It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, though, because this place is horrible; I avoided the embarrassment of giving a gift for such a terrible establishment. Since I kept the card, I've been trying to book a massage, but scheduling an appointment is nearly impossible. I finally managed to book one, but two hours before the appointment, I received a call stating that the therapist, Mathew (or something similar), didn't feel comfortable treating people who have had or currently have cancer. I've been getting massages for years and had never faced any kind of prejudice--whether before, during, or after my recovery. Someone with such prejudice has no business working in this field. I demand a refund for the gift card and never want to hear about a place that employs people like that again. Update: I started a back-and-forth communication with the location manager, Bria, who not only recognized there was an issue with their process, but also I would be refunded for the gift card. I first started seeing Francesca because of my chronic upper back pain and what was an actual hunch back due to me trying to desperately work the knots out on my own. My muscles were so tight they felt like bone... it was (k)not good. Getting the deep tissue massage with the cupping add-on with Francesca has been essential to my well being / self-care routine. She starts by asking you where you want her the focus on during the massage and has great table side manners. For who also suffer from the same pain - you gotta go regularly! The relief doesn't happen after one massage, it has to be a consistent practice! A nice benefit of the massage is that even though I'm not a member of the gym, I can use the sauna afterwards. The spa itself is extremely clean and quiet despite being next to the gym. Ultimately Francesca has been a god send. You know how the saying goes -- the best gifts come in small packages. Well this applies to Fran, who is small but mighty and can give a mean deep tissue massage. Also special shout out to Jared at the front desk. Whenever I've had scheduling or billing problems, he's consistently come to the rescue with great customer service and resolved any issues ease.
