Ever since I got a place here I've been going to this ace. They are helpful but the difference is they actually care. You're in and out fast. I needed a key FOB battery and I had heard that Ace Hardware had them. TJ, the supervisor jumped right in and not only showed me where I could find them in the store but replaced it for me within minutes. Something that I had been procrastinating about was resolved in minutes. Have always received great service in this store. I will always choose this smaller store compared to the big box stores. Absolutely the rudest staff here. Not all. Just the female employees. One actually glares at customers. No greeting, no "May I help you," nothing. The older, heavy set, woman with gapped teeth to be specific. She really is unpleasant. If you're that unhappy, quit. Seriously. It would make the place so much better. I try not to go to the big stores and support our local small businesses. But, when you have employees like this and I'm on the north side, I'd rather go to HD or Lowes. If you're mid-town or even on the south side, go to Havasu Hardware. Really. At least they have manners. read more

On a trip to Lake Havasu City, we disconnected our "toad" & realized we had a problem. Dead battery & no jumper cables. Fortunately, a gentleman in the RV park helped us out. But, not wanting to get caught without again, we headed for a place to purchase some. Right off, that jingle started bouncing around in my noggin, "Ace is the place......" So we got out our GPS & found Crown Ace. This store had a great selection of items & great service. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted & asked "How can I help you?" I like that, no wondering around lost, looking for what I need. Once I got in the correct aisle, another gentleman was there & again pointed me in the right direction. In & out! We come to Havasu for the annual Winterfest. I know what hardware store I prefer, while we're here. Ace IS the place! read more

I came in for a BBQ propane tank and was directed towards the middle of the store. After circling around a few times, I double checked with a couple employees. They directed me towards the front corner of the store. Being a bit naive with BBQs (I've lived in a condo for 20 years), I grabbed the 5 lb size. Heading back to replace it with a 20 lb, assuming location #2 was still correct, one of the previous employees asked me what I was doing. I told him that I was on my way back to get a bigger one, but that we also needed a snake for a clogged drain. That's when I found out that the BBQ propane tanks were out front, location #3. As my wife and I were eyeballing the snakes in plumbing, I noticed this employee bolding staring at us from 10 yards away, on the other side of the center isle, and didn't flinch as we walked by him. I called the next day to talk to the store manager, Mike, to see if this matched their customer service policies. The initial response was (paraphrasing), "Yes, of course he should watch you, just in case you need more help. You probably confused him by saying you wanted one thing, and then switched it to another. It sounds like you didn't want help anyways, so what else was he supposed to do?" This was all said with giggles. I will give this manager props for being open and straight forward. If his employees have the official ok to stare customers down when they're confused by a two-item shopping list, should I have stared his employees down, because I was confused? Apparently, there are higher expectations on customers than employees in this store, and for that I can't fault anyone who works there, the problem stems from the top. read more

This is the third time I went in to crown ace and been over charged. I understand close and easier than the big stores but 11.00 vs 4.00 or 2.49 vs 0.32 then the argumentative supervisor who has to be right when it was right on the screen I was charged 13.50 for a 10foot piece of 3/4 pvc went back and checked and they said no it said 1.50. Then I upset her when I put my little basket on the left instead of right of her register and my phone number if I don't want to give it up then don't ask me 3 times I'm done I rather drive to Lowe's or Homedepot and pay 50% less and deal with more people than to shop local. What unhappy lady's less make the customer feel like a idiot! What a moto! Just rude! I don't get it! read more

The store is so close that I admit I frequent it but I am sick of paying on average 30% more just for that convenience, it ads up. For exp. I just bought a flush valve seal, a 3.5' rubber ring, used to get 2 in a pack but now 1 plus the price was $3.59 @, at Lowes the same seal is $1.99 !!! I'm thru, I'll drive another mile read more

Pat was leaving from his shift and stayed on afterward to help me with fixing the correct plug on an extension cord I brought it. That's what I call service! He wouldn't even accept a tip! Horrible Horrible customer service was provided today by the dark haired heavy set woman - assistant manager possibly which makes this even worse. Seriously they couldn't exchange an item that cost $5 - that was new and clearly one of their own products that was defected. She told me "try the other store" So next time I will try the other store and that store will be Lowes! read more

Pat Treanor helped me today with rekeying door locks, purchasing a new lock and making a bunch of keys. He provided GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! He worked very quickly and was really friendly. He explained differences between the locks and showed me everything he was doing with the locks. I will always go back to this store FIRST, before I go to big box stores. i purchsed a out door heater on wednesday from your store off of kiowa and brought it home to quartzsite and put it together on thursday and had it almost done when i noticed the frame on the bottom was dented. when i bought i did noticed that all three of them on display had their outside boxes were all damaged. i along with your associate picked out the least damaged box and never gave it another thought. when i was back in town on thursday i stopped in your store to see how to rectify the situation about selling damaged goods. i spoke with the manager and all she could offer was for me to return it and get another new one i told that would not work as it was a christmas gift and time was short and i surely did not want to assemble another one coupled with the fact that i had no means to transport the damaged one in my mid size suv. she then stated that was my only option and it was store policy i was in auto industry for over 40 years and my customers meant more to me and my dealership than store policy. having said all this i informed her that i would never do business with your stores in the future. shr had no reply and i walked out. to spen $169 for damaged goods is unacceptable. regards mike coombe 602.399.1159 read more

Don't order on line from Ace. I ordered a timer for my hot water heater to replace the one that broke. It didn't work out so I tried to return it to the Ace Hardware Store on Kiowa Ave in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They refused to take it. I first spoke with a young lady, then the manager an older woman with one eye open and the other one 1/2 closed. Even when I told her that it stated on my reciept that I could return it to any Ace Hardware Store and I also let her kmow that I had called Ace main office and they also confirmed this, she still refused and wouldnt except it. Don't buy from Ace... now I get to drive to a long distant to other Ace store or send it back and pay postage to return it. Next time I order from Lowes or Homedepo or Walmart, any where but Ace... read more
