I joined life time Plano about a month ago and absolutely love it here! This place is awesome. I've taken a few different classes and they have all been good hard workouts with very encouraging and welcoming instructors. Rebekah is the best, her classes are great (and she has the best playlists)! I haven't used the tennis, pickleball, basketball, or rock climbing wall so I can't speak on those but they look wonderful. The best thing about this place is how clean it is! The whole place is filled with staff members that are always cleaning and folding towels but are very helpful and polite if you have a question. The price tag isn't fun for anyone, but as long as you use the facilities and take classes (there is one for everyone!) it's totally worth it in my opinion. read more

They desperately need to divide memberships between people who are using the daycare and all these nonsense things like "easter helicopter egg drop" and adults who are coming there to work out. Classes are mostly just the obnoxious group fitness on the overly-lit fitness floor. Good luck finding a yoga class F-S. Those are all at Plano. Employees are kind, coaches care and spa is pricey but staff is educated in their respective roles. Cleanliness is top notch.

They said they processed my cancellation due to an injury from a car accident, and they did not they charged me at the end of the month 300$ and the manager slevall was arrogant and rude and refused to refund me, if I was going to pay for the month I would have used the gym at least for recovery I did not get to use the gym all month and still paid. I recorded the call and will be submitting it to cooperate because he said the reason he is refusing is because he wants to see my personal medical documents which is a complete violation of HIppa. read more

I've had a poor experience at Lifetime. The gym and locker rooms are often dirty, showers have low water pressure, and the steam room is cleaned only every other day. Members frequently ignore hygiene rules, and staff do nothing to enforce them. I even developed a skin fungus from the cold plunge after seeing people use it right after workouts without showering. Management ignored my complaints and still charged me after I requested to cancel for 6 weeks that I didn't use the gym. Cleanliness and accountability are seriously lacking. read more

I was visiting my sister from out of town and wanted to check out Lifetime since I may be moving to the area and am looking for a new gym. She's a member, has been for over a year, and plays pickleball, which I'm also interested in. Naturally, I joined her as a guest (signed in properly, by the way). We were rudely greeted by Lee -Picture the textbook "Karen starter pack": short boy haircut, glasses, and an attitude that could peel paint off the walls. She marched up to us without a hello, without a smile, just straight into interrogation mode: "Who are you?" Followed by snapping at my sister that she is not allowed to bring a guest. Excuse me? We double-checked the posted pickleball court rules. Spoiler alert: nothing about guests not being allowed. It felt less like "enforcing policy" and more like she just woke up and chose hostility. For a gym that charges premium membership prices, maybe hire people who don't make paying members (and their guests) feel like intruders. Bottom line: if this is the vibe, no thanks. Still 3/5 but definitely dropping. The music is insanely loud and I haven't been able to find a single person that knows how to turn it down. I work out with noise cancelling headphones and can't even begin to listen to my audio books. The little stretching area is now taken over by pay to play equipment, even after business hours. Every thing about the club is turning into a money grab, from the stretch equipment to pushy trainers walking around. It is just no longer giving a luxury experience. I absolutely love Life Time Fitness. I toured every Gym and Fitness Facility in Plano and Frisco before I made my decision. The gym is very bright and clean. The staff is attentive. Plenty of equipment. Indoor and Outdoor Pool with so many classes you need a calendar reminder to keep up. It has a full size basketball court and my favorite racketball. If you have children no worries they have a child care service too. Did I mention the Spa? Amazing!! The amenities ranked way above my expectations. I would highly recommend you stop by and tour. Costumer service tops any other! Eric helped us out and made us feel right at home when we first walked in. He was more than happy to give us a tour was hospitable and professional. My husband daughter and I felt right at home by the end of the tour. We signed up that same day and were in love with the outside pool so we also got that. Missy is always there also to great us with a smile! Decent gym. The gym is always clean and doesn't smell like a tpyical gym. It also has almost of a spa feel to it. Very large swimming pool and baskebtall area. Actual weight room is average in size. Lockerooms and shower facilities are above average. As one might expect, the gym can get pretty croweded, especially the weight room, but all in all, it's doable. Gym is probably 4 stars, but for the value, i had to ding it a star as it is relatively expensive. That said, I have an employee discout with my employer, so I am able to justify it, but I don't think I would come here if I had to pay the full amount. read more

I can share tons of details however, for those that have one of these indoor courts clubs in the area -- STAY AWAY! The whole setup is a scam against Signature (monthly paying) members. ~$400/ month for "unlimited indoor courts" Great deal, right?! Reality: - you are limited to one reservation per day, up to two hours. You can add additional time at the front desk with untrained personnel that mostly has no idea what to do and by then all slots are gone anyway. - Here is the reality part - you will never be able to book a 60 or 90-minute (or 120) slot between 4pm and 8pm weekdays or Saturday mornings. If you are flexible and can play 2pm, go for it - a great deal they have. Otherwise, all kids clinics, adults clinics and private lessons have priority over Signature members. Things got progressively worse for Signature members over the last 12 months when they realized idiots are shelling out monthly fee and we can make real money with these clinics. I spent last 12 months waking up every single night at midnight to try to reserve a court a week ahead (when schedule opens up) and last 5 months was pretty much unable to get anything between 4 and 8pm. Ruined my sleep and quality of life. They did nothing to solve this issue and additionally refused to get the all hands meeting with Signature members to hear our side. One thing they won't tell you during the sales pitch orientation is that the Corporate target is to allow 20% or less available courts for (hundreds of) signature members during prime time (4-9pm). Extremely disturbed how anti Semitic this gym is... noticed no menorah in recognition of Hanukkah this holiday season. I requested a menorah to not discriminate against Jews this holiday season. There are a number of Christmas trees and even a Santa, yet no menorah or anything. I told staff and they didn't care. They said they'd look into it yet didn't. I'm getting all my Jewish friends and colleagues to cancel and boycott lifetime here. Disgusting. Overall gym is ok. Close to home so I joined. Spin class with Stan is great! Michelle is great for cycling too. Amp cycle with jasmine was amazing! Invest in cycle shoes if you wanna pursue spinning. Makes ride way better. Sarn for yoga is chill. Yoga is pretty mediocre here. I've been on treadmills upstairs where they literally malfunction and fall apart mid use, probably five times. Island smoothie and almond butter shake in cafe are good. read more

I'd like to start this out by just saying- WOW. My husband and I toured this club today and were blown away by not only the gym itself, but also the hospitality of the staff. We were introduced to so many incredible members of their team (including a wonderful yoga instructor) during our tour and felt so welcomed. All of our questions were answered and they took time to make sure we had all the knowledge we needed to (or to not) sign up! It was a no-brainer for us today as every aspect of this place is incredible. The indoor and outdoor pools were beautiful and we look forward to spending many summer days here with our son and continuing our entire family's health journey! Basketball courts here are taken Sunday morning by birthday parties every other week. We've told the Manageme my Cory and jasmine a million times that we are over 25 people every Sunday that play basketball and they promised me and bill it would Be after noon or 1 on from now on. They have promised this multiple times but they keep ignoring us and going back on their woes. Today was the worst , we had 27 people playing basketball and they already took the court for pickle ball and they are the only lifetime here that has no party rooms so they kicked all of us out when we only played about 30 minutes. I have Frisco membership so I'm already paying crazy 180/month for one person and we can't play ball when we want on Sundays here in Plano ....corporate greed at its finest..... read more

I really enjoyed it when it first opened. Lately before COVID cleanliness was not as it used to be. My review is about the ethics of billing me when I repeatedly put my account on inactive during COVID. I did not check my bank statement closely and upon auditing it, I realize that I was charged for 9 months when I thought it was inactive. I called and was told they tried to reach me (it was a mass email that went to my spam). No phone calls were received from them. I paid close to $1000 without using it and they said they do not indefinitely place memberships on hold. I have no idea how it is even legal to resume charging me when I did not go in to activate in person. Best they can do is to refund $295 only. Lifetime fitness is absolutely a wonderful place to workout, chill out with family or friends. I love the sauna room, big indoor and outdoor pools. I love the steam room usually post work. They have a bunch of great classes during day and night! I just started going to the yoga classes and is getting there, if you know what I mean. I thought I was flexible, but I saw ppl with super flexible, watch out guys. I will not quit guys. You cannot intimidate me. I ve been doing some cycling classes last yr but got injuries at work and hv not gone back since. My boys love the basketball ball court, very big and always open for practice, not crowded. The cafe is also good, you don't need to carry your wallet, you order with your phone number and I love that sooo much. Summer camp for kiddos is awesome! Staff is amazing and always helpful. I started off with Mr Storm. He's cool and a big time body builder. Separate big locker rooms, always clean. I pretty much like everything here, have not witness any problems, except the spa section, I had my worst massage ever with a guys that has no clue but don't want to mention names. My pedicure didn't last two weeks. So now I just go in for workout only , get all my spa's outside. It's affordable to me compared with what you get as a member. Plenty of everything, no lines or wait for anything. Personal trainer could rack up if you go that way, but cheaper than hospital payment, if you go the other route. Like getting any procedure done. A story about how Lifetime (Plano)support US Army Veteran with Disability child. My 5-year-old daughter has Down Syndrome and our pediatrician highly recommended swimming. We found a wonderful instructor, Sarah, at Life time. I thought it would be very good for both of us because I have to get ready for the PT test in my unit. A few months ago, I returned to college and decided to put on hold my club membership and I notified 30 days before. I also informed the swim club about this. Last month I saw that I was charged for swimming again. I came back to Life Time to ask about. From the beginning receptionist started to talk to me very rude. "Don't you know that the swim club is separate and we don't know what they are charged. If you put your account on hold, you cannot come in club anymore" "Ok, May I just talk to the manager there? Because I notified them too. " I spoke here and there, spent about an hour. In the end, they allowed me (for my money!) to take the last 4 lessons. We went last Tuesday without any problems. Today, already in swimsuits, ready for class, we were stopped again at reception. They said that there were no notes on my account, I told the whole story again and said that we were allowed last week. They called manager Corrie, she looked at the computer and said that she hadn't seen anything since last week, she started calling the swim club, I felt like I had committed some kind of crime, done something illegal. There were a lot of people, and I stood near the doors for whole time with child in my hand. It was very embarrassing! After 17 minutes they allowed me to come in. Swim manager showed me 2 notes!!! from last week! And of course, I can take a lesson, but there were already 12 minutes left until the end of the lesson. How did, three of this nice people, not have seen notes on the screen in front of their faces for the entire 17 minutes while they were yelling at me??? I've never felt so shame. Why should I make excuses? I just want to get service I paid for and It`s also not my fault, your guys separate in same club. Thank you, " Lifetime", for your support. I really like LT. Towels, lockers, clean facility, lots of amenities and equipment that works. The class schedule they offer seem to really cater to at-home moms. The staff is usually friendly but nothing extraordinary. The cafe is awesome and always has a daily special. The only problem is during peak hours. Hard to find towels and the locker room can be a mess. I HIGHLY recommend seeing Miguel (membership counseler). He delivered the BEST service and doesn't try to sell you on things you don't need. Death Time Fitness. Today, after almost 20 years, I am canceling my membership. They are running a Ponzi Scheme with their utilization of the workout space upstairs. If you need a treadmill or stairstepper or eliptical they've got you covered and you can cardio in peace. But if you prefer a weight rack, AirDyne, Concept2 Rower, Ski Erg, and workout either in the morning, at noon, or after work, you will be fighting with their Alpha classes to get a workout in. The space in front of Alpha is used at these times, too, by other fitness groups that don't care if you've got a mat and kettlebell already setup, they will intrude on the space and make you move. This is in addition to the group fitness room that's a separate part of the floor. Additionally, they do not send you a monthly statement in the mail or e-mail. Built into their business model is selling memberships that wont get used or noticed. I pay $172/mo, or $2,064/yr, to get treated like a second class citizen from the people paying upwards of $400/mo for their add-ons. I get the first class personalized offering and fly in that service often when I travel. But imagine sitting on a flight in Economy and getting thrown off the plane because a First Class decided they need all the seats on the plane. In their defense, some cool people work here but their management of the space is atrocious. I've been a member since 2001, starting at Plymouth and St. Louis Park in Minnesota and since moving to this one. This was a great gym we were members for a long time. I was diagnosed with two brain tumors in 2016 and froze my account. It was not frozen they continued to charge and 1 year during treatment i find out they have been auto drafting. I fought it and couldn't refund it all, they still owe me over$1,200.00 even AFTER I provided a note from my NeuroOncologist. Found out today 2019 they are charging me AGAIN! 3 years later! Now they are demanding a doctors note stating im ill in order to refund me? Isnt that personal records? Not even my health insurance has asked for that! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM! Shady and do not practice integrity, they will get your money and will not refund unless you bow to their demands. What an amazing tennis facility. 10 indoor courts and 5 outdoor courts. Look at my photos super clean and new. It was built 3.5 years ago. The staff are awesome - there are wonderful locker rooms - pro shop - drinks for purchase. Honestly - made me wish we lived in Plano! We payed the guest fees of $35 each - and the indoors courts are $16 per hour (so cheap!). read more

Gonna focus on the pool for now. Very happy the outdoor and indoor pools are open, but not happy that the outdoor pool is so dirty. Yes its an outdoor pool so I expect some leaves and other stuff in the water, but it seems like the pool hasn't been cleaned but maybe once a week when it should be cleaned daily with the increased traffic. The indoor leisure pool should allow all swimmers that pass the swim test not sure why there is an age requirement. The tile floor leading from the outdoor pool to the locker rooms is incredibly slippery, I'm actually very surprised they haven't had anyone fall yet. read more

I have mixed feelings. The gym itself is clean and lots of work out space.. but one of the personal trainers was power tripping and rude and basically ruined the whole experience for me. One came up to me and my friend complaining that she wasn't working out, and just showing me moves... OK? We both PAY for a membership, if she feels like showing me her work out routine and not working out that day.. SHE CAN. It is HARMLESS to show me her routine. MIND YOUR BUSINESS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!! **I'm sure many people saw her just showing me her routine that day, and NOBODY BOTHERED US EXCEPT YOU** This man was basically FORCING my friend to work out with me, saying if she isn't working out and just showing me moves then she needs to leave the gym. LOL OK HITLER! Seriously.. what a buzz kill and asshole. Power tripping. Nobody else cares whether or not she was working out or just watching/showing me moves that day. MAYBE she wanted to get out the house?! MAYBE she wanted to show me her routine?! MAYBE she wanted to compare my form to hers?! WHO KNOWS!! All I know is nobody should be "FORCED TO WORK OUT or leave". I repeat, IT IS HARMLESS FOR HER TO SHOW ME HER ROUTINE!! Seriously, I would much rather cancel my membership than have someone up my ass watching me, telling my friend she has to do a full work out with me or leave. That does not make me want to come back. Frustrating! A gym that cost $200 a month for 1 Person should have at LEAST 2 basketball courts. They did until they ripped one out for pickle-ball. They could have 4 courts but they chose to use a massive amount of space for a rock wall and squash courts. With all this said and done there's now 1 court which hasn't been re done in 20+ years and has dead spots all over the court where the ball doesn't bounce. It's clear the management doesn't want people coming here for basketball anymore, it's like they are actually trying to get rid of basketball all together at this facility. They are running events and kids camps ALL SUMMER and ALL DAY, which means no basketball. Pretty ridiculous and frustrating as a main reason I come to this gym is to play basketball. read more

As soon I packed my bag today and realized they were gone my heart damn near stopped. They are babies if anyone else knows that feeling about headphones in the gym. No headphones no workout. It takes a unique individual to turn them in just hanging up. Could've been gone but whoever turned them in or checked them into lost and found THANK YOU!!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. This gym is horrendously unorganized and poorly managed. The staff, specifically a supervisor, was unable to appropriately address my sisters injury. They claimed that their only health professionals were unavailable and therefore did not provide proper care. Her friends had to run around the whole gym to flag down a manager for help since the staff did not respond after ten minutes of being told help was on the way. The supervisor suggested she walk (hop on one foot) herself out on an injured foot with the assistance of two of her teenage friends. I am incredibly disappointed. read more

I'm writing this review in support of the great staff and facilities at Lifetime in Plano. I visit nearly every day for lap pool swimming and there are always lanes, sauna, steam and smiling faces there to help and support. Truth is, during some hours, the facilities can get a bit "rough" from overuse. I can see how a delayed cleanup may leave a bad impression. But these things rarely persist. There's always staff ready to help when someone or something needs assistance. This is a second home to me and for many members. read more
