I would love for my 9-year-old son to learn Krav Maga. Do you offer classes for such age group? Thank you!

Unfair Treatment & Unethical Charges - Urgent Resolution Needed…read more I feel completely taken advantage of by Master Kang's martial arts program. As a single mother of three, I was looking for a safe and reliable aftercare solution for my children. When I enrolled my 6-, 7-, and 8-year-olds, Master Kang promised me a "discounted price" and a "free uniform." However, I quickly realized that the hidden costs--belt tests, miscellaneous fees, and other unexpected expenses--added up significantly. From the start, I made it clear that I would be unable to stay in class with my children due to my work schedule. Master Kang assured me that they would be watched after their lessons. Yet, on multiple occasions, I arrived to find my 6-, 7-, and 8-year-olds outside the dojo, completely unattended and unsupervised. This was not only irresponsible but also dangerous. I trusted this program to provide structure and safety for my children, but instead, I found them running around unsupervised, putting them at risk. Another issue arose with the attendance stickers that are given out to eventually earn achievement medals. Since I wasn't present, Master Kang would hand these stickers directly to my children, who, as small kids naturally do, often lost them before I arrived. When I asked for replacements, he refused, saying they were "too expensive" because they were imported. How is it acceptable to deny a child a simple sticker, knowing they are young and likely to misplace it? This lack of compassion and flexibility was incredibly frustrating. Then, life took a turn. I lost my job and could no longer afford the program. I informed Master Kang and requested to cancel my membership, explaining that I had to move out of state. The school demanded proof of my move, so I provided a lease and a utility bill. However, they rejected my documentation over a minor technicality--listing my name at my new address still tied to my old driver's license. Despite my best efforts, they refused to accept even my utility start-of-service notice as valid proof. How was I supposed to provide a finalized bill for a future address before even moving in? This requirement is not only unreasonable but feels like an intentional barrier to keep charging me. Now, they continue to bill me, even though I have done everything in my power to prove that I have moved and can no longer attend. At this point, I feel deceived, exploited, and robbed in broad daylight. Where is the integrity? Where is the humanity? Master Kang is a businessman and a family man--yet he is treating a struggling mother with zero empathy, prioritizing profits over basic fairness. I am demanding that my membership be canceled immediately. I refuse to pay for a service I cannot use, especially one that has already failed to provide the safe environment I was promised. If this matter is not resolved, I will have no choice but to escalate this through consumer protection agencies, public reviews, and legal channels. I hope Master Kang and his team choose to do the right thing. Everyone at every age is welcome and the staff goes out of their way to help. All the instructors have their own style. This is the first time that I have written a review for a company and I feel confident that these guys earn the five stars daily.

But if you are looking for a place to sharpen your character while you sharpen your skills, Sharpen Iron Academy (SIA) in Plano is in a league of its own. At SIA, you aren't just a number; the professors know you by name and are genuinely vested in your success both on and off the mat. This is a culture of discipline, accountability, and mentorship where the "iron sharpens iron" philosophy is lived daily. Whether it's the kids' classes, the youth program, or the specialized women-only classes, there is a deep level of trust and a guaranteed safe space for every student. It is more than a gym--it is a community and a family where you are pushed to grow in a supportive, high-level environment.

Their Godfather helped me research studios and after reading the CV for their head instructor Professor Henrique it was time to give it a shot. They had a lot of fun during the trial class, but they were nervous to start, not wanting to be away from Mom even though I was only three feet off the mat. Thankfully SIA instructors are not only skilled at keeping students engaged during training, but are very family centered, patient and caring. They were able to connect with each one of my kiddos so that they felt comfortable training as I looked on. By parent teacher conferences in February their preschool teacher let me know that both had grown so much in maturity and confidence and was curious to know what I was doing differently. Almost two years later the twins are well adjusted, focused and always happy when they step off the mat after an hour training session. Professor Henrique, Professor Lucas, Professor Matheus, Coach Queila, Coach Enrique, Coach Ian, Coach Ella, and Coach Anthony have become family and there is no other place I would have my children be twice a week. They offer adult classes in the morning and evening and several of the parents after seeing the transformation in their own children have started to earn their stripes as well.

WARNING about cancellation and billing at EōS Fitness…read more If you are thinking about joining this gym, please read this first. My experience trying to cancel my membership has been unbelievably frustrating and feels designed to make cancellation nearly impossible. When I attempted to cancel, I was told that I could not cancel unless I paid a renewal fee that had not even come due yet. In other words, I would have to pay a future renewal fee just to stop my membership. That made absolutely no sense. Because of this, I went into the gym in person to resolve the issue. I spoke directly with the General Manager, Chris Marriotti, explained the billing situation, and told him that I had been unable to cancel my membership properly. He told me that both my wife's membership and my membership were canceled and that everything was taken care of. Unfortunately, that was not true. Despite being told in person by the general manager that the memberships were canceled, the gym continues to charge the account and has now even added late fees. The memberships still appear to be active even though we were told everything had been handled. So now I am dealing with charges, late fees, and a membership that was supposed to already be canceled by management. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. When a customer goes in person, speaks to the general manager, and is told everything is resolved, that should be the end of it. Instead, it has turned into an ongoing billing issue. If you are considering joining this gym, I strongly recommend reading the contract very carefully and understanding exactly how their cancellation process works before signing anything.
