    Salish Sea Fog (Soy Milk)

I always love trying cafes when I travel. As a tea drinker, I wanted to grab matcha while on San Juan Island. There were a few options, but Crows Nest was close to where I was staying. A small spot, with good vibes and yummy drinks! The coffee shop is super small and narrow! Probably three people at most can fit in while others wait outside. In the cafe, they have the menus posted plus some fun stickers and decor. You order and pay, they'll typically make your drinks right then and there but you can always wait outside. Friendly neighborhood service and charm are found here! I was intrigued by their specialty drinks. They are quite accommodating and can make your requests a reality! I asked if their syrups could be added to matcha. I ended up getting the Salish Sea Fog with Soy Milk and Pistachio Rose Matcha Latte with Oat Milk. The Salish Sea Fog was like a London fog--fragrant, floral, and light. I enjoyed my matcha and could taste a light pistachio flavor and a subtle rose hint at the end. It was creamy and kept me caffeinated. For coffee drinkers, Crows Nest Coffee Shoppe seems like a popular spot for residents and visitors! I recommend coming here for their specialty drinks and nice service. They're located off Spring Street and can be easy to pass up. Look for their sign above and the red door! Street parking is free all around town.

Wow, these coffee drinks are so unique and delicious! I went here early May (not even summer peak season yet) a little before 8am and there was a line out the door. Maybe we stumbled in a rush of a large group, but we waited 10 minutes for coffee, which is a bit more than I would expect around here, but it was worthwhile. We got the madrona latte and the third eye latte, as well as a PB&J protein bar and matcha mint chip cookie (the latter two from other local vendors, so I won't review mainly those but they were substantial and delicious). The madrona latte is made from madrona tree which is quite unique, and the flavors are fairly subtle so you can still taste the quality of the coffee. The third eye latte has mushroom and vanilla and it tastes fairly good. I would recommend the madrona latte as this type of tree is fairly local and it is good to try something that you otherwise would not be able to get in other parts of the world. One thing of note is don't expect latte art - main emphasis is the quality of the drinks, then placed into a cup. The owner / barista is fairly nice. He brought out the madrona syrup and third eye mix for us to take a look while he prepares the coffee, to keep us entertained. Amongst the other coffee shops I have been around Friday Harbor / San Juan Island, I would go back here again to try the other specialty drinks!

A literal hole in the wall coffee shop. Every time we passed by, there was a line so I knew I had to try. I ordered a matcha lemonade and they traditionally make the matcha where it's sifted and whisked in a bowl with a bamboo tea whisk. The matcha lemonade was great! It had a nice balance of matcha and lemonade.

Randomly found this while driving to the ferry. Tiny little shop, it's between two buildings, it's a red door and you can miss it if you aren't paying attention. Definitely try this out, owner is friendly and easy going. Coffee was good. They also have mushroom coffee if that's your thing. Loved that they had gluten free local treat options. Dark mocha iced - 8/10 good and not too sweet. It had a kind of almond taste not so much dark mocha but it was good. Coffee quality is there. Light mocha iced- 9/10 good and strong but not sweet. Peanut butter and jelly treat - 10/10 delicious for all my peanut butter and jelly fans. Service - 10/10 friendly and quick

I was looking for a different type coffee shop in Friday Harbor and this came up on Yelp. Great find! I had the honey lavender and my friend had their chai. The chai is homemade and yummy. Next time I'm having the barista's favorite. The Third Eye. Latte with cardamom and a few other flavors. Cute place too!

We came here 3 times during our 4 day stay on San Juan Island because the drinks were so good! The honey lavender latte was perfectly made each time I ordered it, and the matcha lattes my husband had were excellent as well. Don't skip this tiny coffee spot, it's a local gem!

Friendly vegan menu options and everyone is so kind. They always have a line but it's worth the wait.

Amazing and unique lattes! The coffee was worth the long line and a perfect way to end our time on the island.

After noticing that two couples who arrived after us had already been seated, I went back inside to ask about our table. The staff seemed a little irritated by the question, which wasn't a great start to the experience. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal, which I appreciated. However, it took quite a while for our food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't very hot. I ordered my eggs over medium, but they came out overdone. From what I observed, the kitchen and counter staff seemed somewhat disorganized, which may have contributed to the long wait and cold food. I've heard mixed reviews about this place, and based on my visit, it seems like your experience may depend on the day. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. There are definitely some positives, especially with the waitstaff, but overall the experience fell short of expectations.

Service was prompt and friendly and they had gf designations on their menu which made my life easy. I had the house salad and the apricots on top were delish. Pig war pizza: I thought this was good but my friends said it was too salty. Maybe it was a tad salty but I think that's how all pork pizza is going to taste normally. 4.5/5 Fried chicken sandwich: I didn't really like this as much, I liked the sauce and it had a nice kick to it but the chicken was a tad dry and flavorless. 3.5/5 Philly cheesesteak: I enjoyed this, the steak and the melted cheese mixed together nicely with the bread to create a delicious experience. It is a bit expensive for a Philly cheesesteak though for its size and it's not anything super special. 4/5 Fries were also pretty good but they didn't come out hot. The food took a bit of time to come out but that is somewhat understandable since they were quite busy on a weekend night. I enjoyed the ambience, it definitely felt like a brewery and gave pub vibes but with solid food. 4.1/5
