I have visited quite a number of baklava pastry places in Toronto and Montréal to test them out. This is unquestionably one of the finest middle eastern bakeries I have ever visited. Good quality and freshness. Simply top-notch! Sarah works behind the counter and she is very nice and friendly. Not just showing me different baklava flavors but also giving me sample pieces to try. Excellent customer service! Love this place. Aside from the artisanal baklava, they also have signature dessert choices, including: - Sweet cheese with semolina and rose petal jam (wow!) - Crunchy toasted kataifi with ashta & syrup - Toasted kunafa with mixed nuts and milk - Soft buttery semolina with pistachios - Awesome stringy cheese with kunafa in a bun! Simply irresistible. LOL. Take a look at my photos, you will get the idea instantly. At the end of the day, no one should take too much sweet treat all at once. Instead, it's such a nice feeling to bring back baklava and share many with friends, families, and loved ones. Share your love! Such a beautiful baklava place. An absolutely delightful experience. No wonder they call themselves Crown Pastries! Four convenient locations. See more details and their story at https://www.crownpastries.com/,

LOVE getting my baklava and kunafa fix from here! Honest business with consistently great quality, fresh, and beautifully presented middle-eastern desserts. One of my favourite spots to pick up treats for friends. My favourite is their Ish Al Asfour "Bird's nest", Barma pistachio rolls (out of the world!), and Walnut baklava. I've also dined in and had their CROWN PLATE with their assortment of treats with tea. Highly recommend doing this!! I loved that Maamoul Madd with pistachios and I also indulged in their goey cheesy kunafa! The staff is really great with packing up the take-out orders and is generous with giving samples for you to try if you weren't sure about a certain one.

This was our first time here in Crown Pastries and must mention that it was our first time trying out Kunafa as well. I have had variations in baklava but not Kunafa. It is a unique acquired taste and I am glad I tried it, as I loved it. For the taste it was similar to a couple of South Indian sweets so was well the love for me. The place was so clean and the person working there helped me learn how to eat my Kunafa as it was given with a tiny sugar syrup box. I will visit here again for all the middle Eastern sweet needs

Was visiting from California went in today to buy four Dubai chocolate bars for gifts person at the cash extremely Agro, super rude, suffice it to say never going back again. If I didn't promise these chocolates to people, I would've just left them. It's unfortunate when businesses are ruined by the people that work there -- hard pass for me.

Crown Pastries is one of the best places to buy Baklavas in town. They have a great selection of flavours and sizes to choose from, and their prices are very reasonable. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they make sure that each order is perfect before it leaves the store. I highly recommend Crown Pastries to anyone looking for a great Baklava!

My two students and I had lunch at Nando's today. One of them had left a bit earlier for another commitment. My other student and I left the restaurant after we were done. I noticed Crown Pastries, a new bakery located in the same plaza. I asked her whether we could pop by. She said yes. There was a sign on the window that said that it offers Cheesecake Factory products. It was ironic that all three of us had just talked about cheesecake during lunch. I walked in and it felt like heaven. There were tons of Middle Eastern delicacies that immediately made me smile. I love kunafa and eyed something that looked like what I enjoy. Each honey item of yumminess made me smile. We walked some more and saw various cookies. Yum! We finally got to the Cheesecake Factory items. You can choose from at least eight different flavours of cheesecake. There were also vanilla bean and red velvet cupcakes. I got a pack of four of the latter for $12. Folks at this bakery are incredibly friendly. The woman helping me with my order offered a free sample of kunafa to both of us. One acronym: OMG! It was delicious. It was crunchy, creamy, rich, and buttery. I will need to come back to get kunafa. Yum! (352)

My boyfriend really liked the original location, so we came up to Toronto and checked out the Mississauga location. The interior was very clean, and it had a welcoming vibe. The desserts were out on display, so you can see which ones were available along with the name and price. We were greeted by a very nice guy at the counter, who asked if we've been here before. I haven't, so he offered to let me try some of the pastries. He gave us his suggestions, and I tried 5 samples of pastries or so (very sweet). After that, I just got a bit of everything to try on the spot. I ate a bit too much and was sweetened out! But overall, I really like the sweet crispy texture, and the nuts are very crunchy and flavorful. We got some more pastries to bring home, and I had my family try the pastries back home. They really liked it, but my mom did comment that it was a bit too sweet. It's something to keep in mind if you don't like really sweet dessert. I do like the pastries a lot, but I think it's a bit too sweet for my taste. I prefer less sweetness overall, but this is good to eat if you only eat one piece at a time occasionally. My personal favorite is the birds nest one - definitely try it!

5* considering I felt at ease asking the girl behind the counter about all the pieces that I was interested in. In comparison to their competitors, the customer service here is much, MUCH better. I was even offered a sample piece which was probably the best in the mix that I got! I can't remember the name, but it had some kinda cheese/cream on the inside. Pieces weren't too buttery or too syrupy sweet! All tasted pretty fresh. Aside from the cheese/cream one, I liked the philo and vermicelli pieces the best. I got a mix of 10 different pieces and it was approx. $13 + change. So not that bad. Looks really impressive if you're going over to someone's house for dinner! Will definitely visit again, maybe even as a dine-in for dessert!

Love this place. This middle eastern bakery is the 2nd branch of the original in Scarborough, started by brothers from Aleppo, Syria. I've been here 4x and tried half of the pastries, and everything they make is of the highest quality, real butter, lots of nuts, fragrant, fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The guys behind the counter are always so nice, offering samples of anything you want to try (can get full off samples, beware lol) and it's just a beautiful display of pastries and nice place to sit down and have tea and some sweets! If you haven't visited here yet you need to, you haven't tasted real baclava until you've had it here, and there are so many other amazing desserts to try.

We walked in and I was immediately impressed by how vast and spotless the place was. This is one enormous place. There's a ton of seating in the main area, and if that's not enough, there's a whole other seating area around the corner. Everything looked really tasty but we decided to try a couple of savory pastries, both of which were delicious and fresh. For my drink, I went with the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew ("Cold brew coffee with vanilla and topped with sweet cream"), which certainly quenched my thirst and need for a pick-me-up. I want to single out the staff, too. Everybody was super friendly and helpful, and the manager even stopped by our table and offered our daughter a complimentary bear-shaped madeleine. Paris Baguette is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. We'll definitely be returning.

They have deli sandwiches in their fridge and the Harvest Chicken sandwich was delicious. The Mochi donuts are a good atyempt and mimicing their asian counterparts but was way too greasy. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable from start to finish…read more I ordered a custom cake for my bridal shower using a design directly from this vendor's own website and clearly communicated both the design details and flavors in writing. What I received looked nothing like what was agreed upon. The color palette was completely off (including dark purple tones instead of the requested light pink), key design elements like gold detailing were missing, and the cake was made in only one flavor despite explicitly requesting two separate tiers with different flavors. Communication on the day of the event was nonexistent, and when I raised concerns, I was interrupted repeatedly and treated dismissively. I had to ask multiple times just to finish speaking. I was told the cake could be "fixed," but at no point was I informed that this would come with an additional charge. The so-called "fix" resulted in little to no actual improvement to the cake itself. Despite this, I was later sent an invoice and, more concerningly, a message threatening legal action if I did not pay. Let that sink in: I was asked to pay extra money to correct a mistake made by the vendor - and was threatened with legal action when I questioned it. I ultimately paid the fee to avoid the hassle of dealing with baseless legal threats, not because the charge was justified. Between the failure to deliver the agreed-upon product, poor communication, lack of professionalism, and the use of intimidation tactics, this was one of the most disappointing vendor experiences I've had - especially for an important event like a bridal shower. I strongly recommend working with a different vendor who values accountability, transparency, and basic professionalism.

I was in the area for a Yelp Elite Experience and decided to check out other local food places, since I rarely drive out to Mississauga. When I found Fruitilicious Cakes on the map, I knew I definitely needed to check this place out. Walking into the store, I was immediately captured by the dreamy cake atmosphere. Tiers of cakes were on display, little macaron decors, and a super cute place to lounge, it felt like a delightful place to meet with friends over a cup of tea and a dessert. Fruitilicious Cakes specializes in making custom cakes and wedding cakes, and I could tell from the details of the cakes on display that their cakes are a definite showstopper. While I didn't have an occasion to buy a whole cake, I was told to have to try the peach earl grey tea cupcake. With one bite, I was absolutely blown away. I haven't experienced many cupcakes that do a good job at capturing the earl grey tea flavour, but somehow, Fruitilicious Cakes, managed to land that earl grey tea favour just right and the fragrant of the cupcake continued to linger in my mouth even an hour after devouring it. I was surprised to find that the cupcake had a sweet peach filling, as most cupcake places sell just the cake with a heaping scoop of icing. I love the amount of effort and care that Fruitilicious Cakes had behind the simple cupcake, which truly lives up to their slogan: Made with Passion. And here's the best part, the cupcake is only $3--what a steal! After discovering this hidden gem, I can't wait to come back and order my anniversary cake with them in the future! =) YUUUM!

Very solid 4* rating!…read more Not sure why it took me a decade to check this place out, after a recommendation from an older European lady had recommended this place to me. It's definitely a "hidden" gem, tucked around the corner from Kipling Stn, in a really industrial area. Think a bunch of auto body and other older looking, unkempt buildings with cars parked out in front. There's parking in front of the bakery café and you hafta climb up a flight of stairs to go in. Not really accessible for older or customers with disabilities. When I arrived, the chairs were already on top of the tables. And after checking the hours of operation, they're only opened 'til 5pm, including Saturdays. They sell whole and cakes, pastries, but the slice/piece. Prices aren't posted, but it was just under $10 for 2 pieces that I got. When I arrived, near closing, they had B1G1 free on their tiramisu, so I saw that as a sign. They were delicious and still tasted free, not too sweet! (I took a pic of their price list and it seems very reasonable!) Judging on what they offer and what I've read, they have Austrian/German roots. Lady who helped me could've been friendlier/enthusiastic, but again, it was the end of the day. So I'm not going to hold that against her. I'd definitely check it out again...but it would hafta be during the day/Saturday!
