Kids' story hours and author events are being added to the menu of this new neighborhood bookstore. The booksellers offer their help and assistance when it comes to book-selecting, but they don't pressure you into buying something you're not interested in. They can order any in-print title for you and have it at the store within days. I love this spot. It's one of those bookstores where you step in and really feel you can breathe. I first bought some non-gmo honey. I asked how they determine if their honey is non-gmo, which is a trick question of course. The nice lady in the store said the bees can only travel within a 2 mile radius (they don't go that far or they die), then they go back to their base camp to make honey. Within that 2-4 miles, there should be no gmo plants (like gmo corn) they could come in contact with or else the honey wouldn't be non-gmo, of course. The pottery and artwork are something I would want to display in my own home. If sky is the limit, I would buy that $400 salad bowl carved from a tree stump. Also, I love those pots that look like it was inspired by Gustav Klimt, in my opinion. I also love the handcrafted jewelry. During my first visit, I thought I would be able to find their merchandise somewhere else or online, but I found myself coming back. It's a wonderful and creative shop/boutique. The coordinator, Courtney, was very helpful in finding us the right seating arrangement for everyone to fit and still have space to paint freely. She was also very responsive and answered all our questions before we booked. This is definitely one of the most affordable event spaces in town and offers great vibes for any occasion. When we arrived, Courtney had all the tables and chairs set up and ready for us to lay out supplies and food. Everything was clean and well lit. There was even a speaker to play music over. The booking process was pain-free, and I feel the space was worth every penny for the experience it created.
