I've been coming to Crowns for about 9 months. Service is always great. Everyone is professional and they greet you when you walk in. The barbershop is very clean. If there's music I love the music, sometimes it's sports playing in the background which is good too. You can tell the owner takes pride in his business. The barbers as well. It is a nice and clean barbershop. I was able to get an appointment for a haircut on the same day with Blake. When I went in they had a nice vibe in the place with a great waiting area. I didn't wait too long and was helped when Blake was available for the appointment. Blake was really nice and helpful when I spoke to him about what I wanted for my cut. It was a peaceful haircut and I actually fell asleep during it. I feel really bad but I didn't bring it up when I eventually did wake up. lol. But yeah, I got my haircut and it turned out great. Can't speak on the other barbers here but Ameet always takes care of my son... haircuts are always clean, dope and selfie-worthy (based on the number of selfies taken before and after his haircut). I walked in and in about 2 minutes after looking for someone to help (all barbers were busy) I was professionally greeted and offered the next available slot. The shop is very modern with plenty of seating. Customer base was from urban or blue collar to the office professional, as well as many different ethnic groups. I was helped by Jenelle who was very confident, relaxed, pleasant and skilled. She gave me a great 1st time cut in about 30 minutes (taper that was well blended and lined). Ridicules wait time and unfortunately This was first time i came to this store and i didn't review the yelp before i went. I called in a day before to make appointment for Saturday and they said, they dont take appointments for Saturday and Saturdays are just walk in. When i got to the shop, i saw 4 people in front of me, so I sat there hoping it would take around an hour. But as time pass by, new people started to come and they started to cut theirs before me. Found out, guys at the shop knew these new comers so which is why they gave hair cut to them first. This is so unprofessional. Also, guys at this shop are super slow. They are slow because they talk to much while working. One person hair cut takes around 45 to 55 minutes. read more

I was referred to Jackie by my aunt just 3 day before my mom's wedding, she was able to squeeze me into her busy schedule at the last minute, which I was extremely grateful for. I was a little nervous since this was my first time seeing her, however I trust my aunts opinion since she is a well known event planner in Las Vegas. The shop was very clean and all the barbers and stylist carried their self in a professional manner. I could tell right away that Jackie was very passionate about hair and make- up, I told her my concerns regarding my natural hair issues and she was able to suggest some different ways that I could wear my full sew-in weave the way I like. She was very attentive to my needs while I was in her chair and was very informative on different hair products as well as make-up techniques. I left there loving my new look!! I've heard the saying about "don't cheat on your barber" or something like that but I never cared for it. Should have listened to the saying. I was in Fairfield for about 3 weeks housesitting and really needed a haircut. Normally I go to a place off Geneva in San Francisco, but since I was in the area, I decided to try out Crown's after hearing a lot of good things about them. I had once walked in months before but left because I wasn't greeted or acknowledged. I decided to give Crown's a second chance and woke up early to be there around opening. I showed up about half an hour after opening and took a seat. After about five minutes, this girl came out and asked if I had an appointment and I told her no. She said the next barber would come in at eleven and that she'd check with him if he could take me when he came in. I didn't mind if I had to wait, I had the day off and needed a haircut, so I stayed. There was 3 barbers in the shop, but only 2 were cutting hair. Finally I guess the 3rd got bored or something and asked me what kind of haircut I needed and I told him just a simple fade and he took me to his chair. I mean if you're not doing anything and you could make some money, why not? So I didn't have to wait til eleven and he got some extra coins for cutting my hair. I currently have a top knot hair style so I only wanted my hair cut on the sides, a simple fade. The fade was done really well, though he did take a long time. But I'd rather sit there and get a good hair cut then a rush job. The problem was that I had a bunch of stray loose hairs where my sides and the top of my hair met. Also I have a widows peak and normally I do get it fixed to match my hairline/not stand out so much, but this guy like went crazy deep so when I left and took my knot out, I had a bunch of hair come out. My hairline looks a mess now because of that. So overall, the fade was good, the service could be way better, but my haircut overall was a mess. I wouldn't go back. (also it says they accept credit cards here on Yelp, but they wouldn't take mine. Luckily I had some cash on me.) read more

I've been going here for about two years, but as of lately, their customer service has been failing. I made an appointment for my son and me to get our haircut, like usual with our barber. When I got there, I found that I had two heads still in front of me! My time is significant to me (hence why I make appointments). My son wasn't seen until a full hour and fifteen minutes after our appointment time, and to add insult to injury Jay explain that he didn't have the time to cut my hair! Undeterred I came back the next morning, a Saturday, a day in which the barbershop is said to be open to walk-ins. I arrived at precisely 8 am and put my name down on their walk-in list. I had one person in front of me. I began to realize that I was being skipped! I asked the young employee they had operating the list about my position on it. He assured me that I would be next, four heads later I found myself still sitting on the couch! Infuriated I stood up and asked the young attendant to cross me off the list and left. When the owner isn't around the barbers seems to operate off the good-ole-boy system often putting people they know ahead of the clientele that has already been waiting.
