We rented a pontoon boat with a slide over the summer here. It was a really fun experience and loved that there was a bathroom and slide on the boat. We were able to explore the lake and have a blast! The only complaint is that the prices in Tahoe for boat rentals are absolutely outrageous! I'm from the San Diego area and the prices are about half of Tahoe. It seems to get higher each year which makes it more difficult to do. Oh and we rented a raft to pull and I don't know that I would recommend it. Or maybe I wouldn't recommend pulling one in the pontoon boat. read more

I walked from the far end of these beaches to alert marina staff of people who lost their equipment and kayak and were stranded on a rock in windy conditions. The manager didn't speak back to me, he just gave me the cold shoulder and concentrated on whether or not the boats were his rentals. When people are on danger it's everyone's responsibility to help, and this guy was clearly inconvenienced and annoyed. He didn't address me once as I explained and pointed to the rock in the distance. I walked away without even an acknowledgement. These people took their dingy out there and tried to throw life vests but gave up. A single paddle boarder and a group of people on the beach helped them get their kayak back after they were stranded for a couple hours. If you rent from these people please understand, you are on your own. Not only are they incapable of helping you in an emergency, they will NOT alert authorities to assist you, and even if you don't rent from them look out because they are rude and severely ignorant about water safety. If those people had fallen off that rock it is extremely unlikely they could've swam to shore. It was too far and too cold. The manager at the kayak rentals had NO manners, NO concern for others safety and was completely incompetent. He could have called someone else for help, he could have said "thanks" or "ok" at least. When we visit Lake Tahoe and we want to touch our toes to the lake...this is the perfect place to go. Ample parking, rest rooms, a snack shack, nature trail, and just enough beach. It is the perfect place to sit and watch the sun set over Emerald bay on the opposite side of the lake. We usually visit in Autumn after the busy summer season is over, and before the snow, and we never have to worry about crowds. There is a parking fee, but that's okay, as it gives us access to all mentioned above. It is also fun to watch the dinner cruise ship depart--which happens just before sunset when it is running. read more

Zephyr Cove Marina was a popular destination for the Fourth of July weekend. My boyfriend and I attended this marina with our two golden doodle puppies. parking was a nightmare I give parking one star there were multiple stalls that were open however the event staff stated they were not allowing any more patrons to park in the parking lot which caused us to park illegally and just risk it so that we can have fun at the beach. There was a DJ on the beach and a full service bar and full service kitchen. The beach was crowded but we had no problem finding the spot and making friends. we rented a two person kayak and took our two dogs out on the lake. read more

Had a wonderful experience! My family and I rented a boat for 4 hours, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The boat was extremely clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and made the entire process super easy. We were also happy to learn that bringing our dog was allowed for just a $40 fee, such a great option for pet owners! Our near and far family decided to rent a pontoon for a day, and although it was a first for all 11 of us, absolutely no regrets and we're still talking about it! Lovely, very clean, and well equipped pontoon. Boarding and disembarking made easy by excellent staff! Good sized bathroom. Awesome slide was well used and enjoyed by all the kids. Top deck was great for sunning. Having a BBQ on board was so handy for feeding 11! Plenty of room for all of us to move around or just sit comfortably while taking in our beautiful Lake Tahoe. Price was very reasonable for 3 families to split. Can't wait to experience Lake Tahoe again like this! read more

First they waste 30 minutes of the time you paid explaining. SO PLAN AHEAD. IF YOU ARE TUBING DOUBLE CHECK THEIR OUT DATED EQUIPMENT. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CHECK THEIR EQUIPMENT. If you're wasting money double check everything you are renting before you leave. My group didn't let me mention about this very ripped strap (as pictured) and we suffered consequences when we were out in the water. We paid 50$ for a tube to have ONE OF THE MAIN STRAPS THAT YOU NEED TO HOLD ON TO be half ripped. We all CURRENTLY hurting our right wrist trying to hold on, so we just stopped trying to go tubing. IF YOU ARE TUBING DOUBLE CHECK THEIR OUT DATED EQUIPMENT. Side note the petite male manager tried to blame us for the ripped strap when I mentioned none of us were able to be comfortable while tubing. With very obvious wear and tear HE TRIED TO BLAME MY GROUP FOR IT biggest joke of management standing under 5ft. This place definitely needs to look into NEW MANAGEMENT before something serious happens and it's out of his wavelength and MORE people suffer AS I AM LEAVING WITH A SORE RIGHT WRIST. read more

A gorgeous place to spend the day in the spring - autumn. We came here last week celebrating my birthday and along with my cousin and having a picnic with our family. The natural beauty is captivating and peaceful. I think the shade it was a little cold thou when you peek out of the shaded pine trees, the sun will warm you The parking is $12 per auto. Ample parking and the public restrooms near our picnic table were closed, so we went to the open one behind the restaurant. There are hiking trails of places to explore. Lots of areas to sunbathe on the beach. The water was clear, clean, and cold. You can bring your own paddle boards or rent. Please check out the photos to see the beauty this place offers. There was some trash left on the beach, so please pick up your trash before leaving to keep this place immaculate and safe for the birds and children. Lots of trash bins for your trash. Enjoy your stay here. P.S. Also, there are longer hiking trails on the rim which I did once which was 10 miles. Breathtaking views from above and encountered a mama and her cub. Scary! read more

Do NOT reserve boats with this company. I reserved a boat inside the cancellation window. However, then got an email that I could cancel up to 24 before (conflicting with there online cancellation.) Then we pushed the rental to the next day and the weather was really bad. They refused to refund payment. We never used the boat. After alot of discussions they agreed to return the fuel charge.... Honestly, that should have never been charged in the first place if there was no fuel used. This place is not a business you want to deal with. Typically businesses understand that things happen like weather etc. They will stick their contract and terms to you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEING CAREFUL. read more

Lake Tahoe is our favorite place to be during summer. Stay away from Zephyr Cove if you are hoping to relax and or enjoy the beach. Way too many people at this beach resort! Years back this was our go to spot and feel it's overrated now. We had anxiety our entire visit today. Too many kids running around with no life jackets. Kids littering our beautiful beach. Tourists blasting their extremely loud inappropriate music. No way to enjoy the beach when people are setting up there 13x13 canopies over yours. You want a good spot, get here early like everyone else! This beach is just as bad as Kings Beach and Sand Harbor. Restroom are filthy! The smell of urine is so bad it'll have you thinking twice if you really need to use the restroom. Be respectful to our lake and please take your garbage with you. We tagged along this morning to Zephyr in celebration of Fourth of July. Worst idea ever, We knew it would be bad but not this bad! You'd think $40 parking would run people off but no "those people" are everywhere. We are all for the cool things offered at this resort from boat rentals, kayaks, and our favorite The Dixie. We haul our water sport equipment and feel it gets more congested and difficult to kayak, paddle board or even just to dive in with the crazy crowds. Family was just visiting the beach/marina. The boat rental was just opening for the season. Eric was so helpful and in tune with our family dynamics. He suggested us renting speed boat for the early next day so we are all set up to go with the kiddos. He recommended renting a boat for 4hours instead of longer which was perfect because the water was choppy in the afternoon. We all had a great time. He gave us a great deal since we were spur of the moment. The staff were super friendly. The boat was clean and very spacious. Highly recommend them to anyone. read more

After renting 2 paddle boards at Donner lake the day before my wife wanted to go paddle boarding again at Tahoe. We tried to rent a jet ski and they said due to weather they weren't renting them anymore for the day. We decided to rent 4 paddle boards for an hour even though the water was pretty rough. My major complaint about them is not asking their customers what their experience level is. If you are renting equipment that needs no prior experience then you should be ready to explain how to use something to the customer. The lady just threw 4 boards out there and gave no explanation. I myself had never been on a board before and was going nowhere fast! My wife and daughters all took off and left me in the dust, it wasn't until almost 30 minutes in that my wife figured out what was wrong. Zephyr Cove is beautiful! At the Marina, there are nice picnic areas, beach volleyball, and a bar & grill. That also where you can book the sightseeing tour. We decided to rent out a boat! The People that rented out the boat were super nice and they only give recommendations that fit my group and they were so accommodating. We were able to rent a boat for the whole day. They had four hour and eight hour options for the boat rentals and if you ordered four hours then don't need the full eight hours they just charge you for the difference and prorate it. I had a lot of fun at Zephyr Cove. It's definitely beautiful and highly recommend to visit during your time at Lake Tahoe. Don't forget to put sunblock! read more

We rented a pontoon boat for a 4 hour cruise. We went to Cave Rock, south shore and Emerald Bay. The people were very nice and the boat was nice and clean. My only disappointment was getting hosed on the gas. After paying $759 for the rental we had to pay $140 for 1/8th of a tank of fuel used. This is just plain gouging. I went to this lake on Labor Day weekend to check it out since I never been. I read the reviews here but I still went. I can't believe they were charging $40 for parking. Honestly it was just an ok beach. Not as wide as the other ones on California side. I didn't want to wait for the long lines to the bathroom so I went to one of the porta potty It was early in the morning and there was NO toilet paper I feel that the workers first thing in the morning should replace the toilet papers. It was almost 10am in the morning. If we are paying them $40 for parking. They should afford toilet for all the stalls. I did enjoy the stand up paddle board rental. Which was $30 and hour. A bit high as well. I know I won't be coming here again I would suggest going somewhere that has a bigger beach area and cheaper for parking. And has toilet paper!! read more

June 16, 2022 - We pull into Zephyr Cove to rent a boat/jet skis, the parking attendant doesn't mention that the boats/jet skis aren't being rented out as it's apparently to windy until AFTER we pay for parking. I ask him immediately if I can have a refund or have my parking pass honored for a different day, as we only went to Zephyr Cove to rent the boat/jet skis, had we been appropriately informed that they weren't be rented out we wouldn't have paid for parking. We did not go to the beach. I went inside the resort and talked to Mark "the manager" and he refused to refund my parking or honor it for another day. He did not care about our situation. He provided the GM's James phone number which I called and he has not called back. I spoke to another employee who said that was new, because they would always refund the parking in the situation where the boats weren't being offered as rentals and customers immediately changed their mind (not using the beach). There are many other nicer beaches (ie Sand Harbor Beach, Emerald Bay, Nevada Beach). The "resort" is old, dingy, smells so bad, RUDE employees, and extremely poor business management. Imagine losing customers that would have spent thousands over this summer (with my coworkers and family) due to their refusing to refund $12 for parking that we never utilized. There are much better boat rentals and obviously better resorts on the lake only 5-10 minutes, keep driving and save yourself the headache and inept poor customer service. I work in the insurance and healthcare industry and have spread the word to avoid this place. read more

They wouldn't refund my boat over the phone and told me they could only send me a check and the $2100 refund would take 4-6 weeks, even though the they were going to be closed the day of our reservation. I had to physically drive to the location to get help. I will NEVER rent a boat here again, and will make sure my staff never recommends it to ANY of my guests (Hotel GM). Zephyr Cove is a wonderful and soothing place to paddle board with my bestie and Kirrä Mahal (My Dog)! Dogs are allowed on the North side of the Cove, which is pretty Pawsome! We had such a great time! In addition, we rented our boards at #SUPTahoe. They rent their board for $30/2hrs or $50/all day until 5:30 pm and they load the board for you in your car- great deal all around and an epic experience! I had scheduled well in advanced 3 snowmobiles for 6 people. We were scheduled for an 11 departure time. The day of I called ahead and said we were on our way and MAYBE 2 mins late. As I got to the check in desk at 11 sharp out of breathe to run and get there on time the check in girl said the bus had left us. It was 11 exactly!. They didn't call to see where we were, they didn't even wait as I got there at 11 which means they had to of rolled out at 10:58/10:59! No refunds. So we waited around and cancelled our later plans to catch the 1pm tour. 1 pm rolls around and we sat in the bus for 20 minutes waiting for other people. So they left us EARLIER than departure time and then had a second group waiting around for others?! Whatever. When we get there we got a snowmobile that was old and impossible to steer. We told our guide and he laughed and said "they can be!" We ended up switching w someone else half way through and the ride was sooo smooth! They basically had a shit machine in use and didn't care it sucked for their client. We gave a good tip to the tour guide and told him again, as well as the people that rode ours back that the snowmobile should be taken off the line and he just said "hope you had fun!" We told the front desk person this as well and they said they would credit us the one tour. No calls, no emails, no credit. This company is just a bottom line, about packing as many people on the tour and nothing more. Go somewhere else. There machines are hazardous as the person who took ours rolled. And they don't care about making the customer a priority. read more

I will never attempt to reserve anything at this Marina again. I reserved a boat for the 4th of July on 6/16. Fast forward to 6/29 and I get a call from them stating that my reservation has been canceled due to the boat needs maintenance and won't be in the water for at least a month. My question is why did they even allow me to reserve a boat they have not confirmed to be worthy of being in the water? Of course they don't have any other boats available so now with less than a week until the 4th of July, I have a slim chance of finding anything available to rent in the Lake Tahoe area. Very unprofessional, frustrating and inconvenience. Pros: -Went to the restaurant here on a Monday afternoon, the food was amazing. - Gift store has a good collection. Cons : - 10$ to just enter the adjoining beach after spending 80$ at their restaurant, what?! - There were a couple of teenagers manning the rental booth who seemed completely disinterested in anything. We asked about rentals and parking and barely got any response out of them. When we pressed for details they just gave us a tonne of attitude. Apparently, their rental prices are universal truths that every living man and woman should know. Kinda ruined such a beautiful spot. Will I go back? No. Would I recommend this to friends? The past couple years I've made trips to Lake Tahoe, Zephyr Cove has been our go to beach. The views are breathtaking from shore and always makes for a good time here. There is an admission fee of $10 per car, I'm not too sure if there's re-entry privileges though and there's plenty of parking no matter the time. This cove has a volleyball net, a couple bars with good drinks, restaurants and there are cabins on site. I believe they offer water activities for a few. Also I have heard this is mostly a college scene, type of beach but I have brought my kids with me here no problems. Bring the alcohol, beach games, stereo and all you need to enjoy yourself. I called one month in advance to reserve the weekender boat with my friends. I got the confirmation email and followed up verbally and confirmed. There was suppose to be a grill on the boat so we had burgers and dogs ready to cook. We arrive with everyone and they have the wrong boat for us. No grill and no bathroom like I requested and had confirmed. Even after showing the manager and district manager the confirmation email sent from the and the follow up email they were not willing to offer anything for their mistake. Not only did they not own up to their mistake the district manager spoke through the onsite manager and would not talk to us. Not to mention it was birthday. Their boats are great but do not expect much service from their staff if there is a mishap. read more

We showed up at the cove around 12 which, granted, is pretty late if you want parking, but the part that was awful was that when we got to the gate and asked if there was parking, they said they don't count the spots and can't guarantee a spot, BUT you HAVE to pay the 10 dollars to enter and if you don't find a spot, NO REFUND!!! We decided to go to a beach nearby which was just as good and even offered a trolley service to take you to the beach and back to your car. read more
