is a lot of fun- both our kids, ages 4 & 7, loved it! A well-kept wooden playground with swings (3 regular & 1 baby swing), a seesaw, a tire swing, and a big plastic sea monster for climbing. - Short paved walking loop with some benches, picnic tables and grill, and 1 of those little exercise stops and a creek flowing by (great for kids to splash around in!) - Large grassy field - Basketball court (half court) - Community garden - Large picnic table area with covered pavilion - Leashed dogs allowed (please pick up after them - there are poop bags along the sidewalk) The community center appears to be closed right now and I haven't checked out the website yet but there's a board with some info by the playground. It seems like they offer yoga classes (Free maybe? Says "donations accepted"), there's an ad for reiki healing, and a whole calendar of events for children and adults. This center definitely seems to run on donations and volunteers. We were happy to contribute to the painted metal donation post by the playground. Peaceful, safe, beautiful park areas like this are hard to find these days. We're passing through, as we're just frequent vacationers to the area, but I hope the community keeps up this little local gem!
