My dad was raised Catholic but converted to Baptist when he married my mother. so when I buried him here I had to get permission from his family(weird) and some other authorities! This makes about 3/4 of the place less interesting, however, you will be kept intrigued by searching out and visiting graves of many prominent Dallisites. Ross Perot legendary businessman, Lamar Hunt former owner/founder of the Kansas City Chiefs, Eugene McDermott, founder of Texas Instruments, Tom Landry, former longterm coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Don Carter former own Dallas Mavericks, on and on, etc etc. Have fun!

One is that it is surrounded by industrial buildings and tends to be too noisy for a quiet visitation. You will hear loud aircraft fly overhead due to the proximity to the Dallas Love Field airport. The other is that some burial plots are hard to access in a wheelchair, due to lack of sidewalks to drive over. You cannot visit a site here after a rain if you want to avoid walking or wheeling on wet or dirty grass. This is an ADA accommondation which needs to be addressed by the grounds people and supervisors. I would have ranked higher but for this last concern.

My favorite grave is of a man named Slaughter. Check out the Texas historical marker photo and picture of his granite tomb. There is a multi-generational family of grey foxes living here in the shadow of downtown that's a pleasant surprise every time I stop in.

She took care of requesting the military flag presentation service, catering arrangements, flower arrangements, ordering death certificates, cremation arrangements, and a whole list of other items. We decided to use a large photo instead of displaying an urn during the service, and Becca was able to locate and let us borrow the perfect picture stand. It was really nice to know that someone else was thinking of all the small details during a time of grief when it was difficult for my family to focus on event planning. Their website's online obituary (aka Everlasting Memorial) allows you to upload photos of your loved one that recently passed away. Those photos are then used to create a slide show that can be played during the funeral service. The slide show comes with somber default music, but you can also provide your own music specific to your loved one. My family received multiple compliments on the quality of the slide show. You can also request additional DVDs of the slide show (potential fee), and a custom sticker will be added to the face of the DVD with your loved one's picture on it. The facility is very clean and welcoming, and my family was very impressed with the services they provided. They are also very community-focused. Becca explained that if there was food leftover from the reception that the family didn't want to take home, then she would bring the leftovers to a nearby fire station. If there were any flowers that the family didn't take home, then they would bring the flowers to a nearby hospice or hospital to brighten their day.
