I can honestly say I have rarely encountered someone as hostile and unprofessional as Derrick the tech at Crown Valley Imaging in Mission Viejo. When I arrived, I began removing my jacket, watch, and jewelry simply to be cooperative. Derrick immediately became confrontational and started raising his voice, saying, "I already told you that you don't need to take off your watch and ring." This was not someone being direct or having a bad day. His tone, body language, and overall demeanor were aggressive enough that the interaction felt genuinely and completely inappropriate for a healthcare setting. I walked in calm, respectful, and friendly as I always do and was treated with open hostility from the start. Patients should never be spoken to or treated this way. Professionalism and basic respect cost nothing. Update: Upon the unbelievable interaction with the tech on Friday, I spoke with Shari the patient coordinator at Crown Valley Imaging and ask for a copy of my report once it became available and it arrived today Monday. I am upgrading my overall rating of 1 to a 3 and giving Shari 5 star rating for being really kind and professional and getting to me what she had promised. Went in for a coronary calcium score (CAC) CT scan. Staff were friendly and had good availability, so I have no complaints about the visit itself. My issue is with pricing policy: their cash price was $351, while Wave Imaging quotes $200 for the identical scan. When I asked if they'd match that price, I was told flatly that they don't do any price matching or negotiation, no exceptions. For a scan that's often not covered by insurance, meaning patients pay out of pocket either way, a rigid no-negotiation stance just pushes people to shop elsewhere. I ended up going with Wave Imaging instead. Nice staff, but the pricing policy cost them my business. read more

I visited this facility with a family member and was blown away by the service and experience. The radiologist was on point, professional, and bedside manner was 10/10. He was able to answer all my questions and ease anxiety. The front desk team was equally impressive and efficient. Check in was a breeze. Upon arrival, show ID, provide insurance information, fill out intake paperwork, and wait for your name. Pretty standard. Inside was clean and welcoming with a big screen tv for those who are accompanying the patients. One thing to note is that if patients want to grab a cd there is a $10 charge per cd. Just fill out appropriate papers, sign some Hippa releases and the CD with imaging will be printed and the report printed for you separately after the radiologist has seen the images and made the report. Reports usually take about a week to be ready. My advice: wait out the report, come back and pay the $10 to have everything done and printed at the same time. Hot tip 2: parking is free, easy, and super accessible. The location of CVI is first floor and depending on where you park, right smack in the front of the building if parking from Los Altos/Plaza side. read more

This place is incredibly disorganized and wasted my time. I had an appointment scheduled weeks in advance, which should have been more than enough time for their staff to verify insurance and obtain any required approvals. Instead, they failed to do their job. I showed up, followed all instructions (including fasting), and sat there for hours--only to be told they couldn't perform the procedure because they never properly contacted my insurance. That is not a small mistake--that's basic front office responsibility. No accountability, no urgency, and no respect for patients' time. Being told after over an hour of waiting that they "can't do it" and I have to reschedule because of something they should have handled weeks ago is unacceptable. If you value your time and don't want to deal with avoidable incompetence, I would look elsewhere. read more

Will never utilize this facility again and i'm alerting my primary, my insurance company and department of consumer affairs. Just went in for a simple xray. They literally plug you into a robo auto spam the crap out of you, pay your bill within 30 days. I've had to call 3 times to let them know i paid the bill, sent the proof, verbalized the proof 3 times and i'm still getting spammed and paper mailed. I would recommend going to a different company if you need imaging. The gentlemen that was working the afternoon/evening shift at the front desk was extremely rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for Crown Valley Imaging. I have been to the MV location many times, including three times in 2025 and another time just last week (Jan. 2026). I have been to the Newport Beach location a couple times as well. Every time I have used CVI, I was treated very well by the people on the phone making my appointments, the people that call a few days before my appointment with the screening questions, the front counter people, and most of all, the Technicians. In MV, I recently worked with FIORELLA, DARREN, YALILA and LAURA. In NB, I have worked with MOSES. Every one of the Techs has been very friendly and accommodating. They make sure I am as comfortable as possible and explain to me what they will be doing. Obtaining the imaging results is easy too, whether it be a disk or hard-copy. I understand everyone is different and has different expectations, but I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at CVI and often choose to go there. CVI and most of the Doctors I see, share the same software that allows the Doctors to view the images and results in their office as soon as CVI uploads the information, so I don't have to get the disk and results myself and bring them with me to my next Doctor's appointment. read more

Billed me for a fully covered service to the tune of 2000 dollars because they failed to bill my insurance properly. I spoke to their billing department that is insisting that I didn't have prior authorization even though I know for a fact that I did. I have spoken to Medi-cal and my Insurance provider/PCP who have confirmed it. They didn't do their job, and now they want to shunt their failure to make a profit onto their patients. Front desk person informed Sami B that I was unwilling to pay the $600 fee for the service since the insurance pre authorization process was incomplete. This was not true. Although I have insurance, I have the means to pay for the service and then file a claim with my insurance. I have always trusted Dr's industry partners & referrals, but l absolutely object to the handing of my treatment today. Many other high quality imaging providers in Orange County. I came here for an MRI with contrast (MRI with IV). I get this done often to monitor a liver issue. So I gave the tech a heads up that the best way to do the IV was in the hand, since my veins are harder to find in my arms. Usually the techs can do my hands quite easily. But this tech really struggled. He tried both hands, both arms. He kept slapping my hand until it was hurting and I had to ask him to stop. Eventually he finally succeeded in getting the catheter in. I had expressed my concern in being late for bloodwork appt in Newport Beach, because of the delay in which it took him so long to do the IV. He said I should leave the catheter in my arm from this appointment, when going to the next appointment. He said I would thank him. And that my bloodwork Dr would be thanking him. Because they wouldn't have to struggle to find a vein (even though I told him my bloodwork Dr never has any trouble). I told the MRI tech that leaving the catheter in made me nervous, what if blood started coming out while Im driving on the freeway? He insisted it was a good idea. When I arrived at my bloodwork appointment an hour later in Newport I was told that they cannot touch a catheter that someone else put in because its a medical liability, and if I were to get an infection from the MRI tech's work, I could hold the bloodwork lab accountable. I begged the lab to just remove it for me so I didn't have to turn around and drive another hour in traffic back to Crown Valley Imaging to have it removed, but they said they can't and said the MRI tech should have known better. I called every urgent care in the area, begging them to take the catheter out for me. They all told me the same thing. Its a medical liability and the MRI tech should have known not to leave it in. Not only did I miss my bloodwork appointment because of the delay at Crown Valley Imaging with the IV (and the lab wouldn't touch me when they saw the catheter in my arm) but I also had to cancel plans with my family in Huntington Beach to turn around and drive an hour right back to Crown Valley Imaging in rush hour traffic to have the catheter removed. When I got there I asked to speak with the Clinic Manager (Eric) who couldn't have cared less. He said "can you not say anything to upset the tech, because its his birthday". Are you kidding me?! Beyond unprofessional. He had no concern for the patient's horrible experience and his only concern was not to hurt the tech's feelings. I knew I would never come back here again simply because of the thoughtless manager. Then, I got a call from someone named Joseph at Crown Valley Imaging, saying they needed me to provide them with my results to my MRIs done elsewhere (which seemed odd) but I emailed them to the company's email (scheduling@cvimaging.net) but the email bounced back. So I tried calling Joseph back for an hour. I tried over and over and just kept reaching people who barely spoke English, who said they knew nothing about Crown Valley asking me for those MRI reports. They admitted they didn't work at Crown Valley and were an outsourced call center. I asked them to please have Crown Valley call me back. So Eric, the manager calls me back after my lunch hour is over and says "yeah we have had to deal with you before", as if the patient is inconveniencing him by trying to provide the MRI studies that their office called me to request! I said, "excuse me, what is that supposed to mean? Are you referring to when your tech wrongly left the catheter in my arm and I had to drive an hour back to have you remove it"?. And Eric replies "you're just being you. I don't care to continue this conversation", trying to imply that the patient is somehow at fault. This Clinic Manager has no empathy for patients and has no common sense on how to speak to human beings in general. He should be removed from this position immediately. I called a lawyer regarding everything that happened, and they confirmed that this is "medical negligence". As if the issue with the catheter and the careless manager are not bad enough, the MRI tech had the cord to the headset you wear around my neck when I was put back into the MRI machine after the IV was put in, and it was choking me. I couldn't breathe, so I had to rip off the headset. And then the MRI was so loud without the headset covering my ears, that my Fibromyalgia pain levels flared way up and I was suffering. I would have pressed the emergency button they give you, but the MRI tech told me ahead of time that if I pressed that button for help, I would have to start all over with the procedure. My doctor sent in an order and when I called the next day, they said they had not received it so I spoke to my doctor again and had her resend it . after they did that I got a call within 10 minutes to set up an appointment. I was experiencing some pretty bad back pain when I went to the office and they were more than accommodating. when I decided I wanted to wait for a disc of my findings the wonderful young man told me it would take about 15 or 20 minutes. I look pretty uncomfortable so I told him I'd like to sit in my car and he said no problem. I'll just call you when they're done. He also explained what I was getting and how it was going to get to me and my doctors. can't say enough about how nice they treated me read more

Good luck even trying to schedule with this place. We sent in an email to their scheduling cvi email with the doctor's order attached. Received a call from that request and the woman couldn't find the order so said I had to call back and she hung up. The only way she knew to make a call to me was from my email request to begin with, with the order attachment. Second day, I called them and they couldn't find my doctor order and after she tried to tell me it wasn't sent, I was put on hold only for her to come back and magically find it. She tried to schedule me for 24 days later in a far location and said it would've been faster if the note said STAT on it. People are in pain and scheduling for the soonest possible time and it's wasting even more time when front desk is so unorganized and telling patients they didn't send information in. Two dingbats in two days. There are plenty of MRI places that will happily take my money and I'll happily pay for a place that can be organized enough to make an appt. read more

I would like to update my experience with Crown Valley Imaging Radiologist, Alireza Namini misread my daughter's x-ray and CT. Dr. Namini reported my daughter did not have a heart issue. Thankfully, my daughter's Pulmonologist phoned Dr. Namini for a double read. My daughter needed open-heart surgery. Thankfully, the surgeons at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. were able to correct my daughter's congenital heart condition. Crown Valley Imaging received thousands $$$$ for the misdiagnoses of my daughter. They sent us to collections because we did not want to pay the co-pay of approximately $600.00 Dr. Namini error cost our family thousands in additional testing and emotional distress. This review is about just trying to schedule an appointment. I can only assume that the actual service at this location is likely just as poor. We sent the doctor's order for X-Rays over to CVI via email as instructed on the website. A few hours later we called for an appointment and the receptionist berated us, saying we were calling too soon. They would have to review our paperwork first before they would do scheduling. He said CVI would call us by the next day after they had time to review our paperwork. Next day came & went ... no call. We waited until midday on the third day and called again. Got put on hold twice ... and promptly disconnected twice. Finally on the third try got to talk to a receptionist, a woman this time, different person from the receptionist who berated us days earlier. She couldn't find our paperwork. We went over the information again & again, and finally she found it in the email, apparently *still* waiting to be reviewed. We then spent I guesstimate another 15 minutes on the phone going over the order and all my details. I found myself repeating the same information over & over & over. It was getting ridiculous. She could not even give me a clear answer as to when the X Rays would be available to my doctor, saying to me, "You should remind our front desk at your appointment to send the X Rays (to the doctor)." Huh?! Remind their office to do their job? The final straw was when she demanded I fax over my insurance card. (Who faxes anymore?) I said I would bring it with me -- after all she already had all my insurance info in the doctor's order forms. That wasn't good enough she explained, she need the actual card. And in the next breath she explained their cancellation policy and how I would be billed for a cancelled appointment. At this point I had had enough. I realized she was only demanding my insurance card ahead of time to prebill my insurance and bill me if I tried to cancel this appointment after I hung up the phone. I had a VERY BAD feeling about this place and immediately said to cancel the appointment. I have never had such a bad experience with any medical office. read more

The technicians at Crown Valley imaging are terrific unfortunately the front staff is very lazy and often does not respond to emails nor do they follow through on sending images to Doctors. She immediately saw I was nervous and helped ease my mind and was so helpful. She was really efficient and had such a calming presence and voice. Seems like I only review something when I come across an employee that is rude or I'm lied too so, here goes. As a business owner myself, and knowing how important reputation is, I have to tell you that the receptionist at the front desk of CV Imaging, Lilly, was anything but pleasant from the second I walked in. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to her having a bad day. Maybe something is going on in her life that caused the rudeness. I get it. No one knows what she might be dealing with. But, when someone in her position lies to patients, especially about medical issues or HIPAA, or, spreads misinformation in regard to policy or procedures, that's not a good thing and can become a potential liability based on the seriousness of her lies. For what it's worth, if she's going to be in the position that she's in, she needs to be trained. I was so offended that I scheduled my upcoming MRI at the WAVE facility in San Clemente. They were nice, helpful, friendly and most importantly, educated. Then, to top it all off, I sent a nice email to the office Manager, Eric Martinez, explaining what had happened and my concern. This place is terrible at responding. They don't pick up their phone, don't respond to phone messages, and don't respond to email. I bugged them for over a week via multiple mediums to get images sent to my doctor (images and not the report). After over a week and multiple calls they finally respond to tell me they've sent the report which is useless since I already had that and needed the images. Your Radiologist, Dr. Alireza Namini misread our daughter's CT, and then Mission Viejo Crown Valley demanded a $579.44 Co-pay from us. If my daughter's Pulmonologist did not ask for a second read, she could have had catastrophic consequences. The error by your Dr. Namini caused our daughter to endure an Echo Bubble test and CPed test. Sadly, this is the second time Crown Valley Imaging has provided us with an incorrect image report. Second time I was sent here In 4 months had an issue with them sending my mri and again 4 months later I have left several messages about how my results haven't been sent for my DEXA scan over a week ago to my dr. And no call back it takes forever to actually talk to someone and they are always rude and unsympathetic that we are the victims in there lack of professionalism or decent work at all. I'm telling the whole staff at SKCE to strongly not recommend them as they have done a horrible job and my case is time sensitive because I'm on disability and gonna lose my insurance if I can't get my surgery done asap which I need there service to send the results I pay for to my Dr. Horrible experience meeting with my 3 different doctors ay SKCE in laguna hills and demanding they send this place NO MORE BUSINESS. Absolutely disgusted 2/2 times in 4 months. Horrific place id gladly pay more out of network then I ever would going back here they are garbage and rude. I also was told DEXA was supposed to do my body fat percentage which is the main reason my dr sent the order in and they said that that wasn't the case for this scan which was inaccurate TRUST all the 1star reviews they really really suck!!! Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start. The level of incompetence in this place is truly shocking. They have no idea what's going on. No two people communicate so no one has any idea what's going on. I've tried making appointments 4 times for a thyroid ultra sound. Each time they said they would call me back, and they disappear. I finally got an appointment, had to cancel 5 days prior because I had covid, and told them I'd reschedule when I felt better. When I called to reschedule, they claimed they can't make a new appointment until I pay $150 no show fee. Are you kidding me? I spoke to 5 people after that. Two of the them said I don't owe anything at all, that it was a mistake. Then the next person said I owe and it never showed a cancellation. Finally spoke to someone who's "in charge" and it was the worst experience. I don't want to name names until I have to, but he was extremely rude and condescending. The last time I heard from them was this gentleman saying he would speak to billing to clear the issue, and I didn't hear back for months! Tried calling back, no answer. Left dozens of messages. And up until this point I was so nice and understanding, because mixups happen. But today I received a text message saying I owe $150 still and to pay it now before it earns interest. I tried calling again. Doesn't even ring. Went straight to voicemail. Let's see what they say when they call back. If they don't respond, I guess I'll update my review with names and the incredibly rude and sexist comments that were made by the male I spoke to.
