We also got a couple drinks and were pleasantly surprised when they brought out some munchies (spicy Cheetos and chips) on the house, that small touch alone makes it feel so homely and warm, and makes me want to come back. My wife, seven-year-old daughter, and I went here for Father's Day lunch. We wanted an unpretentious meal--one that would brighten up our taste buds without lightening our wallets measurably--and the idea of going to Soko Bag, a place that had been recommended to both me and my wife by friends of ours, took hold. So that is how the three of us found ourselves there on Sunday, June 21, 2026. And I am glad we went there. It was the kind of place that somehow satisfied all three of us equally. We went with the Seoul Train, which is two half-pound chicken portions along with three sauces. Given the variation in heat tolerance, we went with three sauces that would satisfy me--someone who likes spicy food--as well as our kid, who does not do that great with the heat. And the food hit the mark for all three of us. What's noteworthy is that after splitting the two half-pound portions (and some coleslaw), we did not feel stuffed. So we decided to go with yet another half-pound portion, and finally at the end of it all, we were completely satisfied--our tummies full and our hearts singing. In terms of service, this is not a fancy place, so if you are looking to impress someone with white table linen, this is surely not the place. That said, the folks are helpful and polite. We ran into the owner of the restaurant toward the end of our meal and found him clearing tables. We chatted with him a bit and he made the joke all of us do: it is really his wife's place and he is just doing her bidding as is required of all husbands. The final endorsement probably comes from the fact that nearly six weeks later, as we were driving past the restaurant, my daughter who was in the back seat let out a "Mmmm! Soko Bag." Prompt service, huge portions (don't come expecting chicken nuggets!) loved the gochujang and wasabi sauce but not so much for the buffalo sauce. My husband and I just stopped for lunch at an unassuming little Korean fried chicken restaurant called Soko Bag in Phoenixville, PA .. completely by chance, and boy are we glad we did! He had the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich with Ghost Pepper BBQ seasoning (ghost pepper, orange cheddar, and scorpion bbq mixture) and his exact words were "this is hands-down "The" best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had in my entire life!" (and he's retired ) The piece of chicken was huge, the batter light and crispy, the seasoning was spicy (but just the right amount) and the cheddar, pickles and aioli sauce toppings were delicious! I had the 1/2 lb. Chicken with white cheddar (snow) seasoning.. which is a coating of white cheddar powder covering the chicken. It was delicious, light flaky and super flavorful. There's also a great selection of savory dipping sauces to choose from. We may have discovered this fried chicken gem by accident, but we'll definitely be coming back on purpose! Been to Soko bag on three occasions when visiting family. This place is freaking GREAT! The options of chicken flavors and sauces makes the experience different every time. They had a ghost pepper coating on this visit that was absolutely delicious. Paired that with the wasabi ranch sauce, unbeatable. The chicken is always incredibly hot and tender with a crispy coating and a good selection of drafts and canned cocktails. We will definitely be back. If you're anywhere near Phoenixville (or even if you're not), Soko Bag is a must visit. Their fried chicken is next level. I'm not typically a dark meat kinda girl, but I'm addicted to the Seoul Train. The OG fried chicken comes three ways - bamboo salt, white cheddar (snow), and ghost cheddar bbq. I can vouch that all three are delicious, though my American born and bred arteries love the concept of WHITE CHEDDAR coated chicken. You truly can't go wrong. If you're more of a traditionalist, they do offer bone-in wings. They also have a variety of fun specials including the KO'boy, Korean Italian Hoagie, and loaded fries. The chicken is tasty on it's own, but the sauces bring it to the next level. They're always testing new things in the kitchen, so I highly recommend following their Instagram. They have cocktails and house beers that they brew offsite, in addition to a fun rotation of bar snacks, soft drinks, and desserts. Every visit to Soko Bag is unique. Not to mention, I love that they are big Philly sports fans. This is one of the only bars dedicated to showing Philadelphia Union games, which makes me a repeat customer. Parking: small lot in front, lots of side street parking - just pay attention to signs. It might be tricky to visit if mobility is a consideration. There is a small step up to the main dining area, but there are few bar seats in the entrance. Ordering at the counter can get crowded during peak times, but I've never found the wait for the food to be unreasonable. Of course, you can always order ahead if you wish. I went here with my work team after a show and it was the best meal I had all week on my first trip to Valley Forge. The fried chicken and side of egg rolls was to die for. The service is fantastic too. The staff is friendly and really knows their stuff. They're always ready to help you choose or suggest something if you're not sure what to get. Now that I have finally dined in it's time for a review. As mentioned in other reviews the parking lot is super small, but you can find street parking within walking distance. Previous takeout earlier this year consisted of their super spicy ghost pepper and white cheddar Korean chicken so yesterday we went with the bamboo salt and five spice sesame. For sauces, we had the jalapeño ranch, kimchi aïoli and standard blue cheese. Loved the heat on the jalapeño ranch. They have a decent selection of their own craft beers, and some creative cocktails. I enjoyed a Vanilla Porter that was super tasty. My wife had a hazy IPA and she liked it very much. It sounds like they do small batches brewed in the basement and then brew on a larger scale at a brewery not too far away. I was surprised to see they had cans for sale in a decent size cooler, but I didn't take advantage. The place gets busy during the typical rush hours and during any local sporting event. They have a good number of tables, but we sat at the bar. The folks working there are friendly and take good care of you so you can be in and out or fairly quick or eat/drink at your own pace and a great addition to the area. The snow chicken was good too, I just preferred the bamboo salt. I tried it with their Buffalo sauce and the Gochujang sauce. Both were a nice addition. I also tried their crumb cake. It was great! With all the rave reviews I wanted to try this out for a while and had high expectations. But was disappointed. Its a nice place with a small selection of beer. We didn't try much but their house cider was nice. We got the Seoul train with regular bamboo salt and ghost pepper cheddar. The wings were not as crispy and were actually chewy at several spots. The Ghost Cheddar was not eatable the way it was served. It contains sprinkled seasoning which is pretty good but spicy and it felt that the chef actually poured the whole container in ours. It was super hot and spicy and could not eat without shaking off the excess seasoning. I would not eat it again. Taste is all from the dipping sauces. The Gochujang and Habanero Ranch were great while the cucumber wasabi was just mild wasabi, didn't like it much. Overall I would not recommend it for the price. read more

We came to soko on a Wednesday night. Wasn't crowded at all. Got served super super fast. Chicken was made already ready to serve - if you go during a quieter time it is made fresh to order. Like another reviewer said it's a bunch of random meat (random light and dark meat clusters) fried. This is true. I don't think I've ever seen dark meat fried. I don't mind dark meat but it was kind of odd to me and didn't taste as good. Wasn't the best tbh - but my fiance loved it. It's good fried chicken definitely good quality. I was disappointed that they weren't taking phone or online orders. My experience with KFC is a 20 minute wait due to the double fry. Here it was 10 min. Got the 1/2 #, sauce was $2 extra. Seemed light but weighed 8.3 ounces. I assumed it would be wings. It was random chunks of white and dark meat. The coating more similar to Popeyes, not the super crispy tempura batter I'm used to. I ordered the food to take out on a Sunday night, the place still have decent amount of customer so you can tell many people are supporting this new place. Food didn't take long maybe about 10min for my order, you can smell the chicken and it did smell good. One thing you might want to know is that all the chicken are dark meat so if you are looking for white meat this isn't it, maybe they will have the option later.
