Wow, the first time I tried this place was from work catered lunch. I was surprised how flavorful the fried chicken was. I asked my coworker who got the catered lunch where the chicken is from. For my son's birthday party, I decided to get a bunch (60) of fried chicken (mixed). All our guests enjoyed it very much. I thought maybe it'll take a long time for them to make a big order but it only took them couple or house. The owner or maybe staff ? Was so sweet. He told me it's much cheaper to order directly with them versus on the website Google provided. It's a small establishment but the different variety of food they provide is impressive. I'm from Philadelphia and in the area helping my buddy who was recently hurt on the job, with some errands, cleaning, etc. While passing this establishment its 15 minutes until close. I realized I haven't ate all that much throughout the day, and it was empty, so I decided to give it go despite the fact I typically avoid eating at "fast food" establishments with the rare exceptions once in a blue moon. As I browsed the menu, and ordered a basic 3 piece wing and beef patty, a local man walked in and it was clear he is a regular in there, due to the chit chat and laughter exchange between him and the owner who was the man behind the counter. As my box was being prepared and handed over to me, The patron asked if he could have some left over bread because he was hungry but short on cash tonight". Boss man says "no!!" local said "please man, ill bring money back tomorrow after I work the day." boss man replies "no, we don't give bread or give food to people with no money" and I said excuse me?! what's my change? ($1.27) as he handed it to me and I said "you guys are closings and throwing out all that left over food, right?, what can we get this guy with the $1.27 before you toss it out back in the dumpster?" and his response was "nothing". I'm standing there in disbelief and well, Philly in me came out fastasfukboy and i asked "how much for that single left over beef patty" "$3.00" in disgust I look in my "hardly carry cash" wallet I opened a little fold and there were two single one dollar bills tucked down in the fold. As i throw down on the on the counter and order the the patty " stating "i know you have a business to run but at the ass end of the night and over stock of cooked food I can't fking believe you can't throw my man a bone and look out this one time, the sh*t is disturbing that you rather feed the fking cats out back yet you can't slide this guy a drumstick first, it makes me sick." and boss man stared talkin his sh*t back in but in his language. and And i walk out. Local man was so grateful to the point he cried and thanked me asking how he could repay me and I simply said if in rare chance you see me in these streets again, you can buy me a sammy or something from another spot because i will never step foot near this place again, I'm so disgusted over what happened and im sorry people are so heartless,"- as he walks behind me as i go get in my car I look back and smiled and handed him my bag of food he said "no please no you eat and im strong on no justice no peace and wont eat it because of how sh*t played out in there, forget about me and what happened in there tonight- just one day pay it forward to the next, back to Philly I must go!! have a good night and be safe, bud" read more

Rarely review takeout spots like this, but had a good experience today that I wanted to write about. My dad is in a nursing home after a stroke, and circumstances stopped us from having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We found this place that was open but had never been to a Crown Fried Chicken, although it was a familiar name. Wanting to emulate a bit of a Thanksgiving feast as a treat, we got some chicken and sides and had a nice meal with our father. The chicken was juicy and fresh, and the Mac & Cheese and fries were tasty and not too salty. We would love to come back and try out some of the Halal food next time. This was always a fave when we needed something quick for dinner. Turnover is pretty good so the chicken is usually fresh. If they're frying you might wait a while but it's worth it! Staff is friendly although i could do w.o the sweat soaked/stained tshirts....otherwise they're quick and get you what you want. This is not a sit in location, you take it to go. The owner is extremely sweet, kind and soft spoken. Although I only visit 2-3 times out of the year I don't have anything negative to say about the establishment. Last week I went in to originally purchase 1 leg and 1 thigh and the cook talked me into trying one of their specials; grilled chicken (two types of sauces on top) over rice with fresh salad for $5! I was surprised when I took my first bite when I got home. I would have devoured the entire container (that he filled to capacity) but I got full. lol! I will attach a picture but I urge you to try this chicken special. It's worth the 5-7 minute wait, healthier than the fried chicken and it made to order so you it is really fresh. read more

Nothing more romantic than your date telling you to sit in a locked car while he orders fried chicken through a glass window late at night. Yet, the chicken was freshly made, hot and crispy . The chicken was not bad. I have had better. I was referred to this place by an associate. I think they should hire someone who speaks better English to answer the phone and handle the register. It would help to put some menus on the counter for customers to take home when you get there. I think KFC is better but this will give you what you need and it's closer. The guy taking my order hit me up for more money than the price on the menu. I called 15-minutes in advance and when I got there, he seemed to have no clue of my order. The level of service that I get there is akin to places much more expensive. Try going anywhere else and getting a FRESHLY MADE double cheeseburger with pretty much anything you could ask for, like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, etc, WITH fries, for $4.00. I was in there recently early in the morning to order one of their new menu items, the grilled chicken wrap. For $4.50, you get a wrap that is seasoned chicken with peppers, onions and cheese and roughly the size of a Qdoba burrito. Unlike that Qdoba burrito full of rice with very little meat, this thing has no cheap filler. The store is no more glamorous than a Chinese takeout place. However, it's clean enough. The guy behind the counter is rather friendly. The chicken is very well seasoned and the breast is exceptionally moist compared other fried chicken I had around the neighborhood. I really want to give this place a 5 just because of the convenience an consistency of the food. But I just can't first off back a few years ago when this place installed one table in the middle I walked out and left my wallet, needless to say when I walked back in, gone. So that leaves a fowl taste in my mouth, it was my stupidity but still... Secondly, what's good with the dinner rolls, they are trash, dry and break so easily. Chicken is what's up though and you can't beat the dollar ice cream in the summertime. All in all this is the best 3 star rated place I have ever reviewed. read more

I will 2nd another review and state that the owner is very kind and soft spoken. The chicken is very good. However, fried chicken deserves really good sides and the macaroni salad was pretty bland and the mashed potatoes looked like they had been sitting there for a few days and I had to spit out the one bite I ate.
