My mom and I are in a very vulnerable state right now due to the passing of my father. Myiesha made us feel welcomed and was very personable. They did a wonderful job and made sure to always keep us updated and encouraged us to contact them if we had any issues or wanted to update anything. The pricing seemed pretty reasonable to us and they never pressured us to look into the really expensive stuff. The room for the actual service was not very large, they have chairs instead of pews, we did have to order some chairs to sit more people and they put a sash around them to make them look nice. I wasn't going to write this review, but after what was said to me today, I have to state what happened to me publicly. ... When I asked Christie K. Moore what would you want to happen if you were in my place, Christie told me. MY MOM IS ALIVE, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW I WOULD FEEL. If that is not the rudest, most hateful thing you can tell a person who just lost their mom. This is supposed to be a colleague of mine. I would never ever say anything so hurtful to anyone in my life. I met Christie K. Moore at a professional training. When my mother passed on 03/31/23 I contacted her to help with the arrangements. I met with Myeshia and paid $12,0018 for the arrangements, travel to Tulsa, and the burial plot. When we go to the graveside gazebo, my mom was already there waiting on us. After the celebration, they put my mom in a white van that had trash inside. They drove her to her final resting place and pull her out of the back of a white van with trash on the inside of it. Every funeral I have attended had a hearse, but my mom was pulled out of a white van with trash. At no time was I told the service car would be a van. I spoke with the man who came from Texas and said, why wasn't my mom in a hearse, why you pulled her out of a van? This is terrible. He said, "I am sorry, if you wanted a hearse, I could have gotten you one." Why wouldn't I want a hearse, it's a funeral. They were not packing meat across state lines. I then sent Christie a message about my embarrassment and heartbreak the same day of the funeral. She responds we can talk, so on today, we talked. I told her how I felt and that I couldn't sleep because it was so disrespectful for my mom to be in the back of a dirty van. I also stated Tulsa was my mom's hometown and I was so embarrassed. I told her, I can only bury my mom once, we can't redo this and I feel very embarrassed because this is a funeral and we did not expect nor were we told that she would be in a van. She again said I am sorry, we believe in excellence, etc. At no time, did she offer any refund or anything, just an apology. When I asked what would you want to happen if you were in my place. I cannot express how wonderful my family's experience has been at the Mansfield Funeral Home. The staff was incredible and so accommodative. My dad passed away Friday and we met with Christie on Saturday and she was able to make the funeral service happen the next day. Christie was quick, informative, helpful, empathetic, and so much more. My mom contacted many funeral homes and did not feel comfortable nor welcomed. Many of them were very expensive and required up front payment. Mansfield Funeral Home was the exact opposite. They were understanding and know that this is a hard time time for families to go through and were so patient and kind. The facility itself is very clean and homey. The service itself was held in a small room, but it was perfect because it was intimate and personal. My dad looked great and well groomed. This was my first experience arranging a funeral service and I wanted it to be perfect for my dad. This exceeded my expectations and many more. I highly highly recommend this place. I set up my mother's pre-need funeral with Mansfield Funeral Home a few years back and had pretty much forgotten a lot of the details. Boy, am I glad we did it when we did! Most of the things I needed to do were already lined out, including what music to play, what message to deliver during ceremonies, where the burial would take place, and all the minutia that surround the death of a loved one. There were still a lot of things to do but thank God we had the caring staff of the Mansfield Funeral Home to walk us through these rough times. Christie and Shelia were at the helm of the team taking care of us but my newfound friend, Rod Smith, our funeral director just blew us away with his ability to connect with us and to fully grasp what it was my mother wanted from her ceremony. Rod Smith was always one step ahead of me, anticipating my needs, questions and concerns and making sure I had all the support I could ever have asked for, and then some, during this most trying of times. In fact, my sister and I connected so strongly with Rod that we asked him to perform our mother's burial ceremony. Rod agreed to do it and he absolutely nailed it, delivering the message my mother wanted and comforting me and my family the whole time. I simply cannot begin to express the appreciation my family has for the way we were treated by these people when my Grandfather passed away! The were incredibly empathetic and sympathetic and went above and beyond our expectations. I am so thankful I found them! From the first point of contact to after the burial, the were incredible to my family. My nephew was having a really difficult time with Grampa's death (we all were, but JT was having a really, really rough time with it all), and Daryle, the Funeral Director, took the time to talk to JT and to listen to him. He really went out of his way to show he cared about what my family was going through. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY. Christie and everyone at Mansfield Funeral Home made the funeral planning process for me and my family very easy while delivering extraordinary care and attention to detail. Everything from before the funeral service, during and after. If we had any questions, they were only a quick phone call away and responded immediately. This was the first death we had in our family so there were a lot of uncertainties and questions we had and not once did we ever feel like we were bothering them. If I could do a higher rating I would. My husband passed away pretty unexpectedly in April. We went to this funeral home since it was in Mansfield. We could not have been treated better. They were extremely helpful and gave us suggestions and just met our every need. The facility is beautiful, not the old "funeral home" feeling at all. We had his service in the garden area, which is amazing. They did his DVD which was perfect, as was the program for the service and the guest book. I had never seen a program or guest book so beautiful. I just can't say enough about the owner, Christie, and her staff. She even checked on me a week or so after the funeral to see how I was doing. read more
