I am always seemingly a few weeks on the other side of a Levain Bakery visit on my travels to nicer cities, so my first-ever visit to any of Crumbl's ubiquitous locations stepped in to fill the gap until I am back in Chicago for a double at the West Loop and some Cubs games now that the Hawks season ended. Crumbl is one of those things I only know about from a limited amount of time on tiktok where that is one of the brands that is everywhere all at once, even though most of my feed has to do with raccoons eating grapes, Connor Bedard doing anything, or the end-of-the-known-internet comedy stop of mispronouncing such words as tzatziki and microwave. If you find a way to make that kind of in-your-face marketing/influencing relatable to me I will eventually try your brand so I know whether the hype is deserved (Summer Fridays lip balm, heart eyes emoji) or must be fake (Kosas sunscreen, barf emoji). The thing that finally made Crumbl relatable to me was them hitting the double-whammy with the Canadian cookie real one (maple cream sandwich) and anything having to do with Oreo, which perhaps only Becky Albertalli understands how much of my life's decision tree comes down to whether there will be Oreos involved if I say yes or not - that is indisputable Simon logic, and never has led me astray, since following Oreos is kind of like Qui-Gon following the force where ever it may lead, whether that is the pointy end of a lightsabre in the bowels of Naboo or being a degenerate gambler on Tattooine. This Crumbl location is across Westheimer from Target in a brand new strip mall perpendicular to the north side of Westheimer. There was ample parking since most of the bidnesses in the strip mall are not open yet. When I walked in I was the only customer. Of the two ordering tablets in the corner, one was not working. I am not sure how busy this place gets at peak since it is my first visit, but it is chaos at the Shake Shack a few blocks down Westheimer when they are down to one ordering tablet. The store is clean, brightly lit with floor to ceiling windows, and relatively small, as the kitchen/freezer/bakery portion of the store takes up like 95% of the store's footprint, and you order and wait for your cookie in basically the ATM sized vestibule. The one young man working had some music playing and was singing along to it while he worked. I think that says it is a festive atmosphere in the store, which I like, since it is cookies - not something bad about to happen to you, which you always feel like is possible when you walk into a store with music seemingly designed to get you to leave. The menu changes every week so your mileage is going to vary based on what the week's selections are and whether you like/hate the flavours. I disliked the flavours of several weeks in a row so I did not come on lemon flavour weeks. The things that won't change are the actual store location and atmosphere - here it gets good marks that it was an easy, efficient ordering and pick up experience from a polite employee. I ordered three cookies, and the cinnamon square had an additional upcharge of 49 cents that the other two did not. There is a price break if you buy four cookies but none of the other cookie options spoke to me. With tax three cookies plus the upcharge on cinnamon came out to $13.96. So these are still cheaper per cookie than Levain Bakery's double. Maple cream. This was a 9.89/10. It is served dang cold but give it about 25 minutes to be the perfect temp for the maple to start soaking into the shortbread. I am not in Nova Scotia at the moment, but this cookie makes me feel like I am. Purchase purchase purchase!! Cinnamon square. I rate her a 7/10. I was excited to see there was some real girth to the roll part of the cinnamon, but it was bland. The icing was far better than what was underneath. The icing was a 10/10 so I think they should add much more flavour to the roll part, or give less roll part and more frosting. Still worth the extra 49 cents to try. Oreo birthday cake. I was so excited to try this, because Oreo. I was greatly disappointed by this. There are too many sprinkles, that is one. The cookie part is rock hard, dry, and brittle so it comes off in brittle, sandy pieces, that is two. The icing is simply ok (nowhere near as good as the cinnamon square) where it is not completely ruined by too many sprinkles, that is three. And they made my beloved Oreo look bad, that is four. In the new leaf I turned over when I almost died in 2020 I try to be less harsh, but this was just not a good cookie at all. In the store I expected it to be an 11/10. When I bit into the dull, rock hard, dry cookie my one bite cookie review was a 2/10 because I wanted to be generous even though I also wanted to take my opera glove off and slap someone in the face for doing this to my homegirl Oreo. I know they change the menu every week but if you ever see maple cream sandwich you need to purchase this right here.

Went to get some cookies, loved the selection they had. I got 2 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, 1 semi chocolate chip, and one cookies and cream. We ordered via a iPad or something like that. I prefer in person ordering but it was simple and self explanatory. After we ordered the items were prepared SUPER QUICK. They Crumbl was very clean, VERY CLEAN. Staff were friendly. Definitely recommend.

What better way to celebrate St Patty week than with a chocolate mint ft andes cake. My first time at a crumbl and I gotta say my kid has more energy on a Monday morning than all the staff here combined. Nevermind them. Because orders are placed on a tablet inside the store anyway. The cake came out pretty quick. I asked for a fork and the guy behind the counter was reaching from an open jar on the counter with 3 forks in it. I noted to him that maybe that was the disposal bin because the forks in there looked used and had frosting on them between the prongs. So he grabbed one from under the counter. Whew. Close call. The cake was pretty good. Not gonna lie. But at 1060 calories it better be. I could feel my heart racing with each bite as the Nick Avocado in me came out. The cake was cold, so I'm guessing it had been refrigerated. No problem for me if that's what's needed to keep it moist. I saw some ingredients on the baker table and they use liquid eggs from a carton. I did the math and this one cookie/cake piece has the same calories as 42.4 Andes chocolate mints. Honestly I think I'd rather have the mints. But then there'd be no review.

A new crumble store opened in my neighborhood YAY! I was so excited to try but I received a cold cookie when I picked up my order in store. I tried again, because everyone makes mistakes, but this time the cookie was only heated up partially. Call me crazy, but I'm currently awaiting my third order from this store, this time it's delivery; please pray for me y'all I'm craving warm gooey cookies so bad! Update: as you can see delivery did me dirty lol the cookies weren't warm either. The taste was there though.

    The cookie I got today

I came in and ordered on the ipads, my money withdrew and showed as pending but did not show as ordered on the ipad. i asked the worker to which he replied with attitude and was very unhelpful suggesting I come back in two days if the money doesn't come back to talk to their manager, over a single cookie. I then ordered another cookie with a different card and the worker gave me a cookie that looks like this... compared to the one I got the day before

    Ashley Y.

Delicious, warm, thick! The cookies came out quickly and warm. This is a new location so it wasn't busy and was very clean!

This was our first time here and we ordered minis but we didn't know how small they were until we went infront and saw them , I told the cashier if we could pay the difference and she wasn't able to help us , she called a male worker and he gave us good service and made it himself , 10/10, I couldn't get the guys name but he worked today at 7pm 10/2/24

I made a bee line to get my funnel cake before the word spread that TFB was in Pearland! I went to my IG just to see what their times would be for the pop up. First post I see is that they have a featured flavor- the cookie butter funnel cake. With Biscoff cookies and pieces of cheesecake interlingled within... Yall, I'm not a big sweets person and I only bought the large to support the biz, but that dang funnel cake is no more! Gone. Disappeared. Now, not all at once. That would be crazy, but a few bites when I first got it...a few more hours later...a few more today and yeah its gone. It tasted just as good the next day too, so well worth the money for not only the portion size but the creativity. I never would have thought to put Biscoffs on a funnel cake....so glad somebody did! The food truck is very efficient as well. You place your order and they give you a buzzer. They were willing to bring the funnel cake to me but I had parked at a distance anticipating that more people would be showing up soon so didn't want to get blocked in. For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Side note you'll need a code to use their restroom. I ordered the split cup of Strawberry Almond Cheesecake and Dulce de Horchata. I felt that the portion could've been slightly more generous than below the rim of the cup, but I suppose the price is reasonable. I guess it's hit or miss like at Marble Slab. The cheesecake flavor was okay not overpowering, which I would've preferred more than the almond and strawberry. I think I wasn't impressed with it because the server scooped more of the graham crust than ice cream. I'm pretty sure that's another reason I didn't particularly care for their cheesecake. The horchata was nice with hints of cinnamon and with the split cup made it taste even better.

Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
