I went with my wife and toddler to see the tulips here in May. While the farm and flowers…read morethemselves were quite nice, there were several factors that made this a negative experience. The primary one, that I'll write about here, was very poor line management and a huge lack of clarity. They have "Tickets" and "Wristbands" buying a "ticket" makes you eligible for a "wristband, but they are not the same thing. They had a terrible solution. Where you wait in an insanely long line (literally an hour long) to get a "ticket" then you have to go all the way back to another insanely long line to get a "wristband" in order to get in the hayride that takes you to the flowers (they would not allow people to walk). There was not clear signage which lead to a lot of confusion that really slowed things down. What made things worse is that we were there right at opening time, so we completed the idiotic process properly. But about an hour in the staff realized how bad their idea was, and tried to combine the lines which led to a ton of people being able to budge us, which was really unfortunate and frustrating. I certainly would never visit this place again on a weekend. It was such a poor experience. Maybe going during the week when visitation is not at peak could be feasible.

Went back after a few years. It was a lot busier which is to be expected however they can not…read morehandle how many people are going. There are no signs telling you where to get what. We bought tickets online in advance, but there was no sign for online sales. Then once we finally found the right line there's only one iPad so the guy had to walk away to get it to scan our tickets. Once you get out of the main area (we ended up walking because only two trackers were going and the line was super long) it was good. We liked the lower area but the front was a total mess and took way more time than it needed to. Pretty disappointed. Hopefully they can fix the front area before next season. Also, there were SO many bees.

Was running rough, brought in for service to Minnesota Equipment Savage. 08/03/24. Service replaced carburetor, gaskets, resealed valve covers, set valve clearances and sharpened blades, $874.58. Unit had follow-up visit, following week, fuel pump pressure issue (no charge for follow up). Hours 290. 07/16/25 running rough, brought in for service. Didn't note hours on unit, estimate 10 added hours of use (five mows of lawn). Run enough to empty tank, require fuel. Service states the fuel smells stale. New carburetor needed, $500+. Service noted no noted damage to carb, no build up, no jell. Failed smell test. Run only premium, ethanol fee, gas. Gas stabilized in unit before winter. Container is 5-gallon (Fire Power Utility Container - with filler hose). Container is used on multiple machines (snow blower, snowmobiles, dirt bike and mower). The container was refilled in May, dirt bike use, prior to refill use in mower. No other containers in garage. Returning to pick up unit without service. Will self-install a new carb. Great fun. Old smelling gas? You decide.

I've always found the Parts staff has been patient and helpful. Recently, I had a problem trying to get my snowblower's tubeless tire back on the rim after it slipped the bead. I've fixed it before myself, but couldn't manage it this time. Reluctantly, I headed to multiple shops in Savage who didn't want to deal with it. I stopped at MN Equipment and 10-mins later I was on my way...with a fix that was "on the house", even though it took two guys had to muscle the tire into submission and get it inflated. Thanks guys...you have my business the next time even my JD products like my Toro, Ariens, or any other yard product has a problem!

My chainsaw was repaired by Runnings, Fall of 2012…read more Dropped off a Stihl chainsaw with the request that they take a look at it and see what it would cost to make it operational again. It had not been run in a few years and I'm elbows deep into a bike project. They said they'd call with an estimate. Great. Call they did ... to tell me that the saw was done and I could come and get it. Ahhhhh? What about calling with an estimate, and what is the bill? "About $100" I was told. Okay. I dropped by to pick up my saw and pay the bill. After waiting a seeming eternity it becomes clear that they can't find my saw. So they bring me back in the shop area to ID it. I finally find it and ...then they can't find the bill. I wait another 20 minutes and then just leave. Without my saw. I had been in the store for 40 minutes at this point. (A point: their computer system seems like a detriment to actually getting people in and out of the store quickly. I looked over the guy's shoulder and viewed the screens and masses of entry boxes. We put a man on the MOON with little more than a clock radio, okay?) I called the manager and explained to him what had happened. He was aware of my situation and said they'd been experiencing a lot of turnover in the repair shop and this was why it is just coming out of a sea of disarray. I also mentioned the estimate on repair suddenly becoming a bill. He said that he'd adjust the bill for me and that I'd be happy. I return to the store. The bill is presented. There is no adjustment. I mention this to the clerk helping me. He takes me back to the shop to find the original bill (I think). I am wondering at this point if they are going to just kill me and get this over with. He finds the bill, and stares at it, clearly ruminating over what to do. He wants to help. He is anguished by this situation. I can't do simple arithmetic either, so I say, "How about $65?" He is awash with relief. "Okay, $65." We bring it to the checkout and he hangs for a few minutes to try and get the check out clerk to do this quickly. He leaves. Then more chaos ensues as the checkout girl can't get the register to work correctly because of the numbers on the bill. "These SKUs won't automatically enter the price," she says to me. I own some SK wrenches but am actually no longer dumb enough to blurt stuff out like this now that I am old. I just hang, decide to buy some candy. Like 10 minutes later I am paying and leaving. I go to Runnings at least once a week to get something, I prefer it over Menards and Ace. They are trying and they'll get it. Saw runs great.

We'd been looking at used tractors for over a year, but hadn't really found anything that we wanted or that fit our needs. We had honestly just decided to start looking at new and there was Stan's pretty tractors, all in a row. It was too late on a Saturday so after the garage sales closed, we came home and found Stan's Equipment Center online and started looking at tractors... and we started to get excited. The prices were fantastic! Using their contact form from the website, we shot off a few questions about the CT1021 and the CT1025 Bobcats and early the next week, Jason started answering all our questions. By the middle of the week, we were comfortable enough to plan to come on Saturday to see the CT1025 in person. Jason was great about answering all our questions via email, which is my preferred form of communication. On Saturday, one week after discovering Stan's Equipment Center, we drove back to Pine City and met Jason and checked out the CT1025 Bobcat. We found it perfect for our needs and the deal was struck. A simple straightforward sale with no games, no pressure, no stress, just some conversation that led to a great sale: a couple of country boys talking about tractors. Our Bobcat CT 1025 was delivered the following Tuesday and we've already used it to clear stumps and move sand (we live in the "Isanti Sand" area. *wry grin*) I highly recommend Stan's Equipment Center for all your land ownership and agriculture needs.
