It's been a long time since we visited Rahier, but we decided to stop by and purchase some treats for our anniversary. There were many pastries, cakes and cookies available, so it took a while to look at everything. We chose three croissants: raspberry, hazelnut/Nutella and almond; a pear tart; apple square; Dumas mini cake and Amelie Rose mini cake. The raspberry croissant was by far our favorite. It was flaky, with a chunky raspberry filling that was slightly tart. The almond croissant had very little almond paste and was disappointing. We were surprised the Nutella croissant lacked any flaky layers, tasted soft and bread-like, so it was our least favorite. Perhaps it was a bad batch or an off day. The apple square and pear tart were okay, but the custard Danish was quite good. The Dumas is a popular item, with dark chocolate mousse, combined with crispy nougatine and dacquoise. It was a decadent treat! While the Amelie Rose was beautifully decorated, it was in my opinion, average, and not worth the cost for just a few bites. It was also unfortunate that we had to purchase six pastries before they would provide a box. Otherwise, they use a paper bag. Note: street parking is available for a fee Almond Croissant - $3.45 Raspberry Croissant - $3.75 Nutella Croissant - $3.75 Apple Square- $3.25 Pear Tart - $6.25 Custard Danish - $3.25 Dumas Mini Cake - $7.50 Amelie Rose Mini Cake - $8.00

Received pastries from this pastry shop as a gift. I was pleasantly surprised! I loved everything I tried but especially the croissant. Flaky, fresh and buttery. Absolutely, delicious! I inhaled that treat. I loved the opera cake and tiramisu but the dessert that truly took me by surprise was the fresh berries on a shortbread tart with the tutti cream. Oh, my ....like this was the best version of this style I have had in a long time. Highly recommend this as a must have!

I love this patisserie. My Belgium friend introduced them to me almost 25 years ago. Since then, this has been my go-to spot for baked goods. Whenever I am in the area, I have to make a trip there. My favorite is the apricot tart. Love the buttery taste of the crossiants and danishes. Their desserts are not too sweet.

One of the best French bakeries in the city. We have loved this place for many years. Glad to see it still maintains its quality and service! Recently tried their apple tarte and even after 4 days the apples still remained fresh and maintained their crunch!

A small shop with 3-4 tables inside to eat, or you can eat outside if you choose to. Rahier serves high quality pastries, tarts and cakes. They also offer other items such as sandwiches, coffee and teas.

One of the top authentically French patisseries in Toronto. Their bread, pastries, and cakes are top-notch.

Rahier Patisserie is such a cute bakery. When I walked in, I really feel like a kid in a candy store.. all the packaged cookies, all those individual cakes that looks so yummy that is hard to pick one! Rimbaud ($5) - Mango mousse, ginger cream, financier sponge cake - Beautiful presented and good size as an individual piece.. - I love mango so I am a little bias.. but this tasted so so good! Not too sweet, not too heavy... the hint of ginger really balanced the mango flavour Butter Croissant ($1.75) - Dare I say it is one of the best croissant I ate recently? - buttery and flaky outside and so light inside too... more like a pastry.. with no doughy texture... - I got all the crumbs all over my desk and myself when I tried eating it at my office desk! - Size wise it is one of the most chubby ones... Cappuccino ($3) - not bad but cannot compare to real espresso bar... but I really need a coffee to enjoy my pastry... BTW, they have little sample cookies that they placed around the store for you to try.. I ate 2 before I even placed my order...... Aside from sweet and pastry, Rahier afford baguette sandwiches I think I will try one of those next time when I come in...

Delicious. I had the dark hot chocolate frothy with steamed milk. I dipped my cookies in and fell in love with the sweetness.

I came here for breakfast and tried the chocolate croissant, vanilla cream pastry, and custard tart. All the pastries were soft and flaky. The sweetness was perfect--I don't like things overly sweetened. I personally would have liked the chocolate croissant even more if the top layer was crispy. It would be great if they could offer toasting the pastry so the chocolate could be warm and melty. :) I definitely want to come back and try out the chocolate chip cookie!!

Nomnomnom is in the eyes(and stomach) of the beholder. Future events are unpredictable at best, like a Monkey throwing a Dart. I threw 2 Darts at Rahier from 2 different distances and the outcome were not as I predicted derived from historical knowledge and available intelligence. Only living in the moment and experiencing it myself first hand can I see the result of the hypothesis. What that meant is that the Dumas wins over Balzac Cake hands down. Dumas(+ 0.5 Star) surprised me as one of the better Mousse-style Cakes I've had but Balzac didn't have nearly the same outcome. Another unpredictable result was that I would have never thought that the Individual Cake at Rahier HQ($5.00) was more costly than one of their Retailers($4+) they outsource. I came by on a Sunday afternoon when there's breeze business but even with that I didn't get much of attention or welcome nor a sign of farewell for that matter. Service obviously wasn't what I came here to consume but I'm sure one of the Two ladies could have easily attended to the Table area where it looked like a Pastry Battle occurred earlier with battle remains on the floor as I wiped my Dishwasher washed Fork of water-stain prior to consumption. This beholder nom'd your cakes better when it's not from your store.

Macarons, sold by weight. Flavours: lemon, apricot.

My wife wanted to go there so we went on 2023-01-31 mid-morning when there would more selection…read more They definitely have quite a selection of pastries and savoury food. My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Amazing place! I…read morecalled ahead to find out if they had this plum tart I purchased the first time I was there. Yet no one answered the phone. No problem. Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
