Every time I have used CVI, I was treated very well by the people on the phone making my appointments, the people that call a few days before my appointment with the screening questions, the front counter people, and most of all, the Technicians. In MV, I recently worked with FIORELLA, DARREN, YALILA and LAURA. In NB, I have worked with MOSES. Every one of the Techs has been very friendly and accommodating. They make sure I am as comfortable as possible and explain to me what they will be doing. Obtaining the imaging results is easy too, whether it be a disk or hard-copy. I understand everyone is different and has different expectations, but I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at CVI and often choose to go there. CVI and most of the Doctors I see, share the same software that allows the Doctors to view the images and results in their office as soon as CVI uploads the information, so I don't have to get the disk and results myself and bring them with me to my next Doctor's appointment.

I can honestly say I have rarely encountered someone as hostile and unprofessional as Derrick the tech at Crown Valley Imaging in Mission Viejo. When I arrived, I began removing my jacket, watch, and jewelry simply to be cooperative. Derrick immediately became confrontational and started raising his voice, saying, "I already told you that you don't need to take off your watch and ring." This was not someone being direct or having a bad day. His tone, body language, and overall demeanor were aggressive enough that the interaction felt genuinely and completely inappropriate for a healthcare setting. I walked in calm, respectful, and friendly as I always do and was treated with open hostility from the start. Patients should never be spoken to or treated this way. Professionalism and basic respect cost nothing. Update: Upon the unbelievable interaction with the tech on Friday, I spoke with Shari the patient coordinator at Crown Valley Imaging and ask for a copy of my report once it became available and it arrived today Monday. I am upgrading my overall rating of 1 to a 3 and giving Shari 5 star rating for being really kind and professional and getting to me what she had promised. The issue arose when I needed a copy of my MRI on a CD for an upcoming doctor's appointment. I called 24 hours in advance, clearly explained my limited availability, and requested the CD be ready at a specific time. I was told it would be. At no point was I informed there would be a charge. When I arrived, I was told there was a $50 fee per disc. Because this was never communicated, I had not brought my wallet. Instead of acknowledging their lack of communication, the staff insisted I had previously received a disc (which I did not) and refused to take accountability. This resulted in over 40 minutes of unnecessary stress and back-and-forth. At one point, I was told the CD was "scratched" and the images wouldn't load, which did not appear to be true and felt dishonest. The lack of organization, poor communication, and unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistake made this an extremely disappointing experience. For a medical facility, especially one serving patients in vulnerable conditions, this level of service is unacceptable. Their lack of communication and improper training should be the priority not enforcing some policy that I had no idea about and did not receive a disc for.

Basically, They were so nice. Everybody I encountered was sincerely kind, patient, & professional. This includes the front staff, Olivia and the others, and the radiology assistants. Also noteworthy, is that they have a safe secure location for your valuables, offer earplugs, they want the experience to be as exceptional as possible. The MRI, was kindly explained, quickly and efficiently done. In addition, Spencer - the office manager, was very attentive, in assisting me with questions/concerns, with follow up MRI Comparisons, and the MRI report or the radiology report. In conclusion, I'm actually glad my healthcare insurance recommended this location.

It brought back some really good memories. I am scoring with three stars. You have NO privacy when you're sitting in the waiting room. They have front office staff who call patients or MD offices, they say patient names and date of birth where everyone can hear it out in the open. Wave Imaging, really needs to put a glass barrier or something of that sort, so that their staff's voice doesn't carry over into the waiting area. That was literally our problem when I used to work in that same exact suite many years ago. The waiting room had huge scuff marks with paint missing all across one side. The suite itself is not the prettiest Wave Imaging I have ever been to. They should think about the decor or color scheme so it's not so blah in there. That said, my imaging tech was fast, courteous and friendly. He himself, gets 5 stars. The front office is another story. They were not personable at all. They just looked bored out of their minds. This interaction made my visit a bit unpleasant. Would I return? Yes. Unfortunately it's the closest location to my address.

After receiving a denial letter from my Medicare Part D provider, I brought it to CVS and asked them to bill Medicare Part B - per the denial. CVS pharmacist informed me they needed an asthma diagnosis to bill Medicare Part B. CVS contacted the clinic twice last week and were IGNORED. I checked with CVS today and they still hadn't heard back from Hoag. I called the clinic, spoke to Luis (who refused to give his surname). He was as unhelpful as possible. I fact he attempted to blame ME for Medicare Part B refusing payment. He kept muttering to contact them sooner the next time - which had nothing to do with the issue. I explained to this young man how I was forced to pay out of pocket... at least 5 times. I don't think he ever understood why I was calling. Luis called and spoke to the CVS pharmacist who gave him the Medicare Part B *provider* phone number. Luis gave me that number and told me, the patient, the call. Medicare asked for the NPI (National Provider Identifier) which a patient wouldn't have. CVS is unable to assist as Hoag Urgent Care computer system refused to electronically submit the prescription to CVS - stating it needed a pre-authorization (and advised me to check back in 10 days). This is Albuterol Sulfate nebulizer solution that I needed to keep myself out of the hospital while battling Influenza Type A. I was forced to purchase the medication out of pocket because breathing is rather a mandatory thing. I will be filing complaints with Medicare, Hoag Patient Relations, and the Better Business Bureau. In future, I will be going to another facility for my urgent care needs, as Aliso Viejo has ALWAYS been a problem ... either with billing or substandard medical care. HOAG COMPUTER PRESCRIBING SYSTEM REFUSED TO SEND ASTHMA DRUG TO CVS. That's the issue and it's BAD. I'm a senior citizen with Type A influenza and asthma. I was short of breath at my visit earlier with Dr. Z. Ahmed. He prescribed Abuterol solution for my nebulizer and Tamaflu. Unfortunately, the computer system at Hoag made the decision to NOT send the Albuterol solution to my pharmacy as it decided the med required a pre-auth. My husband came back from on the pharmacy with Tamaflu ONLY. PROBLEM! I was forced to call Hoag Urgent Care and tell them to call in the Albuterol Dr. Ahmed wanted me to have at home to prevent a *breathing emergency*. I was forced to get dressed again and drive myself to CVS to pick up my asthma med. I paid cash. MY CHOICE - NOT HOAG'S COMPUTER. I called and spoke to Katherine, informing her of this massive issue. Instead of being proactive and helping, she made the decision to take my complaint about Hoag computer system personally - although I sincerely doubt SHE programmed the system. My request to Katherine was quite simple: "please inform Dr. Ahmed that Hoag's computer failed to send my asthma med to my pharmacy." Katherine decided to take issue with this simple request - so here I am, posting a complaint. Dr. Ahmed needs to know the problem with Hoag computer system. It's HIS license and he should be confident that the medication he prescribed actually gets sent to the pharmacy. That didn't happen so I'm here to inform the public and Hoag that their computer prescribing system is INTRUSIVE and is making medical decisions without a license. I was using EXPIRED Albuterol at home (April 2025) over the weekend, waiting to go to urgent care today. Dr. Ahmed did everything right. Hoag computer decided to deny me the medication because my insurance wanted a pre-auth. THAT WASN'T THE COMPUTERS CALL. It was mine. I paid cash - $28.34 (NO BIG DEAL). MY DECISION because I like *breathing* ... kinda necessary, right? DO BETTER HOAG ...

After the laboreous take to set the appointment online, I was met with the fat that x-rays could only be made as "walk-ins". I was fortunate in that they accommodated me very quickly by making adjustments so that I could be serviced within 10-15 minutes. The odd part is that my x-ray session only took 3-4 minutes. I went to Wave 7 times in 4 days and kept on getting the runaround without getting the X-Ray done. I made an appointment online and rushed out from work to get there and was told : "someone just took that appointment! We're going to give you another appointment now." So 3 days later, I left work early and rushed out again, to get there for them to tell me they can't do it because the technician that performs that procedure has left for the day (and I was 12 minutes early!). Then they gave me ANOTHER appointment. When I got there again this time, they told me that their machine is broken and they can't do it. It's just so unbelievable and very unprofessional. So frustrating and exhausting. On and on, they had all kinds of excuses. How could anyone run a business or a medical facility like that? They told me to try the Irvine location. I went there to find out that Irvine doesn't do it! I called their Newport Beach facility and the person that answered the phone confirmed 4 times, "yes, we do perform that procedure here. You need to get here before 4:45 pm." Like a fool, I took her words and rushed there despite heavy traffic on a Friday afternoon. Got there by 4:30 pm and their front desk person said: "I don't know who told you that but no, we don't have any technician here to perform that procedure!" I was at my wit end so I called my doctor's office asking for referral to a different radiology facility. A patient navigator suggested that I go to Memorialcare Radiology Department in San Juan Capistrano and she made the appointment for me. I wish that was done the first time around. Do not ever come to Wave Imaging facilities. They have horrible services and you can see that through all the reviews here in Yelp!

When I checked in, I found out the lab tests I needed had not been ordered correctly and had been sent to LabCorp instead. Suzy was the one person who turned the situation around. While I was sitting in the chair trying to sort things out with my doctor's office on the phone, she was patient and genuinely helpful. She helped me confirm the exact tests with the office and made sure everything was correct before proceeding. She also took an extra vial of blood so that if my doctor's approval came through shortly after, the lab would already have what they needed. That meant I wouldn't have to come back and go through the entire process again. It was very proactive. Suzy was kind and attentive especially during a moment when I was extremely stressed. After a rough start to my morning, she was the only person who actually helped me solve the problem. I hope management sees this because employees like her make a huge difference in the patient experience. Thank you, Suzy. You were amazing!

I made an appointment for my 19 month old baby, there was no option to find a pediatrics specialist Phlebotomist. When we were finally called back I was told they did not have that option. I had to hold my baby down as one women tried to draw her blood and another woman helped hold her arm straight. The one holding her arm was very nice offering my daughter stickers and sweetly talking to her,but the one trying to draw her blood did not get the sample even tho we were holding her very well. My poor daughter was so afraid and screaming crying the whole time. The phlebotomist seemed to get upset and said it was my daughter's bad veins and she moved and they could not get the sample. I understand she's a baby and very difficult to get a blood draw on but why is there no option or anyone to talk to to try and find some who has experience. Awful , scary and just not processional. Bad company practices in general. Never going back. I'll be paying a specialist to come to our house.
