Half of the stair masters are broken. There is barely any work out machines a lot of empty space. Girls bathroom toilet paper holders are broken so the toilet paper is just on the hook to hang your bag at the top of the door. I went early in the morning so it wasn't crowded. I'd hate to see how this place operates during rush hour. Needs some improvements. read more

This is my home gym. It holds a very big part in my life. I started my journey here the general manager CHRIS is a phenomenal human being, very motivating very discipline and he cares about every person that steps into the gym. He's the foundation of the building blocks it takes to start this journey correctly. This facility has everything that you need all the amenities to have a good workout and recovery. Location is good and this place has potential, but it feels so old and falling apart. There's multiple buckets lying around for a leaky roof. Several broken machines. Can't cancel nor freeze membership over the phone. This is a FRANCHISE location and you can't even use your membership at corporate locations. (So all the locations in the BAY area) I walked to one in San Francisco and still had to get in because our memberships are not valid :) Manager is only in limited time so you can only cancel on this guys time. Bank account is in the negatives thanks to them charging me early. Typically it's always on the 28th. But this time the 11th? I go to a whole other gym and left this account open for emergencies. Get a better system, because this was severely disappointing. Y'all were better outside. UPDATE. Canceling Membership is terrible. I called ahead of time to do this, and they replied that we could downgrade your membership for free. I replied, "No, please cancel the membership." They sent a debt collector saying I now owe Crunch $375.98, called them they had it on record, and even the email saying I am trying to cancel. So I called Crunch on Shaw and talked to some managers who didn't know what they were doing. told me to call (559-322-0700) to review my case; it was just a dial tone that hung up on me. This gym is decent but hardly gets the job done. It has poor management and a lack of respect for customers. Half the machines are broken, but if you are paying for a half-a-gym, go for it! If I could rank this half-a-star like the Caretaker from Longest Yard, I would. read more

A decent gym. i've been attending this gym for 2 years & they have yet to fix a leaking hole in the ceiling & instead they keep a bucket right by a machine. I joined the gym a little over a month ago. Since then, I have come into some health issues and have been instructed by a doctor to refrain from working out until resolved. I have appointments set through May for diagnosis. I attempted to reach by phone early February and got disconnected several times. Appeared there may have been phone issues. I then emailed their location and email popped back. I have the return emails as well as proof of my calls. I finally called back and reached Jaz on 2/24. I mentioned all my efforts and my attempt to cancel via there app and got an error message, which she stated is purposely set that way. She stated that I would need to come in to cancel my membership in person. I then explained to her that I am on a business trip in Florida and unable to do that. She provided another email and took my information and stated that a manager would be on duty in the afternoon the following day and would provide my information to them to call me back. I followed up with an email to the address given and not only have not received a phone call, but have yet to receive a return response to my email. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

Machines are always taken I started to workout here in 2021, the workers were chill and pretty cool to talk to, a year ago. Suddenly, the staff changed and it became very aversive just to check-in. The staff got very lazy with allowing members to check-in with telling their numbers. One guy in the front works from about 4-8pm, gets paid minimum wage to be a prick to members. I have been working out on and off at the Crunch location on Shaw for 3 years now and they have failed to repair simple fixes such as holes in the wall and machine repairs for the entirety of my working out there. There are multiple buckets for roof leaks. Employees are nice but the place is in terrible shape. Whoever manages or owns this location needs to figure it out. Canceled twice, they charged me for over 1.5 years. I enjoyed the facility. But I have jumped hoop after hoop to get my membership canceled. Went in multiple times, but they only can cancel if the manager is in house. And apparently they only have one and he's rarely ever there. The staff has no ability to do it. The alternative is to email the manager. To which it takes weeks for them to reply. And even with clear language, such as CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. They followed up emails to requesting to freeze it instead. There's no way to cancel it online. Everything funnels through to the manager. And apparently if you aren't clear enough, which CANCEL MY Membership isn't clear enough, they will continue to charge you assuming you actually wanted to keep going to the gym. read more

Went in for a 7 day pass. (Backstory: I had a membership years ago. Early when they first opened this location and cancelled because I moved out of county where no Crunches were around) Anyways, the woman who helped me was so nice the first time around. She asked me if I had been there before and I said yes, and that I used to go there. She proceeded to tell me she couldn't give me a tour, so said to explore on my own. And that id have 7 days ! Well I went for two days (other employees helped me sign in during this time) and on the third day she helps me again. Says they never give out 7 day passes to anyone whose had a membership before. When the weird part is if they don't, why did she have me sign in on the iPad that first day? Knowing I had been there before? -also, Why do I keep getting emails and text messages saying I can come in ? To make sure I use my pass?? It was very upsetting to have her change like that. She said to either pay for a day pass or get a membership. I was really looking forward to getting a membership with my partner. I was so excited to start at my new gym. Sunday morning April 6th, got up, drove there 6:30am. I park go and see 10 people waiting. They're suppose to open at 6am. Waited 20 mins still no one. I have been coming to this gym consistently for about 3-4 months now. So far, I have finally gathered the pros and cons. Lets start with the cons. Cons - This gym is usually packed in the evening(a time when I am free) from 4pm - 8pm. Although sometimes it just really depends because at times when I arrived once at 9pm it can be packed. - It doesn't feel sanitary. Although COVID has definitely toned down I think ever since the pandemic I have been cleaning and sanitizing as a routine. Of course I don't expect everything to be clean but I wish that people there would clean up after themselves(sweat). I switched from Planet Fitness to Crunch and I don't know, I feel much cleaner and safer from germs at Planet Fitness rather than Crunch. - It seems small. In regards to my first con, since the gym can be packed at times it makes the gym feel really small and claustrophobic. I don't know if the AC is not working as good or maybe there is poor ventilation but most times the air feels hot and musty(I won't criticize too much because I know they are still under construction ATM). - Enrollment and Membership. When I first came here I heard about a 7 day free trial. I cam in expecting I was going to get that deal just to have a feel at the gym but it more felt like the Manager was just trying to rack up members for the gym to which in the end, I ended up paying a lot for a 7 day FREE trail. Maybe it was the way he was talking to me but I felt kind of pressured to buy a membership right then and there. There was a lot of urgency, maybe I am to blame but this complaint is not the first I've heard. I've had friends and gym buddies tell me the same thing. - Machines are always taken but primarily because it gets busy here. - I wish this gym was 24 hours like Planet Fitness. Friday-Sunday it closes early at 8 pm. Okay now for the Pros.. - There are a lot of classes that are being taught here. Yoga, HIT workouts, Dance, and so much more. A lot of diversity when it comes to the classes and the instructors are very understanding of injuries and mental mindsets about working out. They even offer a free evaluation and advice type of consultation when you first join too! - The workers there are super duper friendly. A reason why I like coming to the gym is because I feel welcomed every time I come. Brandon is usually the person I see at the front desk and he's always super friendly and helpful. - I felt a lot of gym intimidation when I started coming here. A lot of people were fit and already had a set schedule. Coming in as fresh meat made me feel unmotivated to workout but, once I started to come more often I have made gym buddies and everyone here is super nice too so it's what makes it all better. - Specialized and secluded rooms. Here at Crunch they have a indoor track upstairs which I really like. The also have a room up there which I think used to be a cycling class but its empty. The AC is cool and it's a nice room to do some stretches away from bigger crowds. read more

Crunch Fitness is one of the gyms that my insurance "SilverSneakers" would be accepted at. Driving to Clovis or the location on the Figarden Loop both feel like a bit of a road trip, so I think I'll see what's a bit closer to home. read more

Do not give these people your credit card number for membership. They closed down the gym on fig garden. Unfroze my account in which I had initially canceled not froze and started charging me. There was no one to get ahold of to get it to stop. I emailed corporate. No response. I had to call my bank and block them from charging me. They ignored all my emails and just send me emails with balances due. When I finally got ahold of someone they said I need to send emails to manager to cancel. I did. I then recieved another email from someone else I need to pay the balance and cancel in person. They literally unfroze my account without consent and started charging me. The response team is slow and no one answers the phone. read more

I called regarding my cancellation and the employee on the phone was being a little rude and kept insisting that I freeze it after I stated multiple times that I wanted to cancel it. He asked too many questions about why I was going to quit and kept pushing me for details. He was extremely irritated, disregarded my responses, and even asked "Why did you even sign up in the first place?" I wanted to cancel because a lot of the machines need repairs and I didn't think there were enough machines. it started out good but has gone down hill since. The only time we get in at 5 am (which is the opening time M-TH) is if the cleaning staff is there. The counter staff has not been showing up until will after 5 am. One day they were over 1 hour later and then this morning we didnt even get into the gym until 5:10 am and when you have to work out and then get to work on time we dont get to do our whole routine at all. I've never felt so discriminated against as a woman. LOUIS "the general manager" had the audacity to personally attack my sister and I when I attempted to cancel a gym membership I've been paying for. LOUIS launched a tirade of insults, discriminating against my sister who's disabled, and asking if we had personal issues between us as the reason for cancellation. I attempted to educate LOUIS that his comments were very inappropriate but he was a loss cause. The account had been cancelled, and LOUIS coerced my disabled sister, to reactivate the account without approval from me, the person who actually created, manages, and pays for the account. He took advantage of us. He was not authorized to reactivate my account. LOUIS unquestionably skipped out on manager and harassment training his whole life. read more

Peak Results Premium member here - with a first glance, you'll see the staff are nice. But they really don't take care of their place beyond wiping stuff down and cleaning the bathrooms. And after a year of going consistently here, I've found that they really don't care. It's a scheme of getting your contract and saving the most money possible by doing as little repairs or maintenance as possible. At one point I found a treadmill that was lurching and seemed like it wanted to jump under me (hard to explain but it definitely didn't feel safe.) I told staff who didn't seem to care at all. Various weight machines have been broken or very worn down for over a year. Furthermore, the staff member who signed me up kept me in the dark about pretty much my entire membership. He didn't tell me about the free t-shirt that came with my membership, he didn't mention I could pay upfront for a year and save, and NOBODY told me about getting a tour around the gym. Every piece of information I learned about my membership came from either another member or the website, with the exception that they DID tell me my membership allowed me to bring a friend. I tried to cancel my membership one day but the staff member made me wait a few minutes then gave some excuses to keep my membership although I told him I literally didn't use any of my premium benefits. I gave in this time because I wanted time to find another gym. In the past several months, I've been using my premium membership to go to the Figarden location, which is slightly better. Overall, I am on the lookout for another gym. read more

I transferred to this crunch from San Lorenzo (Bay Area) recently this week. The process of transferring was very easy. But I was looking up reviews on here the day before actually going and I was nervous that I would be wasting my time and money because the reviews were just horrible This one was significantly closer to me, so I figured I'd try it out despite the reviews. Can't judge a book by its cover. Anyways upon entering for the first time I was greeted with smiles and good energy by a front desk person and the manager- who's a male, but can't remember his name. I told them I was new here, and they helped me get checked in. The few times I have gone, all the front desk people are very friendly. I'm an overly anxious person, so walking in with a bunch of rude or unapproachable people would've turned me away, but they're cool. The only thing I was disappointed about was it was my first time in, I had no idea where anything was at. Givin, it's my first time here I assumed I'd get a tour or be shown around (San Lorenzo was GREAT with that). So I walked around and felt a little stupid because I didn't know where anything was. Environment: equipment is clean and working. Intitally I felt like things were cluttered together and in a weird flow of the gym, but they're currently doing construction for the rest of the month so that makes sense. I think there's a lack of spray & wipes but it's not a huge deal. The bathroom was okay, wasn't too clean but not too dirty. I had a KO training session with Noah, who is the entire reason I came to write the review. The manager had helped me schedule it, and to be honest- I was gonna not show up. I'm not too comfortable with working with others in a gym, and because it's a whole new world to me in there- I just get really anxious. Well Noah greeted me at the door with a welcoming manner, and got me through my quick training. He was awesome, very professional. He stopped and explain everything. He showed me around a little, and was very easy to talk to. He's the reason the gym gets 5 stars instead of 3. He made it a very positive and memorable experience. My overall experience was great, I'm glad I ignored the reviews and went in. The only room for growth would probably be making sure first timers get a proper tour, and are able to run through any questions they have read more

I'm seeing a lot of the same reoccurring issues here. Canceled my membership during Covid because I did not want to come in to the gym anymore. I even canceled my card. They still charged a balance on me and claimed I had to come in person to cancel even though I would not go in there during peak pandemic. After numerous calls of telling them to cancel my membership and that I would not go in person, they let me know my membership was taken care of. Although I thought I had a respectable/honest relationship with the manager, I've since heard the slimy requests he makes for this business. Two months later I got a call from a debt collector for crunch to pay for the months charged in which I had canceled, which I paid to avoid any further issues. The money is not the issue, it's the principle and poorly ran business this company is running and continuously taking advantage of other members. The WOMEN'S SAUNA has not been worked for over 2 months and it appears there is no rush to fix it. When you call the gym, they give you the same excuse. They don't know when it will be repaired. Yet, they continue to allow the men's sauna to be serviced, working and running daily. This is unfair to the female members. Being a franchise location still requires the General Manager to run his operation under the rules and guidelines of Crunch Fitness. All repairs should be made in a timely manner. read more

Scammers! Annual fees cost more than other gym memberships for bigger facilities. When you want to cancel you have to go in person no matter of your circumstances, I had talked to the people and told them I no longer am available to make it to this city to cancel in person and they didn't care. Don't trust this gym! They've refused to respond to my 7 emails I've sent them over a 3 week period and also multiple phone calls. I haven't gotten a call back or an email response in regards to my cancellation or refund. A written cancelation of membership is stated in the contract and yet they haven't responded. They also charged my account when it was frozen due to medical reasons and haven't responded to my many attempts for a refund. Would give it 0 stars if I could. read more
