    Bagel breakfast sandwich

Wow! Great bagels. Bakery treats look delicious. Friendly, helpful customer service and outstanding breakfast sandwich. Soft, tasty bagel, lots of delicious bacon. Will be back for sure.

Classic Buddy on Asiago...forgot to take a pic until after I had eaten half

Yum! I was out running errands and had a coupon, so I decided to try Buddy's for a breakfast sandwich. I ordered the Classic Buddy on an Asiago bagel and it was amazing! Had a light roast coffee which was delicious as well! I'm excited to go back and try some of the lunch sandwiches...especially the turkey, raspberry and Brie.

I've visited three times now. I really want to like Buddy's. Ever since moving from the cities, I've been trying to find a good bagel shop. However, I've consistently had poor experiences here. Somehow, on every trip, I've been both shorted food and charged for items I didn't even order. I think the issue comes from the layout of ordering, where multiple staff are helping and the person ringing up customers isn't the person who took the order. It's just really frustrating. The donuts are decent but pale in comparison to the specialty donuts from places in the cities. The apple fritter was the exception - it was phenomenal! The bagel sandwiches are good. The bagels themselves are hit or miss. Some are good (Asiago!), but some are not good (blueberry with too much food coloring and lack of blueberry taste, jalapeño cheddar which just had cheese melted on top and sliced jalapeños stuck on). I left a google review and contacted the owner (who gave me their email), but I didn't hear back. I think this place has potential, and a little bit of organizational adjustments would go a long way.

New location - in the same mall as Keys Cafe.

Same great bakery, new location - now on Charmichael Road near Keys Cafe. I happened across Buddy's new location while grabbing breakfast at Keys Café. I stopped in to check it out. The new location has a larger footprint with a much larger dining area. It's very nice. Of course, Buddy's still has the same great stuff. But I had the misfortune of stopping in right after a bus load of middle school students stopped in. It looked like a swarm of army ants had just marched through, nearly everything was gone. It was bad luck on my part. Stop in at the new digs and get some fresh goodies. Thumbs up! -Daddy Maxx Retro

Bagel menu specifically stating that a bagel with cream cheese or hummus costs $4.50

Very slow service, had two people behind the donut counter and only one person making bagels. On the menu, the bagels with cream cheese are listed for $4.50, so we decided to each get a bagel and a donut to share. At checkout, we were charged $7 for each bagel. On the checkout screen it said $3.00 for the bagel and then 2 additions of cream cheese for EACH bagel. When I brought it up to the cashier that on the sign each bagel was $4.50, he simply said "no." The bagels are not nearly good enough to justify a $7 each price point and we will definitely not be returning or recommending to others.

As I went toward the checkouts, I saw the spices and herbs section. I was thrilled to find celery flakes available, and for a reasonable cost! That ingredient is weirdly hard to find around the region. I went to the self check-outs. One of my cheeses had a smeared barcode that wouldn't scan. I hit the "help" button on the screen, and a checker immediately came over to manually input that item. While I was in the grocery side, my husband checked out the liquor store. He bought a number of beers to take home, including some that were new to him. We were both quite pleased with our shopping experience here and would stop in again on another trip to Hudson.

They were excellent -- consistently flavorful, well-prepared, and conveniently packaged in the standard rigid container with a raised base and clear lid. It kept the chicken elevated out of the grease, preserved the texture of the skin, and allowed customers to see what they were buying. That thoughtful packaging has now been replaced with a plastic bag. The result is exactly what you'd expect when you seal a hot, freshly roasted chicken in a bag with nowhere for heat or grease to go. The bird sits in its own rendered fat. The once-crisp skin turns slick and rubbery. Opening the bag means handling a dripping, slippery mess that coats your hands and countertop before dinner even begins. It's a downgrade in every practical sense -- presentation, cleanliness, and quality. After speaking with staff, it's clear this was not a store-level improvement. Employees dislike the change. Customers dislike the change. Which leaves one conclusion: someone, somewhere, decided that shaving a few cents off packaging mattered more than the customer experience. If that's the strategy, it's short-sighted. I no longer buy rotisserie chickens at Festival Foods. What used to be a reliable, convenient dinner option is now something I drive past without a second thought. That's disappointing, especially because Festival's arrival in Hudson genuinely raised the bar for grocery shopping in this community. It's remarkable how quickly goodwill can erode over something as simple -- and avoidable -- as a bag.
