a variety of pastries in a box
    Agnes W.

I was craving sweets one day and was looking for something different than my usual go-to dessert and came across Select Bakery on ubereats. I had been here a couple times before but had always gotten just the Loukumades. After spending some time browsing, I decided to try some other things on top of getting Loukumades. I ordered Galaktobureko slice (Custard pie), Pouro, Mini Kataifi, Samali, and baklava triangle. Most of these items are soaked in good amount of honey, that seems to be the general theme in Greek's pastry, which is not a bad thing. It just means they're sweet and I wasn't able to eat much in one seating :D

Local Greek bakery we visited daily for great lattes, fetas, olives and baked goods - highly recommend the Galaktoboureko (custard pie). Prices are very reasonable, products fresh, service friendly and quick. One morning the owner saw me waiting and opened a few minutes early! Love skipping the chain coffee shops for places like this :)

These wrapped snacks are amazing!! I ordered 50 each for my daughters engagement party as a dessert. I ordered through their user friendly website. After I ordered, they called to tell me when they were sending and by which carrier. They are in Toronto, Canada and I live in Maryland. I received the next day via DHL. Not one was broken. They looked beautiful. I put them in a gold wire birdcage, where guests got them. It looked beautiful. They have excellent service. I kept a few in fridge and they still taste fresh after 5 days. Compliments to you all !!

This neck of the woods is so underrepresented on Yelp. But here's another hidden gem of a euro bakery! It's a classic Greek bakery offering a variety of yummie, omnomerific goodness. There's a HUGE selection of pastries, cakes, and cookies including standard fare such as baklavas. They're so yummie and sweet, I swear my teeth want to jump out on the spot. The key is the quality honey and dough that they use. Seriously not going to find many better places it. But here's a little secret. I'm usually here for the Nutella filled chocolate covered cookies. When I want to "be the man" at a party, I bring over a box of these crispy, melt in your mouth cookie candies. Once these get unveiled and the ladies sample one, everyone wants to go home with me after. I'm not sure what they put into these, but I swear it's better than ecstasy. Giggidy giggdy!

Nice local bakery with a great selection of treats, ranging from the fancy (instagrammable little mousse cakes) to basic staples (fresh olive loaf, $10 fruit pies), and lots in-between (nice greek pastries & other treats). Also a lovely olive bar and a decent selection of greek grocery staples, as well as a small cafe section for eating in. Picked up a $10 cherry pie to bring to a dinner and it was homemade goodness. Would recommend this place and will be back myself.

The Greek baked goods are delicious! Cinnamon ring and Apple turnover are my favs. It's more of a take out place but they do have couple of dozen seats by the front window where you can just sit and enjoy your baked goods with tea or coffee which they also sell. -- Parking -- Free parking in front after 6pm. Meter parking of $3 @ 1/2 hr 9am to 6pm. Be aware, the meter cop likes to come around 5:30pm to give parking tickets to anyone parked there without having bought a parking from the machines.

Once you get in, walk straight to get yourself a ticket since they call the numbers to serve people. The spot is HUGE with lots of variety of cakes, sweets, pastries, gelato, pastas, sauces, and so much more! The man helping us behind the counter was great and we got some delicious treats. Here's what we got: Cannoli 5/5 - MUST GET. Best thing we had there. It was so fresh and well rounded in flavour. Kataifi 5/5 - Super crispy and sweet! Another must get. Baklava 4/5 - Sticky and sweet. But I thought it was tad too sweet for my liking. Touloumbes 4/5 - This was good and great for sharing but I thought it lacked a little crunch to the exterior. Gelato 5/5 - Thought this gelato was great! Especially the strawberry cheesecake and nutella! Smooth, velvety and delicious. Overall, the variety here is so big that I can't wait to try other options here!

Walking into their section on the right side feels like stepping into a baklava wonderland, filled with beautifully layered, syrupy pastries and a wide range of traditional sweets. There is also a wonderful selection of cream-filled sponge cakes that are rich yet light, making them very enjoyable. The refrigerated section is equally enticing, offering Middle Eastern favourites such as galaktoboureko and loukoumades, alongside elegant French pastries like mille-feuille and éclairs. Beyond the desserts, the shop also carries a thoughtfully curated selection of cheeses and European packaged goods, including coffee, spices, and pastas. Everything is well presented and inviting. The overall atmosphere is warm, charming, and almost magical, honestly giving me the same kind of delightful feeling as meeting someone special for the first time!

The place is bright and oh so clean! Spotless is a word I would rarely apply to restaurants and such, but this place was spotless. Service was efficient and quick. I got a "Russian Chocolate Tale" and an Americano. The coffee was good, a sort of standard blend, not bitter, smooth. The Tale was chocolate mousse on top of a chocolate cookie covered by a layer of vanilla-ish mousse-ish and some pink stuff. (Can you tell I'm not a desserts expert?) Both mousses were delicate and not too sweet, but I got nothing from the outer pink layer. Their selection is an amazing array of standard Western European pastries and desserts. And a Dubai chocolate bar in the $30 adjacent area if you feel like being trendy. Overall, another fine addition to the many great bakeries and dessert places on the Danforth.
