    Clear bottom kayak rental
    Jules B.

My family made a reservation for a kayaking trip with Tahoe Paddle Sports and we were glad we did. We were given instructions ahead of time, to park at a certain address to be shuttled to the kayaking site. Ellen (the shuttle driver and mother of the owner of TPS) picked us up in a timely manner and was such a delight to talk to. Alex, our kayak guide and crash course instructor for a few kayaking newbies in our group, was friendly, talkative and very knowledgeable of the Tahoe area. Kayaking for 2 hours in a clear bottom kayak, cost roughly $150 -which included life vest, paddles, clear bottom kayak , dry bag to borrow if you needed it and of course our guide with shuttle transportation. Time flew by so quickly, as I felt the time actually on the water was very short. I was hoping for a bit more time exploring in the kayak down the coast to justify the cost. Alex was nice enough to take group pics in the water for us during the whole experience too. If you're ever in Tahoe and looking to kayak, I do recommend Tahoe Paddle Sports.

From beginning to end, our family had a fantastic time kayaking on Tahoe. And most of that is attributed to the staff at Tahoe Paddle Sports. The shuttle driver was informative, friendly, helpful and funny. But Rowan, our guide, made all the difference. Originally the idea of having "a guide," felt as though it might inhibit the enjoyment, but rather it enhanced it. His knowledge of the area is astounding. He taught me so many things about a place I've visited dozens of times in my life. He is the literal definition of "chill Tahoe vibes," and again completely enhanced our tour. Super kudos to Rowan...like rowin' a boat! Everything is handled for you and the time was just right for our family of four. Personally recommend an early start time and the photos were a super nice touch.

This was such a fun experience. We got to the meet up spot 40min earlier per the instructions and a friendly lady welcomed us and told us we were going to take a bus to the beach. At the beach we met Joaquin, our tour guide, who guided us, told us fun stories, history, and information about local spots. He always made sure no one was left behind and even climbed a rock to take a picture of our group. Very cool experience with beautiful views and friendly chat. Highly recommend booking with them!

We had trouble with weather while in Tahoe, but this company was super great and accommodating when helping us get rescheduled due to storms. We did get to go on our kayak tour of Sand Harbor and it was AMAZING. You take a shuttle from the meeting spot to the beach and launch kayaks straight from shore. Our guide, June, was super friendly and knowledgeable and was a great leader of this tour. They also took tons of great photos of us and then air dropped them to us after the tour. The views of this area of the lake are INCREDIBLE. Cannot recommend this experience enough!

After being cancelled twice by Clearly Tahoe and not being able to reach anyone for two days... we booked with Tahoe Paddlesports. Left a message and got a call back shortly after. The receptionist was so friendly and looked up weather reports and verified we would be able to kayak the next morning. Michelle our driver was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Melissa was our kayak guide. She was also very knowledgeable and friendly. Took care of everything and we were just able to kayak and enjoy ourselves. Easily the best kayak experience I have had. Please remember to tip your guide and driver. They work hard and deserve it.

I was researching clear kayaking in the Lake Tahoe area and apparently only a few companies do them. Based on the excellent reviews from Tahoe Paddle Sports, I went with them and did not disappoint at all! I called since I had a couple of questions and Tony was quick to respond. He was also quick to respond to my emails too. He supports veterans and gave us a 15% Military discount (Thank you!). Booking online was quick and easy with instant confirmation. This is a small group clear kayaking tour and thought the whole process went smoothly. From checking in, boarding the shuttle, loading up on the kayaks. We were out in the water the whole time! The clear kayaks were incredible. You will see patches of all crystal clear water, the rocks underneath and how deep the lake really is. Some parts will be a deep dark blue. When you reach Bonsai Rock, that is the area with the clearest and brightest waters, perfect for picture taking. The guide was super nice and took tons of group photos of us! I would recommend taking the early morning tour as the afternoon tour was cancelled due to high winds. Thank you Paddle Sports for a fun day!

Family Fun on the Lake! Thanks Alex for taking the photo for us!

My family and I booked about a month in advance with Tahoe Paddle Sports to do a 2 hour guided clear bottom kayak tour. We visited Tahoe mid September 2024. Ellen, shuttle bus driver and mother of the owner of TPS..she helps out from time to time and she is so funny and informative during our ride to the cove where the kayaks were kept. Alex, our guide, was awesome. Born and raised in Tahoe, we could tell he loved what he did by his passion n words he spoke about Tahoe. Organized, informative and best experience me and my family had on the lake! I asked Alex if he took Zelle or other cash apps to Tip him and he said its appreciated but not necessary. So please tip the guides and drivers! They are worth the price and worth your time n tips! Thank you for making our Tahoe experience memorable!

just an incredible action shot taken by our guide. above and beyond.

AMAZING TOUR GUIDE. The photos, the facts, the views. truly incredible experience. Fair warning, I remove 5 stars for the booking experience with the passive aggressive shuttle driver -- she seemed to think our being shuttled to the location was ruining her Monday. She had also alluded to it being private and wouldn't allow our friends who were running about 8 mins late to meet us at the launch spot via car service. We had booked for 8 people. Within about 5 mins we called back noting 2 would not be coming. Had they known we would not be refunded, they would have joined but we had been on a boat and other tours the day prior and they wanted to get spa instead. Our other friends obviously didn't make it because we were told they couldn't enter the beach. When we entered there were several private drivers entering the point, including an aggressive tesla that clearly had no idea what she was doing, as she drove around with her own paddle board. amidst the chaos, I add 1000 stars back for our tour guide. He airdropped over a hundred photos of our group of 4. As we were told by the driver, 4 people isn't normally worth her drive, but our guide gave us time to enjoy the views, reapply sunscreen and we were back on land with enough time to take photos of the fools gold in the water just as our shuttle arrived back to scoop us. my recommendation: take it for the experience -- request Alex, put headphones on for the ride. and don't even consider making a single change to your reservation unless you want to get hung up on weeks after your vaca!

Although I am an active person that loves hiking and traveling, I had never been kayaking in my life. That said, I was a little nervous before embarking on my journey into beautiful Lake Tahoe. The voyage started by meeting up with the other participants at a local shop; we took a shuttle to a beach area of Lake Tahoe near Cave Rock. Once we arrived, Anthony was waiting for us along with one of his employees. Anthony is the owner of this business, and he takes pride in his work. They explained how kayaking works, where we would be going, and reassured us that if we needed help, they would be there. Once I got my life jacket on, I hopped into my kayak. Due to my nerves, I was a little shakey as we voyaged into the waters. Anthony noticed this and brought his kayak over and hung onto mine. He taught me how to row correctly and how to balance. We hung out for a bit until I felt comfortable enough to go out on my own. Once I got the hang of things, it was so much fun! We went to various spots within the lake area while Anthony would share facts about Lake Tahoe, stories about volcanic rock formations we saw, and how he got into kayaking. This dude knows his stuff. I think we were out in the water for a little over an hour. I highly recommend this business if you want to venture out into the lake and kayak. It is suitable for beginners like me or experts as well. Everyone goes at their own pace. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they make you feel like you're going out into the waters with a friend.

Stayed in Incline Village for a girls trip. This excursion was so fun. The views were breathtaking. Our tour guide was Cole and he was awesome!!! He was very knowledgeable with the history of the lake and its surroundings. You can really tell he loves what he does and where he lives. He captured great pictures of our group. Thank you for a great day on the water. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

We decided to park in a parking lot across the street from where they are stationed at the beach, but there was limited parking and we had to wait for someone to leave. I appreciated that they showed us a visual map of where we could go in our time span, and provided us with a couple options. We decided to go to the marsh area, but there were plenty of other beach stops further down the lake. We brought our dog with us and they had a lifejacket for her. The first one they gave us was too big so they even went back to their storage and got one that fit her better to ensure her safety. The kayaks were well-maintained and felt reliable, especially with some of the choppier waves we were experiencing that day. I'll book with them again when we come back. It's also in a convenient location next to Sprouts Cafe, which has great food and fresh juices either before or after your kayak trip.

We did not understand that it was a restricted swimming area. We saw other watercraft and people paddling nearby so we didn't know we can't go that area. We also slowed down as we approached the shore and we believed we were following the rules that had been explained to us, including staying within the designated boundaries and not accelerating in restricted zones. Instead of clearly explaining the situation or giving us a warning, two staff members approached us angrily and told us we could not continue riding because we were "trying to kill people." When the rules were explained before the rental, we were told about the boundaries and what to do if we wanted to switch riders, but we were never clearly told which route to take when returning to shore or how to identify swimming-only areas. When we brought this up, staff simply said that the rules were included in the paperwork we signed. We were only told that it was our own responsibility if something happened to us before signing. No one specifically told us to carefully review additional riding rules!!!
