Over the weekend we experienced a medical crisis with a family member who needed a certain test STAT. This came out of nowhere. Our NP got on the phone and set up an appointment with WaveImaging, which has practitioners in our town but had no nearby appointments. Ack! So, with the clock firmly against us, we hauled butt to San Clemente in order for family member to make it. Yes, the office is a bit dated looking but I didn't care about that; the front desk staff is friendly, the techs are friendly, and the waiting rooms are set up in a way where you don't need to hang out with thirty other nervous people. Family member said a lot of their anxiety about the test was alleviated by their professionalism. One star removed for not having the most up-to-date equipment; the next medical facility told us if their machine couldn't read the test results, family member would need to have the test performed a second time. We lucked out this time, but the anxiety came back upon initial announcement. I'd go again to this location if absolutely necessary (since we live a decent distance from them). Oh, if you're someone who is concerned about the state of barhrooms, theirs are great. read more

My husband went with an order for a soft tissue abdUS to evaluate for a hernia and an abdomen US to evaluate for a mass. They were confused about the order so only did the soft tissue US until They could clarify the order with his doctor. My husband was told it was straightened out and went 2 more times to complete the test but each time they refused to do it. He was told the soft tissue US was normal, no hernia. He went to another imaging center and had both tests done and the soft tissue US DID reveal a hernia. read more

I booked a time for an Ultrasound for early in the morning through their scheduling system. It was far from the closest to my home but I got up super early and drove to this location. Upon arrival, I was told that I am not on their books for this morning or any day following. The only remedy on their part was an appointment 3 hours later in a location that was 40 minutes away from this one. UNACCEPTABLE! Stay far away from this business. I read some of the Yelp reviews and should have known then. If their office runs this way, I really worry about their "imaging expertise. AGAIN UNACCEPTABLE! STAY FAR AWAY! Giving this 1 star because there is nothing lower. read more

It's hard to believe this facility is in the U.S. It is dirty, old, wallpaper peeling off walls, no uniforms or any sort of organization. The bathroom was filthy. The staff was kind but yelling across the room to patients about private information. read more

Are you looking to experience one of the most poorly run companies in California? if so this is your place! The less than 90 IQ receptionist will thrill you with her lack of customer appreciation and her rapier wit. My paperwork from them said please show up for your 9AM appointment 1 hour early for paperwork and sign in. When I showed up on time I was told to go sit outside in my car and come back in at 8:50. I showed her their text, and she replied that "you don't require contrast, so you are too early". The technician was fine but first impressions matter. I recommend that Wave Imaging either pay for her charisma transplant or give her the two weeks of final pay she's entitled to, and hope the door doesn't hit her ass on the way out. Literally the worst imaging center in Southern California. First off you will not be able to park on site because they have about 40 spots for a large building and it's taken up by their staff. Secondly, demand a copy of your records immediately because you will not be able to get another copy sent to your doctor or yourself until you actually drive to this location. Wow! If I could give this place a zero I would. I had an ultrasound done at the Laguna Hills location, and the Technologists skill level was so poor that the images were dark and could not be read. The radiologist passed it through as an incomplete exam instead of having me come back for a repeat study. I ended up calling and asking for it to be repeated, and had it repeated at the San Clemente location. However, I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for the results and cannot reach anyone in the office and every time I try to call the phone hangs up. I am a radiology tech myself and I cannot believe the poor horrible customer service of this company. I have known past Techs that have worked for this company and they refer to it as "BAD NET" instead of Rad Net. I wish I would've known how horrible it really was before I had this test done. I am a cash paying patient and I could've gone ANYWHERE else and I should have!This place is so horribly unprofessional and the skill level of the Laguna Hills ultrasound tech was the worst I have ever seen in my imaging career. I cant say that about the San Clemente ultrasound tech named Lily- she was very professional and very skilled My advice :Stay far away from any imaging center affiliated with Rad Net There are so many other far superior imaging facilities in our area! read more

Unable to reach office by phone. Unable to make an appointment on line. The Mission viejo office had told me that the X-ray machine in San Clemente wasn't working and it should be repaired by 2/4. I Had my friend drive me over on 2/4 as I couldn't walk due to ankle surgery and the X-ray machine still wasn't working. The San Clemente office did help make an appointment in Laguna Woods for the next day. Upon arrive there for appointment they told me I'd have to wait for the X-ray tech to return from lunch. We rescheduled to come back at 3:30. A then received a call that the X-ray machine there was now broken and they needed to reschedule. I would NEVER recommend this place! Showed up for my X-ray appointment and after waiting, was told the machine was broken. This was my second attempt. The first time, the technician wanted to leave early and cancelled my appointment. I agree with other reviewers, the receptionist is an empty shell of a human being. read more

Very unprofessional office, environment. I had an appt scheduled for a CT. I showed up and they said they don't have a tech, don't know when they'll have a tech and that they can schedule me in 2 weeks w the closest location in Santa Ana. I had to prep for the appt. And adjust my schedule so a phone call to save me the trip would've been nice. She said someone should've reached out to me. No one did- I received paperwork to fill out via text and email so they clearly had my contact info correct. read more

Update: The report was finally uploaded nearly a month later. And it's shockingly careless, with extremely limited information on just one nodule. The report itself is inconsistent with years of consistent readings showing slow growth of multiple nodules, and enlarged lymph nodes. It's very obvious the images were sent in a rush, read in a rush, and reported in a rush. I will be getting a second opinion and not returning to this location. For charging me over $400, this location sure as hell didn't meet the mark. Please read other reviews and opt for a different location or a different imaging center like Simon Med, which is far more thorough. _______________ *** _____________ All the reviews about them not delivering results are true. I had three ultrasounds done on one day. Two were read and posted on the portal within days. The third one, the most urgent one, is just missing. It was sent to a different radiologist. The dates provided on the portal came and went. I made multiple calls to the site and was given false assurances. My doctor appt came and went. We are now on day 18 and I was told yesterday that the results were being sent to my email and to my doctor, and would take a few hours to post in the portal. There's nothing. They better hope the results are not serious bc a delayed reading/reporting based on incompetence is grounds for legal action. ** And what do you know? This entire time my images weren't sent, and the rep who told me the report would be sent to the doc and me over email within hours was lying bc they don't send reports over email, and now they're saying it was sent within minutes this morning. The portal still doesn't have it so who really knows if it was actually sent. I give up. read more

Took my wife for a standard ultra scan. We were a little early no problem, but later we heard thru word of mouth that one of their ultras sound machine broke down. we thought nothing of it because surely they have more than one machine and the front desk would tell us since we are waiting in the lobby. Forty five mins pass our appt where many have gone before us, they never told us. I had to check in AGAIN and this was when they said sorry their machine is down. Are you Flocking kidding?? My wife had to sit there with a full bladder (this is normally required for women) for over 1.5 hours with the drive wanting to go to the bathroom!! And they have the nerve to as me if I want to reschedule???!! I ask for full refund never to return!!! The building is old, the lobby is old. I'm sure their equipment is OLD since it keeps breaking down. Now their front desk is OLD!!! read more

I had an MRI of my pelvis on 8/8/24 and there is still no report on the portal. I have called 3x and my doctor's office has called as well. No one has called me back. I have also had to cancel 2 appointments with my doctor as we are still WAITING FOR THE REPORT 18 DAYS LATER. When someone is dealing with a potential tumor you'd think they'd get it done stat as every day that passes is another day I am not having it removed and biopsied. All we can do is look at the images without an interpretation. This is truly serious when issues can be life threatening. I scheduled a CT scan at the San Clemente location of Wave Imaging (675 Camino De Los Mares, STE 101, San Clemente, CA 92673). I received multiple emails and text messages with instructions, including a reminder to fast for 6 hours before the appointment. My CT was scheduled for 1 p.m., so I had been fasting since the night before. I arrived at Wave Imaging and was informed that my appointment had been canceled because they no longer perform CT scans at that location. I was never notified of this change. I asked to speak with a manager, but was told they were at lunch and promised a callback, which never came. I called the main office: First call: Waited on hold for 45 minutes before giving up. Second call: Was reassured by the agent that their "best manager" would call me within five minutes. No one called. I'm now on hold for the third time, still waiting to speak with a manager. read more

I was recommended by my insurance company to "try other resources" since the $$$ cost for an MRI at my current medical group was more like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ compared to Wave Imaging's net fee of $$$$. Wave is very busy, and I strongly suggest you consider the following before booking here. Their MRI machines are in good working order, but they are old. I'm guessing 2008-2010 vintage, hopefully not older than that. What this means is that they were built for folks who were.... a bit narrower, less "husky"... back in the day compared to a 2023 American. I'm 6 ft and couldn't fit in the machine past my neck. My shoulders bumped into the walls of the unit and no way was I ever going to fit. If you are taller than 5ft 7, and over 200 lbs you may want to try another Wave Imaging office for one of their newer units, and specifically ask for an Open MRI. My two biggest reasons for 3 stars here is first, the size issue should have been disclosed before setting the appointment. WAVE had my height, weight, etc info but said nothing nor had any disclosures about the fit of the unit. The second reason is that the staff said they re-booked me for an Open MRI. I called that office a day later and yes, I was booked, but not for the Open MRI. The nearest available appointment for my procedures had to be pushed out 2 weeks, all because of disclosure and re-booking foul ups. Mistakes happen, but mistakes can be prevented with disclosure and written confirmation (my appointment booking was handwritten by office staff - my first clue something could be wrong). If they can fix these issues by all means consider Wave San Clemente. If not, then Caveat Emptor. read more

Honestly, I didn't expect to have such a fantastic experience getting such a nerve-wracking procedure. So here we are. I found out that the place my doctor WAS sending me to, wasn't in-network with my PPO. Their estimate had been close to $500 even with my top-tier PPO insurance, so I searched for an MRI center that was IN my plan, and there were only 2. Wave Imaging was the closer of the 2 to my house, so I made the appointment online (super easy), submitted all of my documents online (again, super easy), and the next day I called them to check on everything I had submitted. The women I spoke to found my information and let me know that I would just need to call my doctor and have them re-submit my authorization for their office instead of where it had originally been submitted, which I had them do, and then it was all set. Day of the MRI, I checked in - which was super fast since I had filled our all of the forms online. The girl at the front desk was efficient, friendly, and got me set up fast. Waited for 10 minutes, was called back, and the woman who did my MRI was just FANTASTIC. She explained everything really well, and she's really kind and gentle. I wish I had seen her name, but it was kinda overwhelming as my first MRI and I forgot to look. I could not have had a better experience though as far as where I went and I would (and WILL) go back to Wave Imaging if I ever need another scan or X-ray, since they were fabulous AND I know they're part of my insurance plan. Worth mentioning: I had hundreds of photos of my brain MRI and the doctor's report detailing what they meant by the time I returned home from the imaging center! The results were finished FAST. Despite the location being very convenient for us, my husband has had 2 appointments cancelled the day prior (even after it had already been confirmed) because they said the tech was not available. He had to wait 3.5 months for the rescheduled appointment and that was cancelled again. I'm not sure if this location has only 1 tech but they schedule appointments well in advance and cancel them at the last minute. My husband took time off work twice. Rather than wait another 3 months for a San Clemente opening, he has to drive to Orange on a Friday in rush hour traffic just to be able to have an appointment the same day as his cancellation. Very inconvenient. I've gone to Wave Imaging in San Clemente and Newport Beach. By far, the Newport office is much cleaner, a newer facility and the front desk staff seem more professional. It's too bad, but for the same co-pay, I'll drive to Newport from now on even though it's further away. read more

I had an x-ray done on Monday and they keep saying results are pending. My doctor calls everyday and they keep saying they will have the report done that day, but they never do. (They are short on Radiologists, seriously???) I'm almost thinking of going to the hospital and getting an outpatient x-ray, since Wave Imaging can't deliver. read more

I've been coming here to do my ultrasounds for the last few months. Every time it's been an amazing, relaxing experience. The front office team is very nice and helpful. They check you in right away. The ultrasound technician and her team are absolutely wonderful. They are so kind and always make sure I'm comfortable. The technician is very professional, she gets the images right away and my doctor always has the results when I go for my visits. I've been to different offices and this is by for the best one. Had my provider mark the test as URGENT today and they said it should've been done within 2-3 hours. It's been 8, no results, and they're closed. Will not be using WAVE again. Also why include an option to speak to the front desk when you call if they do not pick up. ever. or return voicemails? Update, it's been two days since being told it would only take a few more hours and still no report. 13 business days since the MRI itself, almost 3 whole weeks. read more

I chose Wave Imaging because its located 3 miles from my home. Given how low a priority this is for them, i wont make this mistake again. This usually takes 2-3 days. read more

Had an appt at 6:40am one morning that was all approved from insurance to get there and only be told that an approval wasn't good enough..after they told me the night prior that they get the authorization letter from the insurance company. They failed to do that...hence me showing up for my appointment on time and they couldn't see me. They booked me for the next appointment on Monday morning only to be called on Friday night telling me that they had zero technicians for the entire day and had to reschedule me again for the next morning. Crystal at the front desk is horrific and rude with the grossest attitude. Next time I'll go elsewhere for imaging services if that means going to the next town. read more

Their accents are so thick they don't understand you, but they don't tell you that. They just type in anything they think they heard!!!! REALLY!!!! AND it's REALLY HARD TO UNDERSTAND them. This office is extremely disorganized and improperly filed claims through my insurance under a different company name causing the claims to be denied and seen as out of network. After lots of back and forth with my insurance, now, I have paid the full, correct amount to Wave Imaging and yet am receiving calls from a debt collector saying I owe them more money. Completely incompetent. I would have ignored this major inconvenience had the office not also been extremely old, busy, and filled with receptionists that have no idea what they're doing. Is there a minus star please allow. Worst service I have received. Also over the phone you can't ask for clarifications or dare to repeat back to confirm understanding from both sides. Absolutely no respect for customers even in person taking no consideration for weather you can hear them talk about you. Look for other locations or other company if they don't care to check on customer survey feedback majority of nurses are great but who ever answers quesitos on front desk really bad I had several people same service. Also the nurse taking me back didn't wear a mask and didn't provide any mask with no wires for MRI I Find that a bad practice.
