I hit the "help" button on the screen, and a checker immediately came over to manually input that item. While I was in the grocery side, my husband checked out the liquor store. He bought a number of beers to take home, including some that were new to him. We were both quite pleased with our shopping experience here and would stop in again on another trip to Hudson.

It's a downgrade in every practical sense -- presentation, cleanliness, and quality. After speaking with staff, it's clear this was not a store-level improvement. Employees dislike the change. Customers dislike the change. Which leaves one conclusion: someone, somewhere, decided that shaving a few cents off packaging mattered more than the customer experience. If that's the strategy, it's short-sighted. I no longer buy rotisserie chickens at Festival Foods. What used to be a reliable, convenient dinner option is now something I drive past without a second thought.
