Very frustrating and disappointing experience with Simon Med ! I scheduled this appointment well in advance for a mammogram and took time off work specifically for this appointment. My doctor's order clearly states "Diagnostic Bilateral Mammogram (77066)" due to an abnormality found on a previous screening mammogram. However, when I arrived for my appointment, I was told they could not perform my mammogram because it was a diagnostic mammogram and my appointment had not been scheduled appropriately. When I originally called to schedule, the representative never asked me whether my order was for a screening or diagnostic mammogram, nor did they make sure I was being scheduled at the appropriate location. As a patient, I relied on their scheduling staff to ask the necessary questions and schedule the correct type of appointment. Because of this mistake, I wasted my time driving there and back and, more importantly, lost a day of income because I had taken time off work for this medical appointment. A diagnostic mammogram is not something patients schedule for fun -- there is already anxiety involved when additional breast imaging is needed. The scheduling process should be handled much more carefully so patients don't arrive only to be turned away. Very disappointing experience and a completely avoidable waste of my time and money. read more

The stars are earned by the Dr. and initial staff that brought me in. I waited to be seen approximately 40 minutes, when I inquired if they were running behind or if there was an estimated wait time they seem confused. The lady that checked me in initially did not take copies of my ID or Insurace cards, additionally she did not have me sign a consent form for an MRI which leads me to believe I was not properly checked in. My appointment was at 1:30 but I checked in a little later because someone was having scheduling issues. When I asked for copies of the images they said it would be about 10 minutes (more like 15). There is definitely room for improvement with communication and efficiency. read more

Avoid this place if you care about having your appointment on time. I have gone to this place twice for MRI's that take approximately 15 minutes. On both occasions, my wait in the lobby exceeded 60 min. Then they had me change clothes and wait some more in a different lobby. read more

The call center is Ok. The front desk is OK but the overall experience is horrible. I had MRI (with/without contrast) appoint and they only performed with contrast because the technical complained she could not find my veins for injection to perform the contrast MRI after poking on my hand, my arm a few times. I got rescheduled to next week. They sent me a several reminders and I went to the facility 10 minutes earlier than schedule. I checked in right away once I arrived the facility. But after waiting for about 50 minutes, the front desk told me that I had the reschedule again as they do not have the injection due available. They want to reschedule me again. I do not have the preferred schedule and location so I decided to cancel the MRI contrast procedure and ask for refund (for with contrast portion) as I paid in full already a week ago. The front desk lady said she can't get me the refund right away as it takes a bit longer process but will give me the refund later today. I left the facility and got a message when I was driving (only 5 minutes earlier after I left facility) telling me that I am rescheduled for tomorrow at SAN Clemente facility. Now I am on the phone with SImonMed for almost an hour trying to connect them for refund and still waiting! Pissed! read more

Well, upon getting a CT scan, I agreed to pay cash and was charged $325. I decided to submit the claim to Medicare only to find out that I was overcharged! The claim form indicated a charge of $195 meaning I was overcharged $130! Had I not made the inquiry they would've kept my money! That's very deceptive! And just plain wrong! I was very pleased with the tech that did the CT scan, but their billing practices need to be looked into, possibly by the Department of insurance! read more

Alexis and the San Clemente office had prior knowledge of my case, had previously coordinated my MRI scheduling outside the ordinary call-center process because the standard scheduling system had repeatedly failed, and had specifically instructed me to call back once approvals were obtained. After the approvals were obtained, SimonMed failed to follow through, failed to check the system, failed to route me to the correct person, and instead allowed an internal escalation to interfere with approved urgent imaging. There's a radiologist tech there named Sam and she was literally the best MRI tech I've ever had. Alexis made this experience so horrible and has literally blocked me from getting really urgent imaging after this office discovered that my spine has been unstable and has been the reason for me passing out. It is so frustrating dealing with insurance companies and having things like this happen from people who aren't even doctors when you're just trying to get medical care. I had MRI scheduled today and they're canceled because of her and I've spent over 30 hours on the phone with these people and the scheduling team. Poor poor service, especially seeing is how I've been coming here for at least six years read more

As with the other reviewers, Chelsea had the best bedside manners of any Ultrasound Technician I have been referred to in the last decade. Along with good front office staff, Leyla and Alexis, the overall experience was professional and reasonably timely. For those that complain about equipment that is a common issue of unscheduled downtime of numerous facilities, that is out of the control of staff and it os frustrating to them, too. For me, just the overall encounter can be extremely anxiety provoking. At this location it is amazing to feel that I was not a burden or overreacting. All the staff, including Chelsea were able to connect with my extremely severe anxiety and need for coping mechanisms such as a weighted blanket and teddy bear, without complaining and remaining very respectful, polite, friendly, and funny at the same time. It was the perfect balance for a young kid/patient, like me. read more

Both the experience overall with Simonmed and the appointment were completely unprofessional. My appointment was cancelled 4 times and then I needed to reschedule. On the last set appointment at 3p, while driving to the Irvine location, I got a call. Their scanner was down so they rescheduled me for 8p at Laguna Hills location. My appointment was for 8p and I was not seen until 915p. Based on all the negative and poor reviews I am surprised they are still in business! Never, never again!! read more

I didn't even step foot in this place and I can tell it's ripe with "training issues" as Reeham has stated. I received a referral to SimonMed for dual shoulder MRI's with contrast. I actually had a referral somewhere else, but it was out a month and a half. My insurance called other providers before redirecting the referral, to make sure that they; 1. Provide the services needed and 2. Had availability sooner than what I had scheduled. Great. They had availability "as soon as today or tomorrow if (they) had the orders". Wait the 2 days for it to be redirected. I call (June 30th) and speak to someone who books me an appointment by LOOKING UP MY AUTHORIZATION. I am scheduled for July 11th at 10:15am. I then receive a text message on July 2nd saying that they hadn't received the order and would need to reschedule unless I got it to them. So, I call my insurance the fax it over and it is confirmed as received. I get another text message confirming my appointment and providing me with a link to fill out forms. Fast forward to July 9th. I receive another text message that says they cancelled my appointment because they don't have the order. I spend an hour and 45 minutes with my insurance on the phone as well as SimonMed on the line with my insurance. Appointment is moved to July 16th. They have the order at least... So I called SimonMed Imaging and they tell me that there's an issue with the order and that I need an MRI with contrast and without. Because they won't be able to compare. Ok... kinda makes sense. THEN...I get a text message this morning saying that they don't have my order for my appointment and that they will need to reschedule. So, I do what? I call again. I file a grievance with SimonMed Imaging. 45 minutes later. I learn that we are at an impasse. BUT I get a text with a link for forms for the appointment. Just got of the phone with Reeham (spelling?), who called me, and said that they don't do the service I need and that I will have to have my referral sent elsewhere. I ask how this happened. I was told it was a training issue. I seriously questioned that considering that between my insurance and myself, I spoke to 5 different people. This is a foundational issue. How would I even be able to trust any of their radiologists to even read the images? Sounds like a company that expanded too quickly, has a high rate of turnover and an abysmal management. Do yourself and spare yourself the headache and anger, go somewhere else. This is a laughable attempt at being a medical provider. read more

One of the worse place to contact to get your ultrasound or any type of imaging, your calls are answered by overseas operators who have no clue of this business, and they are rude and they hang up on you, and you need to call 3 to 4 times and then everyone of asked you and tells you a different things, unprofessional service, and total disaster with your records and they don't send the report to the doctors, I had to wait over three weeks and keep calling them and then I had to go to the place again and asked them why don't you send the results to the doctor, and then they did it, this is a serious disaster place. read more

I am so grateful to find this place for imaging. I have experienced MRI, Pet-scans and mammograms at Simon-med and each time the front end and back office technical staff have been top notch. The place is clean, the machines appear to work very well and you are in and out in no time. the waiting room is usually just a few patients which means on time appts. My scheduled 11am appointment was changed without my knowledge. I drove from a very far location, almost 3 hours. And was told that my appointment was at 830am. But if I wanted I could wait for a 130pm opening. This was a re-booking, because the tech and the previous location could not put in an I.V. now here i waiting, I'm going to have a VERY long drive home because of traffic and nobody gives a dam. read more

Poorly managed location from top to bottom. Couldn't have had a worse experience. Staff was rude, didn't understand or stick to their own policies for scheduling, never called back, spent hours on the phone trying to reschedule, last minute cancellations, and waited until AFTER my scan to tell me my insurance wouldn't cover the cost. The literal incompetent thieves that work there can collect payment from my cold dead hands. Go literally anywhere else. I don't even trust the results their tech was so quick, dismissive, and hostile. Getting a second one done somewhere competent. What can I say I've been going here since they opened. Make sure if possible fill out paperwork ahead of time. They even call text communicate email you to get paperwork or answer questions ahead of time. Then you show up sign in wait a bit. I've done X-rays mri's ct scans. This facility should be shut down. My first appt took an hour to schedule with a representative. I went in for the appointment, waited and was called back just for the ultrasound tech to tell me she was not qualified to do the exam without a doctor present and her machine was malfunctioning, so I would need to reschedule. I rescheduled and then was on my way to the appointment when I was called by a representative who said my ultrasound needed to be rescheduled again due to the equipment not working. They need new equipment and I will be finding a facility better equipped to handle my ultrasound. read more

They have signs all over their office saying please wait your turn be kind be whatever while they have personal phone calls and leave you standing there for 10 minutes without even acknowledging your presence. They do not respect your time but expect to receive respect for giving you absolutely no service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm here to review Chelsea the ultrasound technician. this was my 4th time getting imaging done at SimonMed Laguna Hills, and this was the best experience I've ever had. the whole scene is usually dark and drawn out, and the technicians I usually experienced in the past were just not very warm. Chelsea was so kind and warm, she was really uplifting, super polite, and she truly made my day so much better. these types of appointments are either giving people good news or bad, and Chelsea brought such light and positivity and cheer to my appointment. What a wonderful employee. I'd have her do my imaging every time if I could pick and choose. read more

Had a 11am appointment after 2 hours of waiting, I walked out without any service! Not to mention front desk Sandra is incredibly unorganized and really has no idea dealing with patients in need of care. She even tried to collect an extra $300 over allocated by insurance coverage. LaidBack Staff at the Laguna Office. Got my diagnosis done on 2nd September 2025. There was no communication about the results to the patient nor informed the ordering doctor until 15th September 2025. I had called up on the front desk on 11th September 2025 to check on the results and the person who seemed to be half asleep told your doctor received it on 3rd september and he also mentioned that he had mailed to my email id - both these claims were false. I ended up calling again on 15th September and Diana Castillo seemed to be responsible enough to send the report to my doctor and also to me. How the Simonmed doesnt have any process to ensure that the reports are reported out to the people? How come they arent monitoring any of this? read more

If you can use a different office. SimonMed Laguna Hills office is terrible. I had 3 procedures scheduled there for July 28. Had 2 MRIs for which my doctor still received no reports. They explained that their radiology doctor was not available. (!). Also for July 28 there was an ultra sound procedure scheduled for me. It was rescheduled two (!) times since then. Finally, I had it yesterday at a different office. It seems their equipment need a repair that takes more than a week. read more

decent spot. nice clean facility. i had to do a double mri. partially terrifying. u really cant be claustrophobic they shove u in there. nice,quiet workers. i dont think the hours on here are correct. i came on a saturday at 9am. they also have a friday at 9pm wtf open late. luckily i dont have to pay for this. was fine for what i needed it for. got a cd for my doctor too. also theres these posters everywhere saying if you have fake eyelashes u cant get mri. crazy read more

Worst call center - overseas. Do not believe them when they say they take your insurance. They tell everyone "yes" and then waste your time making an appointment only to later tell you your insurance is out of network. The overseas call center doesn't understand our insurance here. read more

It's interesting so many reviews are bad for this place as I did not have a bad experience at all. The worst part of it was actually making the appointment itself. I had a morning appointment for an MRI, they got me in right away, were efficient, and it was not a bad experience at all, so I don't get all the bad reviews. They took good care of me and answered any questions I had. I would come back here again with no hesitation. I am rating a 4 only because making the appointment was a pain (wherever their call center is is very loud and I could barely hear the person trying to help me make an appointment). read more

Worst possible customer experience when you are needing things to go smoothly. When you have to get an MRI you aren't in great shape because clearly something is wrong. Having to deal with an office that mismanages billing, is difficult to reach on the phone, operates an offshore call center, and is excessively misleading in costs makes for a miserable experience. MRI went from $110 to $740 to $940 in the course of 3 days - each time I had to call an offshore call center, wait on hold for 15-20 minutes to find out the cost. Each time they assured me the cost was not going to change. At check in day of procedure the cost jumped to $940 (from $110). I asked the cash price and holy crap - $840!!! WTF. Horrible place ! Like honestly what's the point of having an appt if they aren't going to honor it. I brought my mom here to get a CT scan of her knee, her appt was set at 8:45am! We arrived and checked in at 8:30. It's been a whole hour and nothing! There have been people who arrived way after we did and got seen already ! And they even tried charging some lady for her appt after the tech called to cancel. The online waiting queue says only 1 person waiting, that's complete BS. read more

It is obvious that SimonMed has little regard for its patients when it comes to time. I was the second appointment of the day and I was kept waiting for over 30 minutes. The excuse given is that the MRI machine has to warm up and be checked to see if it is properly functioning. If this is true why would it not be checked and warmed up prior to the first patient. Incidentally, I was told by the receptionist that my waiting would be 5 to 10 minutes. Is she implicit in this distortion? After 20 minutes of waiting, on pushing the same receptionist for an answer, she advised it 'should be 4 or 5 more minutes. This is the second time I have been taken advantage by this organization. The first time my waiting was over an hour. First time, shame on them; second time, shame on me. It is my belief that this organization over schedules to make as much money as possible, all at the expense of patients who are kept waiting. No wonder its rating is mediocre at best. It is completely disrespectful of the patient's time and support. And if this was not bad enough, while laying on the table, there was visible damage to the inside of the MRI machine and the communication with the operator malfunctioned and there was total silence for the approximate 35 minutes of the procedure read more

Only appt they had for a STAT appt was at 8:15pm. Never bothered to call me to tell me that my insurance had approved the visit. I finally called them 2 hours before to verify so I didn't go for no reason Arrived 12 min early, Both front and back doors were locked. Phone number taped on the door was not answered for 10 min The rest of the building was closed for the night. Someone finally answered the phone but then after opening door, the receptionist never even bothered to say Hello, she just walked back to her desk in silence. Was a little confused by the dog being led around by the receptionist, but ok? Isn't this a medical office? Was VERY hot in the lobby (at least 80 degrees at 8pm) Why is there no music that can be played on the headphones while in the MRI machine? I guess I will sit in silence for 30 min. Also, when leaving, went to bathroom, after seeing a dirty gown in the sink and poo all over the toilet, I realized I won't be back to SimonMed. This place has been nothing but problems for me, they scheduled my for the incorrect exam, then when I called they scheduled me for the correct exam and it took them 30 minutes to take down all of my information and repeatedly saying it back to me incorrectly, complete waste of time. Then they text me 3 days before my exam that I have been waiting a month for that they need to reschedule me. I call, they say that there are no notes in my chart of why the appointment needs to be rescheduled and sorry so do you want us to reschedule? Now I'm waiting on a supervisor to call me back because I am blown away by the unprofessionalism of this company. The people scheduling appointments and taking down information seem like they have zero training. This is single-handedly the worst imaging center I have ever had to deal with and wish I could give it negative stars. If you can avoid this place, do it at all costs. I called today around 3:00pm to schedule an appointment for my daughter, and I experienced one of the worst customer service experience. It was so bad that I canceled the whole thing and ended up calling another place. The agent who helped me would ask me questions and then put me on hold without telling me. I keep asking if she was still there then she would ask me another question. I told her I was scared to take my daughter there just because of her service. I wish I could remember her name, but she was not important to even remember her name. I will never schedule anything with them ever. read more

I pick up when they call "the fake" person (Annie) is never available and they send me to someone 5000 miles away for a 20 minute verification of my ph # address, etc. then I get sent to another scheduler, go through that process, then get disconnected. With how expensive healthcare is, use people in the us to deliver service. read more
